* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Most of the nasty and antagonistic behavior of Lolo toward Spencer can be a way of hide or suppress her true feelings for him and even a way to draw his attention toward her.
** Mallory may be a passive BitchInSheepsClothing. While she is never outright mean to Spencer, she does tend to side against him a lot. The fact that she didn't seem to care that Lolo forced all the uncool students to spend school in a small trailer might also prove this. This interpretation is a major reason why she's barely shipped with Spencer despite being the person he crushes on in canon.
* AngstWhatAngst: Despite being dead, and having died fairly young to boot, Billy doesn't seem to dwell on it too much. A few episodes subvert this, though, such as "Where's Wendy?" and "Billy's Last Fan".
* AwesomeEgo: Billy's ego is absolutely ginormous, however, this is most likely what draws fans to the character.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The ambient music in the background is pleasing to the ear while you watch, not to mention the commercial place holding music is referencing old songs!
** Despite being called a hack on numerous occasions (usually for comedic effect), you have to admit that Billy is (well, ''was'') a fantastic guitar player and, overall, a genuinely talented musician.
** And as of "For The Birds", we get to hear Billy's wonderful singing voice.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6ZcY7KNG88 A compliation of Billy Joe Cobra singing.]]
* CargoShip:
** "Billy Joe Cobra Museum" features Billy becoming very possessive over a wax sculpture of himself.
** In "The Uninvited" he starts making out with a mask that looks like his face, complete with little hearts floating around him.
** In "Little Billy" he expresses a desire to stay home alone with a doll of himself and later kisses it...
* CrossoverShip: A few with WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom, both Spencer and Billy get crossover shipped with him in various fanworks.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The nameless man in "How to Impress Ladies" whose sole line is "Really incredible!" has been gaining quite a bit of popularity.
* HoYay: There is a very strong bromance between Spencer and Billy, [[{{Fandom}} some would even say]] [[FanPreferredCouple it crosses that line]]. However, due to the two being [[KissingCousins cousins]] (albeit who're very distantly related) this is borderline [[{{Squick}} squick]] for some, not to mention the fact that Billy is dead and Spencer's only 14 (although the counter arguement occasionally used regarding the last point is that Billy is stuck being the age he died while Spencer is still getting older).
** The ending of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwZBW7H_H8I this video]] sort of pushes it out of nowhere.
** The ending of "Billy Billy Billy Billy Billy" shows Billy and Spencer sleeping in the same bed.
** In "Three's a Crowd", Billy and Rajeev share a [[SweetheartSipping drink together]] while staring at each other.
* IdiosyncraticShipNaming:
** Ectofeature = [[IncestYayShipping Billy/Spencer]]
** Film sensation = [[AlternateUniverseFic Alive!Billy/Spencer]]
** Youngfame = Young and Alive!Billy/Spencer
** Bromighost = [[HeterosexualLifePartners Platonic Billy/Spencer]]
** Shanilly = Shanilla/Billy
* MemeticMutation:
** Actual anime girl Spencer Wright.
** Fans on tumblr love to take Billy's habit of finding different ways to call Spencer "bro" in their own hands, creating an army of bro puns Pewdiepie would be proud of.
* {{Moe}}: Mallory and Shanila.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: Compare one of the show's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6VOqSsBTT4U#t=77s/ commercial placeholders]] to Music/{{Prince}}'s classic tune [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtaAq8wDgq4/ "Kiss"]].
* TheWoobie: Billy, he's freaking dead!
** Bobby too. While he was a jerk, he's still dead, and he seems to be in his teens.
