* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: '''EVERYTHING.''' See for yourself [[http://music.jwmusic.org/album/the-spirit-engine-2-complete-original-soundtrack here.]]
** Of note: [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/clash-at-the-dragons-gate Clash at Dragon's Gate]], the boss music for chapter 5, [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/urtat-the-unbeatable Urtat the Unbeatable]], the {{Superboss}}' battle music, [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/fierce Fierce]] and [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/the-fiercest The Fiercest]], chapter 3's battle themes, [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/confrontation-at-the-minds-core-2 Confrontation at the Mind's Core]], chapter 8's boss theme, and, of course, the [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/the-final-showdown final]] [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/final-cry-2 battle]] [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/medeas-final-conflict-2 themes]] and [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/finale-and-a-lost-dream-2 ending theme]].
*** The game's main theme that is frequently quoted in other tracks, [[http://music.jwmusic.org/track/a-lost-dream-2 A Lost Dream.]] It's a pity it only appears in the opening scene, where most players probably won't wait to hear all of it.
* DemonicSpiders: The combat is kept fresh by giving almost every enemy or set of enemies a new or unusual ability or gimmick. This leads to many enemies who will induce hair-pulling for the unprepared. There are also some who simply have such strong armor or self-healing abilities that hurting them significantly takes a huge effort.
* FridgeLogic: [[spoiler:In chapter 9, if you have Ionae in your party, she threatens to collapse the hall using an explosive shell...except that ''[[GameplayAndStorySegregation she can't use that skill]]''.]]
* FridgeBrilliance: It initially seems very confusing why the scientific research station in Chapter 6 is in such an obscure location and why no major breakthroughs have been made by all the (admittedly kooky) scientists there. Then you realize this is [[spoiler: how the Rakari isolate and supervise scientific minds so they can mind wipe and suppress any discoveries to preserve their MedievalStasis.]]
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: [[spoiler:The ending.]]
** [[spoiler:Ionae's subplot, where she gives heartfelt advice to a group of {{Emo Teen}}s to help them get over their issues, then saying "IChooseToStay" when given a choice of going back to the Counterplanes, because she grew a conscience.]]
* NightmareFuel: Chapter 5. Dear gods, chapter 5.
** [[spoiler:Enshadu's face. Be glad he never actually takes off his mask.]]
* NightmareRetardant: The Crone, due to having RhymesOnADime, which makes it hard to take any of her scenes seriously. Otherwise, she'd probably be terrifying.
* TearJerker: If you have Charlotte in your party, at the beginning of chapter 7, [[spoiler:when the Keepers ask her about Isabelle]], she starts talking about her life story in a way that is nothing short of heartbreaking, especially if you imagine her saying it in a CreepyMonotone because of [[spoiler:the herbal intoxicant the Keepers gave her.]]
** One that you'll see regardless of which characters you chose: [[spoiler:Once you finally get to the World Eye, you'll find a critically damaged Clay 13 holding Shara's limp body. He says "[Batiste] broke her and now I can't make her move." When your party members say that she's dead, he says "[[PleaseWakeUp I don't understand. You can make her smile again!]] The others would laugh at me, but she was always...always...so...kind..." Before dying himself.]]
** Some of the {{Hannibal Lecture}}s [[spoiler:Ick Thelloth]] delivers in chapter 8 can be pretty tear jerking as well, especially Charlotte's. Also, possibly an in-universe example, as your characters will go into a "depressed" state afterwards.
