* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Tick Tock the Crocodile in this show occasionally passes up opportunities to eat Hook, and when he tries it's less intense of an effort compared to the original film. Is this just a byproduct of the show being LighterAndSofter, or has the croc actually figured out that [[AndThenWhat he'll lose his purpose in life if he succeeds]] and is trying to drag the chase out for as long as humanly possible?
* {{Anvilicious}}: With any {{Aesop}} they have, they can't drive it home enough. And then they sing about it.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Any song Peter Pan partakes in in the "Peter Pan Returns" special. That boy can ''sing!'' And it's not just that, with the series as a whole being packed with good songs, a good portion being thanks to Captain Bogg and Salty as some of the series' composers.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: Too many to count.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Again, too many to count.
* GrowingTheBeard: Season 2 fleshes out the world of Neverland more, with a better emphasis on finding actual treasures and FakeInteractivity being almost non-existent. Hook and Smee are also used to much more imaginative and funny means than just "stealing X of the day". ''Captain Jake and the Neverland Pirates'' grows the beard even further by having removing most if not all traces of FakeInteractivity and further ramping up the action adventure elements that wouldn't feel out of place in an ARPG.
* HilariousInHindsight: In "Jake and the Great Neverland Rescue", Peter Pan guides Jake in saving the magic of Neverland. Months later, another boy was guided by Pan to save Neverland's magic...[[Series/OnceUponATime and it was a trick, with the boy (temporarily) dying as a result.]]
* HoYay: Being lightened up for a younger audience, Hook's relationship with Smee has been Ho Yay-ified tenfold to any older viewers. There's much more hugging, many more sweet gestures, an entire episode about the two riding a tandem bike, and even Smee suggesting the trophy he made for Hook should have been for [[DoubleEntendre "Tastiest Captain"]] rather than "Meanest". Smee even calls the man fetching and "dear Captain Hook sir". Hook not being able to threaten Smee with a gun also makes any squabbles feel much more like marital argueing, and outside of being simple throw-away gags, you have to wonder about some of Hook's alternate hands. Like [[FriendlyTickleTorture a feather]]? Kinky.
** The picnic episode is lousy with this. Hook is just so helpless without Smee, and is so ''hurt'' when he sees him with Jake and company. And when they're reunited and all air is cleared, they both get all sappy and make up just like a couple of giddy girl friends.
-->'''Smee:''' [chuckle] He's just so ''lost'' without me..!
** How 'bout Smee treating an injured Hook and singing him the boo-boo song? That whole thing was adorable.
* JustHereForGodzilla: The PeripheryDemographic will gladly admit to watching just for the antics of [[EnsembleDarkhorse Hook and Smee.]] Some also get excited by those episodes where other characters from the original film, like Peter Pan or Wendy, show up.
* MemeticMutation: [[http://31.media.tumblr.com/c94941be8fce40c3448e9ca8873d3fc8/tumblr_n3k75fN2FR1spm17no1_500.jpg "A good pirate never takes another person's property!"]][[labelnote:Explanation]] This image from one of the show's book releases was joked about since stealing people's property is what pirates are supposed to do. Often followed by the phrase [[ComicallyMissingThePoint "I'm not sure Disney understands this concept very well."]] The show usually features one of these "Pirate Pledges" at the beginning of each episode.[[/labelnote]]
* MoralEventHorizon: In pretty much all media Hook's done some pretty evil stuff, and even for a preschool show he managed to do one particularly ruthless act befitting his film version: [[spoiler: throwing Tinker Bell into the Never Sea in "Neverland Rescue"]] definitely qualifies as crossing the line.
* NightmareFuel: [[NightmareFuel/JakeAndTheNeverLandPirates Has its own page.]]
* PeripheryDemographic: There is a sizeable portion of the fanbase for this show that is composed of people ''way'' above the intended demographic, be it for Hook and Smee, the music, the charming nature of the series, or even the visuals. If that's not enough, the series even once dethroned '''''WesternAnimation/MickeyMouseClubhouse''''' as Disney Jr.'s most popular children's series.
* UglyCute: Tick Tock. He's just so goofy-looking in the show that he comes off as adorable.
** The baby crocodiles seen at the end of one episode as well. (You can see them at the end of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDuKrQs4OeU this official video]].)
* TheUntwist: If the robes don't do it for you, then the flying fairy-like light around the mysterious man in ''Jake and the Great Neverland Rescue'' makes it obvious that it's [[spoiler: Peter Pan and Tinker Bell]].
