| * ContestedSequel: Of a sort. The initial set of the relaunch (''Avatar'' through roughly ''Worlds of [=DS9=]'') are still heavily praised by a majority of readers. But after the time jump to the period after ''Literature/StarTrekDestiny,'' when the novels are solely written by David R George III, and much of the cast have changed positions or even left the station entirely, you find a much more divided opinion in the fan base of the quality of the novels. While they're technically a unified line, the time jump makes for enough of a dividing line that makes a pretty easy way to simply stop reading where the reader is comfortable. |
| * MoralEventHorizon: See [[MoralEventHorizon/StarTrek here]]. |
| * NightmareFuel: The Kurlan Takers of Gist. |
| * TearJerker: Shar and his zhavey reconciling in ''Worlds of Deep Space Nine: Andor'': |
| -->"it is not in our people's nature to be alone". |
| ** [[spoiler: Thriss' suicide]]. |
| ** [[spoiler: Stessie dying, and her final goodbye with Glessin]]. |
| ** [[spoiler: Garak: "There is no home anymore! Can't you see, it's gone!"]] |
| ** [[spoiler: Taran'atar altering his BadassCreed before his HeroicSacrifice. "I am dead. I go into battle to reclaim my life. This, I do gladly, for I am Jem'Hadar. This, I do gladly...for my friend Kira Nerys."]] |
| * TheWoobie: Quite possibly Taran'atar, of all people. Also, things often go badly for Kira. But she keeps on trucking: an IronWoobie. |
