1	* AluminumChristmasTrees: Window taxes, such as the one in Altdorf that Felix got into trouble for protesting against when he first met Gotrek, were a real thing in 18th and 19th Century Europe. They were intended as a way to tax income without actually having an income tax (as the public felt that the government had no right to ask everyone what they made in a year so they could tax it), on the theory that wealthier people would own larger houses, which would have more windows. The tax dodge of sealing up windows to lower the taxes was also fairly common, though corrupt tax collectors knocking holes in walls and taxing the hole as a window probably wasn't. And though they didn't escalate to riots IRL the way the protests Felix was part of did, such taxes were highly unpopular, as the public felt that they were taxing people's access to light and fresh air.
2	* AssPull: To justify his change of [[spoiler:Ulrika]] from a von Carstein vampire to a Lahmia one, Long come up with the excuse in Bloodborn that the blood of vampires is mixed because relations between members of different Bloodlines are quite common so, regardless of the clan to which the vampire parent belongs, his offspring may be part of a different clan. This is not only something that has never been insinuated in other works, but rather contradicts the established Canon itself. This kind of thing got a better explanation later; von Carstein is a bloodline in it's own right, but the name is ''also'' used by vampires of other bloodlines who swear allegiance to its leaders (even Mannfred is eventually revealed to be an adopted Lahmian in one branch of the vampire ContinuitySnarl).
3	* BrokenBase: Over the switch in authors from William King to Nathan Long.
4	* EnsembleDarkHorse: Thanquol the Grey Seer is a recurring enemy in the William King novels of the series, has several novels focused on himself, and has been a recurring official character in the Skaven army books for the TabletopGame/{{Warhammer}} game. In comparison, Gotrek and Felix themselves haven't had official game rules for several editions. To be fair, Thanquol can be portrayed pretty well on the tabletop since he isn't really too unusually powerful for a Grey Seer, but they only become more overpowered with each story. This was finally changed in ''Age of Sigmar'', where Gotrek has gods to fight.
5	* FanonDiscontinuity: To several fans, Nathan's novels are not worthy successors to the original works by William King, due to his radically different narrative style, retcons of several aspects of the material source and inconsistencies in continuity.
6	* IronWoobie: Gotrek, essentially, is this. Except, honestly, you might die if you hugged him.
7	* StrangledByTheRedString: [[TeethClenchedTeamwork Felix and Siobhain]] (leader of [[AmazonBrigade the shaman's bodyguards]] in ''Giantslayer'') are implied to have hooked up between then and ''Elfslayer'' despite their lack of chemistry and Siobhain's [[InterspeciesRomance attraction to Teclis]].
