1	* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Believe it or not. A standout track in the game is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw_GBPuJ71M Chex Museum]], especially when they break it all down near the end.
2	* CommonKnowledge: A few sources claim that ''HD'' was made in UsefulNotes/{{Unity}}, most likely due to the [[AllAnimationIsDisney basic feel of the game]], and the less-than-stellar polish. It was actually made using VideoGame/{{Unreal}} Engine 4. The game even makes this abundantly clear by showing its logo when you start it up.
3	* ContestedSequel: Reception for the HD remake is mixed to say the least. Some love the game for being a faithful reimagining of the original, while others see it as a soulless and clunky mess. [[ComplainingAboutThingsYouHaventPaidFor The fact that it's free]] is sometimes used to justify this.
4	* CultClassic: Despite being ''VideoGame/{{Doom}}'' [[GameMod but with child-friendly graphics]], it's managed to build up something of a small fanbase, to the point where it gained TWO sequels and a remake.
5	* FanNickname: The characters in the briefing cut-scene are all officially unnamed, but the General is usually referred to as "General Mills". In the opening of ''HD'', [[AscendedFanon this is on his name placard.]]
6	* {{Fanon}}: It is generally accepted that the Zorchers were used in mining before being converted into a weapon against the flemoids. This actually manages to explain their presence on Bazoik.
7	* FriendlyFandoms: With ''VideoGame/{{Doom}}'', by virtue of ''Chex Quest'' essentially being an official GameMod, but also due to ''Chex Quest'' being considered a fun game in its own right.
8	* GameBreaker:
9	** In ''Chex Quest 3'', Zorch Propulsor, a replacement for Rocket Launcher, lacks the splash damage the player may inflict upon themselves, so unless you do not have the LAZ (mentioned below), this weapon becomes very good in almost any situation.
10	** The LAZ (Large Area Zorcher). It is this game's replacement of the [=BFG9000=], so of course it was gonna shoot giant balls of energy capable of covering ''massive'' areas and taking down entire armies of Flemoids. The fact that the game makes it available as early as the second map makes it all the more broken. ''HD'' {{nerf}}ed it so it only gives you two rounds upon pick up as opposed to 40.
11	* NarmCharm: The introduction, which delivers the game's utterly ludicrous plot about cereal-eating aliens with complete sincerity.
12	* SugarWiki/NoProblemWithLicensedGames: You wouldn't think that a FirstPersonShooter based on a cereal brand and packaged with said cereal for free would turn out to be any good, but here we are. The games developed a cult following and even saw a third game released over a decade after the original.
13	* PeripheryDemographic: Despite being marketed to kids, it does have a good following amongst older folks who appreciate it as a well-done ''Doom'' reskin.
14	* ScrappyMechanic: One of the biggest complaints against ''Chex Quest HD'' is that the HUD of some of the playable characters is very intrusive due to covering up a lot of the screen, with Fred Chexter's being considered the worst of the lot. The development team later patched the HUD to be smaller in July 2020.
15	* SequelDifficultySpike: ''Chex Quest 1'' and ''2'' were made for children, and are pretty easy if you're even a bit experienced with shooters, and a walk in the park for anyone used to even vanilla ''Doom''. ''Chex Quest 3'' was made for audiences that had grown up with the game, and it shows: enemies are more numerous, there are more enemy types, some of which are actually stronger than their equivalents in ''Doom'', and health and ammo are nowhere near as common.
16	* SpecialEffectsFailure: While the game has some fairly charming hand-drawn graphics, the 3D CGI of the intro hasn't aged well. All the characters move really stiffly and the texturework is either underdetailed or overdetailed. A Chex advertisement shows parts of the intro with lower resolution, which helps obscure how overly busy some parts of the intro look.
17	* VindicatedByHistory: Believe it or not, upon release the game was [[CriticalDissonance dismissed by professional game reviewers]] as a ''Doom'' ripoff. The Chex Warrior character was also unfavorably compared to other cereal mascots. Nowadays it has a dedicated cult fanbase, largely due to its roots with ''Doom'', including the modding community.
