* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Lucy made a comment about The Little Red-Haired Girl not being that pretty. Did she say that because she was jealous of her, or was it because Schroeder, her personal crush, was admiring the girl instead of her?
* AwardSnub:
** A good number of people were quite disappointed that the film wasn't able to secure an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature. Heck, neither of the two Meghan Trainor songs featured in the film were even nominated for Best Original Song. Even on the meta level, poor Charlie Brown can't ever catch a break.
** The movie had five nominations at the VES Awards, meaning it had the highest number for an animated film that year. Despite that, it didn't win a single award.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt:
** The CGI is ''gorgeous'', looking fresh and updated while still keeping true to the spirit and look of both the strips and the animated specials.
** This is perhaps the first time where all the characters are ''exactly'' on-model to their comic strip counterparts, with none of the warping of head shapes or bizarre facial disproportions that characterize the vast majority of previous ''Peanuts'' animations.[[note]] A lot of that was a necessary design choice by Bill Melendez to fit Schulz's art into traditional animation.[[/note]]
** Also worth mentioning are the beautiful hand-drawn {{Imagine Spot}}s, which match the style of the comic strip down to the last ink-line.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The producers promised that Music/VinceGuaraldi's music would be prominently used and referenced in the film. Indeed it was – "Skating" and "Christmas Time Is Here" feature within the first ten minutes, and "Linus & Lucy" plays at least twice.
** Music/ChristopheBeck's score isn't half bad either, most notably his two renditions of "Linus & Lucy": [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Img-_Q6TSZk an upbeat, jazzy version]] used in the film's climax, and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkz3ia_PtYc a slow, nostalgic piano version]] for the end credits.
** Music/MeghanTrainor's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkCyfBibIbI "Better When I'm Dancin'"]], which was used at least 3 times in the film.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L6qQnQUAo0 "Good To Be Alive"]], the second song by Meghan Trainor for the film.
* BrokenBase: Opinions when the film released were split about the movie's ending. [[spoiler:With a race against time to talk to the Little Red-Haired Girl, the universe as always conspires against Charlie Brown to make absolutely sure it doesn't happen. After one obstacle too many, Charlie Brown very nearly gives up hope and pleads for things to work out just this once. Sure enough, the universe decides to [[ThrowTheDogABone cut him a break]] and he makes it in time, and the movie ends with him receiving affirmation from the LRHG and his friends that he is indeed a good person. Some reviewers felt this totally violates Schulz's original comic, as Charlie Brown ''never'' wins. Others felt that having Chuck not lose is a nice change of pace (and Schulz himself did show some lament that he didn't ThrowTheDogABone where Charlie Brown was concerned in the later years of his life), making the LRHG Charlie Brown's pen pal is a good compromise, and that some traditions are meant to be broken; there's also the opinion that the ending balances out the excessively ''cruel'' endings to some of the earlier specials. Plus, giving Charlie Brown a happy ending here does make sense since Fox only had the rights to make one movie, with no suggestion of a sequel being made at the time (and even the upcoming movie by Wildbrain may not be set in the same continuity, despite retaining the artstyle)]].
* CaptainObviousReveal: It's pretty easy to tell [[spoiler: Charlie wrote his name on the wrong test]]. But enough happens in between that you might just forget it.
* HarsherInHindsight: The FreezeFrameBonus of Sally's response to winning the talent show being "I'm going to Disneyland!" -- while it at first [[HilariousInHindsight became more humorous when Disney bought 20th Century Fox]], this became tragically prophetic when in 2021, two years after the acquisition, Disney shut down Blue Sky Studios, and thus [[StillbornFranchise killed any hope for a sequel]].
* MagnificentBastard: In Snoopy's [[ShowWithinAShow novel]], the RedBaron is the UsefulNotes/WorldWarI Flying Ace's mysterious and menacing {{archenemy}} and [[AcePilot an even better pilot than him]], constantly getting the better of his opponent through cunning tricks and daredevil stunts. Introduced dogfighting the Ace, the Baron successfully downs his adversary by tricking him into crashing his plane into a river. Not long afterwards, the Baron captures Fifi by knocking her out of her plane and grabbing her as she parachutes to the ground, getting away by flying through a railroad tunnel right before a train enters it. When the Ace later confronts him again, he nearly maneuvers him into crashing his plane on the Eiffel Tower, then later shoots the Ace down when he realizes he followed him back to his base. During the final battle, the Baron more than holds his own, getting three allied aircraft into a position that lets him shoot them all down with one burst of gunfire before confronting the Ace as he attempts to retrieve Fifi from the Zeppelin she's being held aboard. Only losing due to a last-minute plan involving one of the Flying Ace's friends sabotaging his plane mid-flight, the Red Baron still escapes after the Ace is forced to break off his pursuit to save Fifi, making one final appearance during the end credits to playfully buzz the Ace's celebration before giving his WorthyOpponent a genuinely respectful thumbs-up.
* {{Moe}}: The Little Red-Haired Girl. All the other Peanuts characters might as well count too.
* SugarWiki/NoProblemWithLicensedGames: The movie's tie-in game ''Snoopy's Grand Adventure'' has been well received by gamers as an above-average platformer that can be played and enjoyed by both kids and adults. It also helps that the game isn't a re-telling of the movie.
* OlderThanTheyThink:
** Although it's a rarity, [[spoiler:this isn't the first time Charlie Brown ''wins'' in the end.]]
** This film is not the first time [[spoiler:The Little Red-Haired Girl had been shown on-screen, as she was previously shown on-screen in a few of the TV specials, most notably in ''It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown''.]]
** This is not the first ''Peanuts'' production to have different genres of music in its soundtrack beyond just smooth jazz, as ''WesternAnimation/SnoopyComeHome'' featured a very diverse, orchestral soundtrack from the Sherman Brothers (in fact, that film featured no jazz at all, unlike this film).
** The PaintedCGI, 2-D elements mixed with 3-D models, [[CheatedAngle Cheated Angles]], as well as the lower-than-usual frame rate of the film to match the TV specials, means it beat ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManIntoTheSpiderVerse'' by three years when it comes to cinematic animations in the PaintedCGI genre (the latter being widely considered to be the TropeCodifier in this regard).
* OneSceneWonder: Snoopy's siblings -- his sister Belle and his brothers Spike, Olaf, Andy, and Marbles -- are featured on the poster but only appear in the film in one of the mid-credits scenes, toasting Snoopy's successful rescue of Fifi with a round of root beers.
* {{Padding}}: Snoopy's side-adventure against the Red Baron is often considered as {{Filler}} by some people, in part because it interrupts the main story of the film.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** This version's Charlie Brown is voiced by Creator/NoahSchnapp, a.k.a. Will Byers from ''Series/StrangerThings.''
** In the Japanese dub, this was one of the earlier voice acting roles for Seiran Kobayashi as Sally, better known as Eri in ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' and Lop in ''Anime/StarWarsVisions''.
** In the Latin American Spanish dub, the same goes for Sally's voice actress, Nicole Florencia, before her StarMakingRole as [[Series/MsMarvel2022 Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel]].
* SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel: The entire film, but especially these moments:
** The song "Better When I'm Dancin" which can be heard throughout the film.
** [[spoiler:The Little Red-Haired Girl's words of encouragement to Charlie Brown near the end.]]
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks:
** Despite Blue Sky's best efforts to emulate Schulz's and Melendez's styles, some people still dismiss the movie for being CGI.
** Some fans are critical of the movie's soundtrack for mixing in orchestral music and pop songs with the franchise's classic themes, rather than having purely smooth jazz {{in the style of}} Vince Guaraldi. Those fans clearly ignore or forget ''WesternAnimation/SnoopyComeHome'', which had a very eclectic score (with no jazz) courtesy of Music/TheShermanBrothers... and that movie came out while Guaraldi was still alive!
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot:
** Let's be honest, how many of you assumed that [[spoiler:Snoopy would give his story to Charlie Brown after his book report got destroyed?]]
** Also, it would have been nice to see how everyone reacted to the reveal that [[spoiler:Peppermint Patty was the one who got 100% in her test]].
* UnexpectedCharacter: Snoopy's love interest Fifi, who only made one previous appearance in the animated special ''Life is a Circus, Charlie Brown''. But here she seems to be wholly [[ImagineSpot imaginary.]]
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The CGI is gorgeous in just how well it captures the style of the original comic and generally feels like a 2-D feature when it's actually 3-D.
* TheWoobie: Charlie Brown gets nothing right through the first half of the film and yet we feel sorry for him.
