1* ContestedSequel: This is easily the most divisive of the five novels that Creator/DouglasAdams worked on, with some fans hailing it as an unsung classic for giving Arthur some much-needed character development and building up to a genuinely touching conclusion, and other fans accusing it of being a meandering and inconsequential book which contains too much corny sentiment.
2* TearJerker: At the end of the book, Marvin, who (thanks to time travel) is 37 times older than the universe and has had all of his body parts replaced multiple times (except for the diodes on his left sides that have been paining him for all his existence), ... But not before reading God's last message to his creation saying, His words? "I think... I feel good about it."
3** The tear-jerking implication is that he only thinks he feels good about it... because he's never felt good about anything before and doesn't know how it's supposed to feel.
