* DirectorDisplacement: Executive producer Paul Henning was not involved in writing the show, but because of his success with ''The Beverly Hillbillies'' and ''Petticoat Junction'', people tended to attribute this one to him as well. After the show premiered, Henning took out an ad in ''Variety'' thanking critics who gave the show good reviews but making it clear that it was Jay Sommers they should have been praising, not him.
* FanonDiscontinuity: ''Return to Green Acres'' was made with no input from anyone who worked on the original show (in fairness, the two main writers of the series had both died several years before it was made), and the script was so different in tone from the original series that most fans don't consider it canon.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** Eva Gabor (Lisa) later went on to voice Duchess in ''WesternAnimation/TheAristocats'' and Miss Bianca in ''WesternAnimation/TheRescuers''.
** Creator/PatButtram (Mr. Haney) went on to voice Napoleon in ''WesternAnimation/TheAristocats'', the Sheriff of Nottingham in ''WesternAnimation/RobinHood1973'', Luke in ''WesternAnimation/TheRescuers'', and Chief in ''WesternAnimation/TheFoxAndTheHound''.
** Al Molinaro appeared in three episodes as various characters. He'd later play Al Delvecchio on ''Series/HappyDays''.
* SpoiledByTheFormat: In the first season, Oliver lets Lisa stay on the farm for six months, after which she gets to decide whether or not they moved back to New York. The episode "The Day of Decision" is all about Lisa making this decision; but considering that this episode only appeared halfway through the first season, and the show got five more seasons afterward, it should be obvious that she ultimately decides to stay in Hooterville.
* ValuesDissonance: On par with other sitcoms of the time. A few episodes feature HollywoodNatives, Mr. Haney using language that is now seen as politically incorrect, and the line in the theme song: "You are my wife/Goodbye city life!" (all fairly self-evident examples).
