2	** [[AmbitionIsEvil Kazukiyo Gowa]] is the eldest son from the Gowa family. He assassinates a minister of justice in [[MakeItLookLikeAnAccident what looks like a tragic road accident]] to enhance his own power, and has soldiers injected with a [[PsychoSerum serum]] to mutate and [[DrivenToMadness drive them insane]], forcing them to pilot mecha for 36 hours straight in life-threatening situations while providing assistance to a coup that could throw Japan into chaos. Kazukiyo uses his own little sister Misuzu in an experiment due to her powers as a kai, [[{{Patricide}} murdering his own father]] to obtain further power while attempting to throw Japan into chaos and war so he may rise to the top.
3	** [[PredecessorVillain Tsuna Watanabe]], Kazukiyo's ancient predecessor, was a [[AmbitionIsEvil power-hungry]] warlord. Leading a campaign to seize control of Japan, resulting in massive casualties, Watanabe summons the Gasaraki firestorm to [[KillItWithFire immolate the city of Kyoto]]. When the hero Yushiro refuses to allow this, Watanabe has him tortured by [[{{Kneecapping}} having arrows shot into his knees]].
4	* NightmareFuel: During the final battle, [[spoiler: where the artificial muscles in Yushiro's TA break out of their confines and begin wrapping around the opposing Mecha to merge with it's artificial muscles, the end result is the enemy mecha getting crushed in a bearhug.]]
5	** The "Firestorm of Gasaraki" that occurs during the flashback to [[FeudalJapan Feudal-era Japan.]]
6	** The Kugai. Its introduction is essentially a MookHorrorShow; even though it has no ranged weapons, and is explicitly ''not'' invulnerable to the weapons of SYMBOL's Fakes, the pilots can't do much more than scream in terror as it rips the Fakes apart with its bare hands.
7	* NotSoCrazyAnymore: The United States invades a Middle-Eastern dictatorship using bad intelligence data in pursuit of weapons of mass destruction that apparently never existed...
8	** Also the idea of using unmanned flying/gliding drones for reconnaissance.
