* AccidentalInnuendo: [[http://9gag.com/gag/aqLKK8p/batmilk-for-all Bat-milk and cookies for everyone!]]
--> '''Shaggy''': (confused) Bat-milk?
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Just about everyone likes the Globetrotters episodes, especially for the higher amount of action and decent banter in them. Seems even Hanna-Barbera agreed as Scooby has met them the most out of the special guest stars.
* HarsherInHindsight: The episode that featured Music/TheMamasAndThePapas Cass Elliot owning a candy factory, and the many jokes made about her size and being a BigEater. And the episode's ending had Cass vowing a grapefruit diet. Almost a year later, Cass Elliot passed away at the age of 32 in her sleep from heart failure. Her death was due to prior crash dieting, which brought the 5′5″ Cass Elliot down to 238 pounds, which weakened her heart.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** A [[TheWildWest wild west]] AmusementParkOfDoom is ravaged by out-of-control animatronics, including a nasty gunslinger. Believe it or not, "Ghastly Ghost Town" predates Creator/MichaelCrichton's ''Film/{{Westworld}}'' by a whole year.
** One episode featuring Batman and Robin had the Joker creeping out everyone at a funhouse using a microphone. One starts to wonder how this Creator/EdwardGRobinson–type Joker would sound giving the "One bad day" speech from ''ComicBook/TheKillingJoke''.
** A promo for a ''Scooby-Doo Movies'' marathon on Cartoon Network had Shaggy prank calling Daphne in an obvious ShoutOut to ''Film/{{Scream}}''. Stu Macher's actor from ''Scream'', [[spoiler:who was the original Ghostface]], Creator/MatthewLillard, would go on to perform Shaggy in various ''Scooby-Doo'' projects.
** In "The Exterminator" with Creator/DonAdams, the gang has a vote on whether they think the house is haunted. Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne vote "yes", and in later seasons, the three of them -- along with Scrappy -- would have real adventures with ghosts without Fred and Velma, who voted "no".
** A Franchise with a history of crossing over with Franchise/{{Batman}}, and an episode featuring voice work from both Bob Hastings and Creator/MarkHamill?
** In "The Spirit Spooked Sports Show" Creator/MichaelBell voices the bespectacled Jesse Finster. 18 years later he would voice [[WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}} another glasses wearing]] [[WesternAnimation/AllGrownUp man named Finster.]]
* MemeticMutation:
** "The feeble-minded fools." [[labelnote:Explanation]] In 2023, it became popular for users of Website/YouTube to upload a clip from "The Caped Crusader Caper" in which Fred attempts to catch the Joker and Penguin off-guard by hiding inside a rolling tire headed straight towards the villains. The Penguin uses the quoted line to laugh off Fred's attempt to trip them up… only for it to work anyway because [[FailedASpotCheck they failed to notice that Fred was holding a broom out of the tire's sides]], sending the two airborne on impact.[[/labelnote]]
** "Come back here and fight like a man, you vegetable!" [[labelnote:Explanation]] [[https://youtu.be/6FaXtS3sBlE?si=NcktQf3XpIq_5TWq A particular scene]] from "Ghastly Ghost Town" wherein Fred attempts to chase down a person in a cactus costume who has been following he and Daphne around as they wander the desert, with him shouting this line as he does so. The clip gained some notoriety in the late 2010s-early 2020s because of the sheer absurdity of the scene, especially when viewed out of context.[[/labelnote]]
* SpiritualSuccessor:
** The ''ComicBook/ScoobyDooTeamUp'' comic series, which has the same basic principle as this series: OncePerEpisode Scooby and the gang are called upon and/or team up with a guest (or guests) to solve a mystery. The main difference is that the majority of the guest characters here tend to be Creator/DCComics superheroes (ComicBook/{{Batman}}, ComicBook/{{Superman}}, ComicBook/WonderWoman, et al.) or fellow Creator/HannaBarbera characters (e.g., WesternAnimation/JonnyQuest, WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones, and even HB FunnyAnimal characters like WesternAnimation/SecretSquirrel and WesternAnimation/QuickDrawMcGraw) rather than popular celebrities at the time.
** 2018 would see the announcement of an even straighter successor in the form of ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndGuessWho'', whose premise is essentially that of this show, only featuring more contemporary (and not-so-contemporary) guests such as Bill Nye, Jaleel White (as [[Series/FamilyMatters Steve Urkel]]), Kenan Thompson, Mark Hamill, and more (plus some old friends like Batman).
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: Since Creator/HannaBarbera couldn't afford the rights to "Sweet Georgia Brown" for the Globetrotters episodes, a soundalike is used. It's the Ted Nichols score from the Globetrotters' own cartoon (1970).
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Despite an episode featuring WesternAnimation/JosieAndThePussycats (and mention of a benefit concert), we never get any songs from the group, not even their theme song.
* UnfortunateCharacterDesign: The outfits of the villains in "Mystery of Haunted Island" and "Weird Winds of Winona" look like Ku Klux Klan uniforms. Not helping is that the former episode involves a group of white men sabotaging an all-black basketball team.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Likely applies to this more than any of the other ''Scooby-Doo'' shows. While modern-day kids will almost certainly know who Batman and Robin, Series/TheAddamsFamily, and WesternAnimation/TheHarlemGlobetrotters are, and probably even Film/TheThreeStooges (although they may be confused by [[SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute Curly Joe]][[note]]this has to do with the fact that Curly Joe was the last surviving member of the original Stooges as both Shemp and Curly Howard were long dead by the time the crossover happened[[/note]]), Creator/DonKnotts, Creator/LaurelAndHardy, and Creator/DonAdams (or at least his voice), most of the other celebrities and characters will likely just leave them scratching their head as to exactly who they're supposed to be. Similarly, those fans unaware that [[Series/IDreamOfJeannie Jeannie]] had [[WesternAnimation/{{Jeannie}} her own animated spin-off]] will definitely be wondering why she's hanging out with two teenage boys and a bumbling fellow genie instead of Major Nelson and Major Healey[[note]]Said teenage boys, Corry and Henry are not only stand-ins for Nelson and Healey, but are also {{expies}} of Fred and Shaggy[[/note]].
* ValuesDissonance:
** ''[[spoiler:The Secret of Shark Island]]'' has an UndercoverCopReveal where the cop is DisguisedInDrag. He cheerfully claims this is because the villains would never suspect a woman of being an undercover police officer.
** When the gang investigates at Dick Van Dyke’s carnival, Daphne stops at a photo booth to have her picture taken for Dick to remember the day, indicating she’s attracted to him despite the fact he is old enough to be her father. Given how inappropriate that would be today, it’s unlikely you would see something like it on a children’s cartoon.
