1	* {{Adorkable}}: Rinne at least always tries to remain serious and tough but he's more of a dork than he lets on, especially when Sakura is involved, and can be adorable in those moments--just look at this kid [[LuminescentBlush blush!]]
2	* JerkassWoobie: It's hard not to feel bad for Kain, as antagonistic as he is to Rinne, since Sabato keeps swindling money from his mother.
3	* HilariousInHindsight:
4	** Rinne's father is voiced by Creator/KappeiYamaguchi, aka Manga/InuYasha and [[Manga/RanmaOneHalf Ranma Saotome]]. The hilarity came with the fact, at least with the western audience, ''everyone'' was expecting Yamaguchi to voice Rinne instead, taking into account he worked voicing the main character in two previous works from the same author.
5	** Rinne's mother [[spoiler:is voiced by Creator/MegumiHayashibara, Ranma Saotome's ''other'' half]]. Fitting that the parents of the newest lead of the Rumic World are portrayed by the actors of a predecessor.
6	* HoYay: Majority of the AmbiguouslyGay Matsugo's interactions with Rinne is exactly how any obsessed person would act with their crush.
7	* NightmareFuel:
8	** In chapter 63, there's an extremely small mini-shrine with small children's hands coming out of it, asking for help. VIZ even typed out the multiple "Saaaaave ussss~" requests in a spooky font. It's probably one of the creepiest moment in the entire series.
9	** Chapter 159 is truly frightening for entomophobes, as it features the ghost of a cicada possessing a student in the folk singing club, and the results are not pretty...
10	* TheUntwist: Some of the "big" twists are deliberately predictable due to the way the series doesn't take itself seriously. Some of these twists include:
11	** Rinne's grandmother Tamako being the one who brought Sakura back from the land of the dead.
12	** The "beautiful secretary's" identity (Ageha's sister) and name (Bijin/Beautiful).
13	* TheWoobie: It's pretty much impossible to ''not'' feel sorry for Rinne. With the way his life is thanks to Sabato's schemes amongst other things, he really deserves a hug (and maybe some more offerings at the weather hutch).
