* HilariousInHindsight:
** The site that airs the Angry Dad cartoon is called "Betterthantv.com." When the episode first aired, online streaming was in its infancy and the episode ends with the site going under. However, come TheNewTens, streaming sites and the Internet have become massively popular and profitable, to the point that cable and free-to-air TV have declined.
** Creator/StanLee claims that he was actually able to turn into the Hulk one time. Come VideoGame/LEGOMarvelSuperHeroes, and he can do just that in gameplay.
** The Hulk and The Simpsons are now both owned by Disney.
** The line "Whoo-hoo! When do I get paid?". Now that 2012 has long come and gone, it's likely he probably still isn't getting paid.
** Bart and Homer discuss who will play him in Angry Dad: The Motion Picture. Seasons later, the cartoon is turned into a film.
** One of Bart's Angry Dad shorts involves the titular character pressing the wrong button during his job at the power plant, causing the cooling towers to explode into a mushroom cloud. Three seasons later, Homer himself would follow suit.
** At one point, Homer calls himself a "rageaholic".
* NauseaFuel: The vomiting ray scene from The Danger Dog Easter Special, particularly the moment where a kissing couple keep vomiting into each other's mouths.
* NotSoCrazyAnymore: At one point, Principal Skinner announces that "Pizza Day" has been renamed to "Italian-American Sauced Bread Day" in the name of PoliticalOvercorrectness. At the time (in the early 2000s), it was seen as an exaggeration of the concept, but in the late 2010s and beyond, it was actually tame compared to some of the things people would be accused of political incorrectness forIndeed, a 2017 episode has a professor fired for referring to God as a "he", while another character gets called "worse than Hitler" for using the word "fellow".
* SignatureScene: Homer transforming into the Hulk.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece:
** The episode is focused on the flash cartoons that were popular around 2001.
** Bart's line about being "in cyberspace, next to the Nabisco cookie website" also qualifies, since Nabiscoworld.com was shut down in 2013 after the company was acquired by Mondelēz International.
** The Bin Laden in a Blender cartoon dates this episode to the post 9/11 period before Bin Laden's death in 2011.
** Creator/StanLee's guest appearance places the episode before his death in November 2018.
