* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: The last line of "3 Thoughts".
* CommonKnowledge:
** Everybody knows "The Garden" is a tribute to Arvo Part... except it isn't. While Blixa has acknowledged the similarities, he says they are coincidental.
** It's well-known that the band started dressing more formally due to the fall of the Berlin Wall... except that's not the case. Ignoring that 3/5 of them didn't change their fashions at all, the ones who ''did'' change things up didn't do so for political reasons.
** Everyone knows Blixa isn't a vegetarian anymore... except that's not true. He did try reintegrating meat into his diet while living in China, but he went back to his previous ways after developing kidney problems and leaving China. Of course, that's assuming you considered him a vegetarian in the first place—he always ate seafood.
* EnsembleDarkHorse: F.M. Einheit, who was a percussionist for ''Einstürzende Neubauten'' from 1981 to 1995 and collaborated with music artists such as Music/{{KMFDM}}.
* FanNickname: Erin Zhu, the webmaster of neubauten.org, is often called "Webbie" by Supporters. Her husband, Blixa, is sometimes called "BB".
* FanonDiscontinuity: Several fans and media outlets quietly have little-to-no knowledge of Einstürzende Neubauten's 1980 debut ''Stahlmuzik'' and list the band's sophomore effort ''Kollaps'' as its first major release, despite the band's overall discography featuring '''12 studio albums.'''
* FriendlyFandoms:
** After the disestablishment of Music/TheBirthdayParty, plenty of Music/NickCave fans knew that Blixa Bargeld was a member of ''Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds'' until 2003. Neubauten's and Cave's respective fan bases do listen to both of their music.
** With Music/{{Kraftwerk}}. Both bands are experimental and pioneering acts from West Germany (albeit with rather different approaches to music). It's common for people to get into one band through the other.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** "The Garden" is a somewhat melancholic song on its own. If you take into account that it was probably one of the first tracks Neubauten did after F.M. Einheit's departure[[note]]he left the band while Blixa was on holiday, and Blixa would have killed ''Ende Neu'' as a result were it not for financial obligations to finish it[[/note]], you've got yourself a full-on TearJerker.
** "Zampano" is about a stalker ([[StalkerWithACrush with]] or [[StalkerWithoutACrush without]] a crush). It's a dark, intense song on its own. ''Then'' you learn that it was based on [[https://seelebrenntarchive.wordpress.com/2010/01/15/talk-of-silence/ Blixa's own experiences]] with a stalker (one he blames ''himself'' for having). Suddenly, the song becomes even darker.
* JustHereForGodzilla: Critics have [[https://www.musicallexikon.eu/inhalte/Andi cited Neubauten's work in ''Andi'']] as being one of the few good things—if not the ''only'' good thing—about the play.
* LGBTFanbase: A very sizeable one. It would be easier to list off the reasons they ''shouldn't'' have one, but suffice it to say that an androgynous, gender-subverting singer who kisses people of all genders and has referred to himself as nonbinary[[note]]admittedly, whether or not "Seven Screws" was intended as a coming-out song is a controversial topic among fans, but [[https://www.kkt.berlin/uploads/tx_alartistdatabase/PR_album_long_englisch.pdf a press release for ''Alles in Allem'']] suggests it is[[/note]] is going to bring in a queer fanbase. Blixa, for his part, is [[https://youtu.be/jAdlsi_wSUw?t=1583 aware of this fanbase]], and is [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments glad Neubauten's music is empowering to the community]].
* MemeticMutation:
** Andrew's heterosexuality.[[note]]In the biography ''No Beauty Without Danger,'' Alex all-but says outright that Blixa and F.M. had a romantic relationship, comparing it to his own with Christiane F. and calling it a "love story". Andrew ''immediately and intensely'' denies this, saying all of the Neubauten are either "real men" (the official English translation) or "straight wretches" (a popular fan translation), and that Blixa and F.M. were probably definitely not in love... NotThatTheresAnythingWrongWithThat. (For what it's worth, F.M. said that while he wouldn't call it a "love story", he was "attracted" to Blixa (and everyone else in the band). Blixa has remained mum on the subject.)[[/note]]
** "[throws pots and pans down the stairs] I love Einstürzende Neubauten"[[note]]a reference to the band's [[BizarreInstrument Bizarre Instruments]] and chaotic sound[[/note]]
* '''Main/NightmareFuel''': Most of their material can be this, especially their earlier works
