* AdaptationDisplacement: The Three Kingdoms motif has effectively obscured the BB Senshi continuity that the story is set in. It should be noted that the model kit numbers actually start from 300 onwards, indicating the sheer number of BB Senshi SD Gundams before them.
* CompleteMonster: Gathering of the Heroes; Clash of the Heroes; Battle of the War Gods: Shiba-I Sazabi is far viler in the manga than in the later anime. Becoming obsessed with the events in G Chronicles, Shiba-i sought to make the destruction of the world Mirisha a reality. To this end, Shiba-i manipulated Sousou Wing Gundam to launch a giant cannonball with enough gunpowder to engulf Mirisha in flames. After failing, Shiba-i begins to use the power of Dark Gyokuji to brainwash the soldiers of Giga Kingdom into zombie soldiers that were begging for death. Shiba-i later also summons the demon Shuu Neue Ziel to the world and sacrificed his own sons to it. When Shuu was slain, Shiba-i fused with its corpse and entered his Tenshihou form, absorbing his closest follower Kakuka who is trying to help him, ready to destroy Mirisha and recreate it in his own image. A psychopath that can't be trusted by anyone, Shiba-I has proven himself to be the greatest threat to Mirisha.
* CultClassic: Not many overseas Franchise/Gundam fans watch SD Gundam Sangokuden: Brave Battle Warriors, mostly due to the prejudice they have against Franchise/SDGundam as a whole thanks to Force, which Brave Battle Warriors came hot off of a few years after. Those who do watch it though absolutely LOVE it, making it the second most well-known work in the sub-franchise next to Force and a high recommendation by fans to those who wanna get into it. It’s to the point where it got a SpiritualSuccessor, Anime/SDGundamWorldSangokuSoketsuden.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Kan-U Gundam, Sonsaku Physalis, Sonken Dendrobium (combined with Tengyokugai Tiger Form), Bachou Blue Destiny, Moukaku Gundam and Kyou-I F91.
** Even after the anime finished airing, people are still holding out for a Kouten The O model.
** Kouseki Turn X, just for the NonstandardCharacterDesign.
* FanNickname: An early group of antagonists, pirates based on the Hydra Gundam, Leo-R and Aesculapius have been dubbed the "G-Unit Pirates". Also the series as a whole has the nickname SD Gundam VideoGame/DynastyWarriors.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** See FridgeBrilliance above; the Southern region of Albion may be established early in BB Senshi continuity, but bear in mind its leader Moukaku, based on the G Gundam - which got renamed for the US as Burning Gundam.
** When a Sangokuden rendition of Zhou Yu's understudy Lu Su was announced, the fans did not take too kindly to him being merely Shuuyu Hyakushiki recolored in grey. Then the [=DeltaPlus=] was announced...for context, the [=DeltaPlus=] is basically a [=HyakuShiki=] in grey with transformation enabled
** The Senjingasshin Shuu Gundam's combination gimmick, notably the limbs, was later reused for one of the Gashapon lineup for the Anime/GundamBuildDivers series, which can combine with the 1/144 scale kits.
** The previously bootlegged BB Senshi Sangokuden Gunplas produced by TT [=HongLi=] (or any other KO companies) uses Pinyin-based English names for the characters (including original, non-canon ones). However, in the official 10th anniversary releases; Bandai also uses similar naming to the kits, instead of opting Romaji-based names.
* MemeticBadass: Ryofu Tallgeese. Combining Lu Bu and the antagonist of Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing made this unavoidable, really.
* RetroactiveRecognition: Ryubi Gundam is voiced by Creator/YuukiKaji, merely a few years before he hit it big as Eren Yeager.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Manga-wise, Souhi Gundam. In contrast to his Comic World counterpart, Souhi shows little personality and does almost nothing to affect the series plot outside of appointing Shiba-I in charge of most matters of the country, getting a sudden headache when the Kibutei equipment is taken from him, and .
