* CrossesTheLineTwice: A ''LOT'' of the jokes in the OVA are this.
** Triple-Six having a prisoner executed for something beyond his control? Cruel and despicable! Said reason being that the prisoner defecates too much, disgusting him? Funny! Triple-Sixes method of execution being him simply calling Triple-Seven, who motionlessly descends from the ceiling with a wall-eyed expression on his face, and then killing the prisoner just by flicking him into a wall so hard it takes several other prisoners with him? HILARIOUS!!!
* EvilIsCool: Triple Six and Triple Seven. They're complete and utter badasses and the fact that they carry an entire armory of guns on their person like characters out of MediaNotes/TheDarkAgeOfComicBooks [[NarmCharm without a hint of irony, which doesn't make them any less cool]].
* HamAndCheese: '''Dear Lord'''...
* IronWoobie: [[spoiler:Pandy and Retro's child. Due to it growing from an infant to an adult in what seems to be under an hour, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome it has an absurdly short lifespan and goes from being a baby, to a child, then an adult, and finally an old man within the span of minutes]], and it spends the entirety of it's short, short life protecting it's parents without ever knowing what it's like to be at times of peace with them, with the closest thing that comes to that are it's final moments, where it opts to sacrifice itself to save Pandy & Retro, with it's first and last words being a melancholic "Mama" as it looks towards its mother one last time, as if to say "goodbye".]]
* MemeticMutation: "Have you seen my heliotrope?"
* NightmareFuel: Where to even start?
** Despite mostly being LaughablyEvil, Triple-Six is a prime example of this, given that he literally seems to exist in a constant emotional high due to his sheer bloodlust and sadism.
** How many of the prisoners die during the escape count as this, as their deaths are often EXTREMELY brutal, such as being pulped by the red polygonal robots, among other things.
** Galactica the Warden. She's a deranged cyborg who constantly makes HORRIFYING facial expressions, and is more than willing to [[spoiler:rip out the mutation gene cluster, which is located in the [[EyeScream red eye that Pandy has]] using a variety of sharp, extremely deadly looking tools.]]
* {{Squick}}: The aforementioned GagPenis/drill. [[spoiler:Once Chinko dies, Retro holds it...and white goo comes out the tip.]]
** Galaxia, the Warden, is pretty much naked under her cloak. What makes it squicky is that she’s a complete and utter madwoman, with a lot of nightmarish facial expressions.
* SugarWiki/SuperlativeDubbing: The dub is arguably better than the original, due to a lot of the voices sounding a lot more fitting for the characters appearances, such as Chinko Drill, who has a [[VocalDissonance soft, high-pitched voice befitting of a cute mascot character]], while his voice actor in the english dub gives him a more natural sounding yet high pitched voice. There's also the voice actors giving their characters more personality, such as the Sergeant being portrayed by his English voice actor as having a [[SouthernFriedPrivate thick southern accent]], befitting of his military-themed character.
* {{Tearjerker}}: [[spoiler:Pandy and Retro's baby sacrificing itself to kill the giant mutant caterpillar. Especially when it gives a longing look at it's parents and calls Pandy "mama" for the first and last time, as if it's trying to say [[PreSacrificeFinalGoodbye goodbye]]. It's entire short, short, existence also counts as this, given that it spends the literal entirety of it protecting its own parents without even getting to properly bond with them at all.]]
* {{Woolseyism}}: Arguably, the English dub makes it even better.
