* AccidentalInnuendo: ''Chill Manor''[='s=] intro has Ophelia Chill shake her butt in your face while singing about how her "nasties will distract you". Naturally, lots of people wonder what she calls her "nasties".
* AllAnimationIsDisney: Many people were quick to come to the conclusion that the game was a Platform/PhilipsCDi game because the cutscenes share the same art-style. While the cutscenes were animated by the same people who did the cutscenes for ''VideoGame/HotelMario'' and ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaCDIGames'' (arguably, the games the system is best known for), the game itself is from a different company on a completely different platform.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The opening song by I.M. Meen is often regarded as a very catchy and memorable VillainSong. Many fans have made remixes and covers of it.
* CargoShip: I.M. Meen and the book that sucks the player in. Yes, really.
* GoddamnedBats: The spiders. They appear throughout the game, move and attack quickly, and often attack in groups.
* HamAndCheese: Meen hams it up with the best of them.
-->'''I.M. Meen''': "Lost? Frightened? ''Confused?'' '''''[[IShallTauntYou GOOD!]]''''' AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
* JustHereForGodzilla: I.M. Meen himself is the only reason the game is remembered; with his [[EvilIsHammy hammy]] personality being a source of a many of memes.
* MemeticLoser: I.M. Meen is infamously regarded as an utterly pathetic and ineffectual villain due to the fact that he and his guardians get defeated and his labyrinth gets destroyed by a simple ''child'' with a ''[[WeaksauceWeakness good grammar]]''.
* MemeticMolester: Meen, despite his [[ChildHater clear hatred of children]], is often seen as a pedophile, mostly because of how he kidnaps them. Gnorris sometimes gets the same treatment.
--> [[LastSecondWordSwap "I've got a little SECRET..."]]
* MemeticMutation: As this was animated by the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaCDIGames CD-i Zelda]] guys, this was a given.
** The entire I.M. <verb> meme centers around the character.
** "Lost? Frightened? Confused? GOOD! [[EvilLaugh Nha ha ha ha ha ha ha!]]"
* NarmCharm: Meen is so over the top that it's impossible to be taken seriously. Of course, the Narm is what makes this game memorable; it does not detract from the gameplay, instead adding a quirky personality that helps to distinguish this game from other shooters and endeared a lot of people to it, guaranteeing virtual immortality via things like [=YouTube=] Poops.
* NightmareFuel: Being an edutainment game, Meen would be pretty scary if you were 6 or so.[[note]]Probably why the game has a sticker saying that it's recommended for children 9 and up.[[/note]]
** This particular cutscene: "[[DerangedAnimation Lost?]] [[NightmareFace Frightened?]] Confused? '''[[{{Jerkass}} GOOD!]]'''" Cue EvilLaugh.
** This other cutscene qualifies: Meen looking in a mirror and says "Mirror mirror, on the wall... There's a bookworm in the hall..." [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou He turns to face the player,]] shouts "Buuuuuuuut not for long!", and walks off while laughing. It should be noted that this is one of the very few cutscenes where Meen's face has a more detailed look to it, and it makes him look legitimately threatening and scary.
** The sequel, ''Chill Manor'', has some really surprising moments, like some pictures suddenly coming alive after you grab an important item. Not to mention that if you lose, Ophelia Chill uses the book of ages to [[RetGone erase you from history.]] Or if you prefer a lighter and softer interpretation, Ophelia simply erases your identity, wherein you are left as someone with no memory.
* SoBadItsGood: The genuinely fun gameplay is heightened even further by the hilarious cutscenes.
* WatchItForTheMeme: This game would probably be a forgotten title in early 90s educational computer games if it weren't for the infamous animated cutscenes.
