* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Was Mickey's refusal to take a dive in his first fight against one of Brick Top's fighters really because he was playing his own angle, as Turkish says, or was he going to do as he was asked until he was pushed too far? Notably, after being told to go down in the fourth, he tells Turkish "just make sure he doesn't fuckin' kill me before the fourth" and generally seems agreeable to going through with the fix ... until he is taken by surprise when Bomber Harris headbutts him for no reason while the ref is giving instructions. When Mickey [=KOs=] Harris mere moments later, is it because he had never planned to go through with the fix, [[RageBreakingPoint because he was infuriated by what the cheap shot Harris his him with]], or did instinct kick in after being caught by surprise and [[ReflexiveResponse he threw his KO punch out of reflex]]?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cl0AzVf74yI Diamond]]" by Klint that plays over the montage introducing all the main characters.
** "Golden Brown" by Music/TheStranglers during the scene when Mickey knocks out Gorgeous George and "Fuckin' in the Bushes" by Music/{{Oasis}} for Mickey's last fight are particularly excellent examples.
** "Disco Science" by Music/{{Mirwais}} during the hare coursing scene (intercut with Errol capturing Tyrone) definitely qualifies for this.
** Music/MassiveAttack's "Angel" is perfect for making [[spoiler:the burning camper scene]] all the more intense.
* CatharsisFactor: Seeing Brick Top's organisation come crashing down around him all because of a group of pikeys is so damn satisfying.
* CompleteMonster: [[LondonGangster "Brick Top" Pulford]] is a ruthless underground fight promoter with a penchant for DisproportionateRetribution. Brick Top is [[EstablishingCharacterMoment introduced]] having a traitor, as well as the one who reported the traitor to him, tasered, suffocated with plastic bags, dismembered, and FedToPigs. When a gang of Yardies rob his bookkeepers, he attempts to murder them, only releasing them when they promise to give him a diamond they have stolen, giving them 48 hours to give him said diamond. When Turkish informs Brick Top about the demands their fighter, a [[UsefulNotes/IrishTravellers Traveller]] named Mickey, is making, Brick Top has Turkish's slot machines vandalized, and has Mickey's mother burned to death in her caravan. Subsequently, Brick Top threatens to massacre Mickey's entire clan if he doesn't throw the fight.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: Often, the plot is so ridiculous that the violence circles all the way back to being funny. One example is the car accident scene, which has to be seen to be believed.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Bullet-Tooth Tony doesn't appear until at least the second half of the film, but is extremely popular due to being a suave, MadeOfIron GeniusBruiser played by Creator/VinnieJones who spouts a FountainOfMemes.
** Tyrone, the bumbling plus size getaway driver who has a couple moments of surprising competence. Some fans like him slightly better than his companions Sol and Vinny, even though he has a much smaller role than they do.
** Doug the Head's twin daughters are only in a couple of scenes, but make a good impression by being {{Hypercompetent Sidekick}}s and {{Deadpan Snarker}}s.
* EvilIsCool: One could argue Bullet-Tooth Tony is more of an AntiHero than an outright villain, but he still qualifies due to his suave attitude, being a FountainOfMemes, surviving quite a few instances that would've killed anyone else, his "Desert Eagle point-five-oh" speech and the fact that he's played by Creator/VinnieJones make him one of the best remembered characters in the film. Boris the Blade also counts for similar reasons.
* FanPreferredCutContent: Some people who've seen the deleted scenes think that a couple of them let several characters be particularly impressive and deserved to stay in.
** Brick Top getting a fake diamond from Sol and Vinny and trying to sell it to Avi. Whether they think the scene should have stayed in or not, fans love seeing Brick Top's [[TheDragon dragon]] and Tony face off and Brick Top meeting someone who scares him as much as he scares everyone else. Also, they feel that it gives additional context to why Brick Top let Sol and Vinny go in the first place.
** Frankie trying to escape from Sol, Vinny, and Tyrone is pretty cool and adds to their hilarious incompetence.
* HesJustHiding: The popularity of [[spoiler:Tony]], the suddenness of his off-screen death, the fact that no one is shown checking his vital signs, and how he'd survived a lot worse before can inspire this. The same goes for [[spoiler: Boris the Blade]], who is jokingly said to still be alive on account of being [[MadeOfIron shown as utterly unkillable.]] It helps that [[NeverFoundTheBody we never see either of the bodies]].
* GeniusBonus: Avi sneeringly refers to Boris as a "Cossack". Cossacks were responsible for anti-Jewish pogroms in Russia, so this is a great insult for the Jewish Avi.
* HilariousinHindsight:
** Turkish frequently jokes about "Ze Germans" to Tommy. Stephen Graham would later Sgt. Myron "Mike" Ranney in ''Series/BandOfBrothers''.
** A skinny Irish boxer with a penchant for knocking out opponents in a single well-timed punch? Weirdly reminiscent of [=Connor MacGregor=], huh?
* HoYay: Turkish and Tommy are HeterosexualLifePartners who get these jokes in-Universe, such as Tommy repeatedly being referred to as Turkish's "girlfriend" or "lady friend".
* ItsTheSameNowItSucks: The movie is very similar in style, theme, setting and characters to Guy Ritchie's earlier ''Film/LockStockAndTwoSmokingBarrels'', so while ''Snatch'' was still more or less well-received, most of the criticism revolved around Ritchie essentially retreading old ground. Of the two films, many people tend to prefer whichever one they saw first.
* JerkassWoobie: Cousin Avi isn't a nice man by any means -- in any other movie he'd probably be the villain -- but he's subjected to so many indignities over a diamond that is (sort of) supposed to be his anyway that by the end you almost start feeling sorry for him. It also helps that he appears to be a relatively BenevolentBoss to his employees and, compared to some (hello Brick Top) is far from being a CompleteMonster. ([[spoiler:Appropriately, he does get (implicitly) his diamond [[ThrowTheDogABone in the end]].]])
* LoveToHate: Brick Top is the worst sort of LondonGangster, but is very well-written and played with a menacing charisma by Alan Ford that makes him as fun to watch as it is satisfying when it all comes crashing down for him.
* MagnificentBastard: Mickey O'Neil is an UsefulNotes/{{Irish Traveller|s}} introduced scamming Tommy and knocking out his hired muscle. When Tommy and Turkish ask him to be a replacement boxer for "Brick Top" Pulford's fight, he agrees to their stipulation that he go down in the fourth round, only to bet on himself and knock out his opponent with one punch. When Brick Top demands he fight again and this time go down in the fourth round, Mickey refuses, which leads to Brick Top burning his mother alive. Mickey decides to fight and waits until the fourth round of his next fight to knock out his opponent. Having bet on himself again, and only waiting that long to let his allies get into position to massacre Brick Top's organization, Mickey shows that if someone metaphorically or literally knocks him down, he will get back up and knock them right out.
* MemeticBadass: Boris the Blade and Bullet-Tooth Tony, given their cool names and the number of fights they win and threats they survive.
* MemeticMutation: "You can call me Susan if you like" and Brick Top's "Greedy as a pig" speech often show up on the Internet.
* MoralEventHorizon: In response to learning that Mickey wants a caravan for his mother in exchange for fighting, Bricktop responds by having Mickey's mum's caravan burnt down. [[spoiler:While she's still in it.]]
* NightmareFuel: Brick Top in general. Particular mention goes to his calm, matter-of-fact lecture on the best method to dispose of a body. Doubles as NauseaFuel.
-->'''Brick Top:''' You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion...You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".
* OneSceneWonder: The agent at Brick Top's bookie's (played by an uncredited Sidney Sedin), whose attitude during the entire robbery scene can best be described as "bored resignation" whether explaining why there isn't any money or thwarting the robbery single-handedly.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Avi using the Concorde to fly from New York to London. The plane would be retired in 2003, just three years after the film was released. Also, the only notable appearances of a mobile phone in the whole film is Tony answering his car phone at one point and Doug The Head answering his while it plays a Jewish ringtone.
* ValuesDissonance: The characters casually refer to the travelling community as pikies, gypsies or "gyppos". The former two have historically been used to demean them as dishonest thieves while the latter term is equivalent to calling them groups of LowerClassLout.
