* JerkassWoobie: Whether deliberately or a case of UnintentionallyUnsympathetic, in contrast to the "tragically misguided antagonists" in earlier stories, Kyrie is not very likeable. Petulant, self-centered and violent, she comes across as not only obsessed but borderline deranged. (Her [[spoiler: shooting of Rein]] in particular borders on KickTheDog.) On the other hand, when events turn against her they turn ''hard'', and it is difficult not to feel sorry for her by the end of ''Reflection''.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGIKucBJi4Q&t=68s "Futatsu No Hoshi"]] sounds very similar to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H0JDomv8ac "Arrival to Earth"]] from Michael Bay's Transformers film series. Given how ''Reflection'' is littered with humongous mecha compared to past installments and the creator of the ''Nanoha'' being an avid mecha fan; This comes off as unintentionally ironic.
* UnexpectedCharacter:
** Shario probably wasn't very high on the list of characters that fans expected to appear, in part because the movie takes place before Nanoha and the gang met her in canon. To say nothing of the fact that Arisa and Suzuka's parents also show up, only one of which had ever been mentioned before (and that was in the light novel adaptation of the first season).
** Chapter 6 of the manga featured a cameo of Misato Mikami (Nanoha's paternal aunt), somebody who hasn't been seen or mentioned since the ''Triangle Heart 3'' OVA, ''15 years'' earlier.
** In this case, Unexpected ''Release'' as many fans were shocked when Creator/DiscotekMedia revealed on January 30, 2023, that they were planning on releasing this movie in the West. This was a big shock as virtually little ''Nanoha''-related media came stateside after Creator/{{Geneon}}'s collapse and Creator/{{FUNImation}}'s lackluster release of both the original and ''[=A's=]'' anime.
