* BadassDecay: It's become surprisingly easy for humans to beat up vampires. Even when the [[Wrestling/TripleH vampires]] are much, much larger than Creator/RyanReynolds.
* BaseBreakingCharacter: Creator/RyanReynolds is given copious amounts of screen time to deliver ad-libbed wisecracks despite being a sidekick. Fans are a bit divided as to whether this dragged the film down, helped redeem an otherwise mediocre film, or both. Patton Oswalt has said that the improvised jokes were mostly a result of Wesley Snipes' well-documented refusal to perform. The director encouraged the ad-libbing as it was all they had.
* BetterOnDVD: The 2-Disc DVD comes with an unrated edition with an improved ending, increased CharacterDevelopment, and better screen time with Creator/WesleySnipes.
* FanPreferredCutContent: David S. Goyer's original idea was a much darker story inspired by ''Literature/IAmLegend'' involving Blade in a vampire apocalypse.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Despite being the lowest-grossing of the 1990s/2000s ''Blade'' trilogy in North America, it was actually the ''highest''-grossing of the three in international territories, making it an overall quite profitable movie despite the poor reviews.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Everything Creator/RyanReynolds says, which makes fans think he is Film/{{Deadpool|2016}} in disguise after watching the Deadpool movies first.
** Creator/JamesRemar and Creator/DominicPurcell are both in this film. The would later go on to star in [[Series/BlackLightning2018 DC]] [[Series/LegendsOfTomorrow shows]].
* JustHereForGodzilla: A retroactive example. After Creator/RyanReynolds' increasing popularity in TheNewTens with his portrayal of Film/{{Deadpool|2016}}, among his other roles, some of his fans watch this movie just to see what he's doing in a lesser known Marvel movie.
* MoralEventHorizon:
** Dracula is quite capable of [[CurbStompBattle curbstomping]] Blade and is pretty much an unstoppable veteran warrior otherwise. [[spoiler:So when he infiltrates the Nightstalker's hideout and not only slaughters them all but goes out of his way to torture and crucify the blind and relatively helpless Sommerfield and then leave her naked, mutilated body strung up for her daughter to find, it eliminates all doubt in your mind that he deserves to meet his maker]].
** Danica Talos comes off as your typical [[BigBadWannabe villain that's more amusing than threatening]], and then she demonstrated a disturbing aptitude to do something without [[BigBad Dracula]] or [[TheDragon Vampire!Triple H]]: she became the only person who could get [[PluckyComicRelief Hannibal King]] to shut up by [[spoiler:telling him how she planned to turn him again, starve him, and then stick Zoe in the same room with him and watch Hannibal feed on her. The look on his face is heartbreaking.]]
** The entire vamp community took this level, when they started a blood farm. A room full of people who are put in chemically induced comas and kept alive long enough to harvest a load of blood. Blade even remarked that it was a [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything Vampire]] FinalSolution.
* {{Narm}}:
** Blade's reaction to [[spoiler:Whistler's death]] ruins what otherwise could have been a heartbreaking moment. It has Blade letting out an over-the-top DeathWail and then doubling over while pelvic thrusting. He then does a squat which makes it look like he's taking a dump and immediately goes into a fighting stance.
** Dracula's claim that he watched the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ will amuse any fans of ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' since they took the piss out of it [[Recap/BuffyTheVampireSlayerS2E3SchoolHard seven years earlier]].
* ReplacementScrappy: The Nightstalkers gang replaced the much more popular Whistler, who wound up [[DroppedABridgeOnHim under the bridge]] to make room for them. This is likely part of the reason for their poor reception.
* TheScrappy: The entire Nightstalkers gang (with the arguable exception of Hannibal King) are quite disliked in the franchise's fandom, as they are perceived to be basically a SpotlightStealingSquad which turns Blade into a secondary character in his own film and takes away both his badassery and his wisecracking to give them to King and Abigail.
* {{Sequelitis}}: The first two films were received with about the same overall approval, though [[ContestedSequel fans are divided as to which was their favorite]]. This, however, was almost universally considered as suffering from sequelitis.
* SoOkayItsAverage: It's the weakest of the ''Blade'' movies, sure, with a lot of wasted potential thanks to the troubled production, but it's still completely watchable at the least mostly thanks to Creator/RyanReynolds providing some much need levity to the film and some decent enough villains.
* SpecialEffectFailure: At one point, Blade opens what appears to be his obviously CGI eyes. Creator/WesleySnipes apparently refused to open his eyes for the camera, necessitating replacement eyes in post.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Or rather, they had too many plots -- Blade vs. Dracula, vampires using law enforcement to capture Blade, the human sleeper cells, the Vampire FinalSolution... They should have just concentrated on one [[TwoLinesNoWaiting or two]].
* VindicatedByHistory: Not so much the movie in general, but Hannibal King specifically, especially in the wake of Creator/RyanReynolds's [[Film/Deadpool2016 most famous role]]. At the time of the film's release he wasn't an especially well-liked character, especially for not resembling his comic book version very much; these days he's generally regarded as the best thing about the film, or at worst, an entertaining character who had the misfortune to be stuck in the wrong type of film.
