* DesignatedHero: The three heroic space women barely do anything against the alien threat and the giant monsters (out of necessity because all the fights are reused StockFootage).
* FranchiseOriginalSin: The primary reason this is universally seen as the worst Gamera movie by far is because it takes all the flaws of prior films up to eleven and doesn't even include new Gamera fights or enemies that would make the rest tolerable, like before.
* {{Narm}}: It’s really hard to take the alien threat of the movie seriously when their spaceship is a distractingly blatant ripoff of [[Franchise/StarWars the Star Destroyer]].
* {{Sequelitis}}: Though most of the Showa era Gamera films have audiences due to their SoBadItsGood quality, this film still remains the most hated entry of all. Many criticizing the film for taking the series most hated tropes, such as the overuse of stock footage (even worse than past films) and over abundance of pandering to children by having a child protagonist, and cranking it up to eleven. Add on a completely nonsensical alien invasion plot and blatant plagiarism towards other famous films and one is in for a bad time.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: Exceptionally bad, even for ''this'' franchise, is all the new Gamera footage. The prop moves with less flexibility and emotion than a parade float.
* TheyCopiedItSoItSucks: A very common criticism of the film is how it poorly and blatantly attempts to capitalize on more successful sci-fi franchises of the time, specifically ''Franchise/StarWars'' and ''Film/SupermanTheMovie''.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The idea of Gamera facing off against all the monsters he fought before, and with three superpowered alien women backing him up, could've been a great premise for a movie. It could have even been Gamera's own equivalent of ''Film/GodzillaFinalWars'', albeit 24 years earlier. But due to having NoBudget, all the monster fights are just stock footage lifted from the previous movies, which also hampers any significant contribution that the space women could have made to fighting those monsters.
