Pros:
- Character named tropes are deprecated
- Wick check shows heavy misuse for other inspector tropes — allegedly 40% misuse or more (in dispute — the wick check may have contained errors).
- Frequently sinkholed whenever the inspector is mentioned, sometimes even when his being this trope is not relevant to the example.
- Current name generates lots of inbound traffic for the trope and wiki.
- Significant uncertainty as to how widespread the misuse actually is.
- Name may not necessarily be the origin of the actual misuse.
- Javert is not merely trope-namer — many examples are based directly on this specific character.
