* AdaptationDisplacement: For quite many people outside of the core markets of FrancoBelgianComics, this series was their first introduction to the series, before they realized that it was based on a comic book series.
* AmericansHateTingle: Despite being co-produced by Creator/HannaBarbera (which produced another series adapted from FrancoBelgianComics, WesternAnimation/1981, to great success in the USA), the 1983-1984 season of the series was a huge failure in the USA. The Western genre having faded out in popularity in the US since about the late '60s both on film and on television as well as English language translations of the comic books being fairly rare and obscure at the time probably didn't help.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The 1983 opening, which starts with an electric guitar, has become almost as iconic as "I'm a Poor Lonesome Cowboy" and it sounds awesome to every language it has been translated to.
** The manic 1991 opening with banjo, harmonica and honkytonk piano is no slouch either.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff:
** It was a big hit in UsefulNotes/Europe and helped skyrocket the comics' popularity.
** It was also popular in UsefulNotes/Turkey and it's the main reason why ComicBook/LuckyLuke is known in this country.
