''Tracey [=McBean=]'' is an animated series from Australian film company Southern Star Entertainment chronicling the everyday lifestyle of the titular GadgeteerGenius as she, with assistance from her best friend Shamus, uses her HomemadeInventions to solve whatever problem that encounters her way.

It was based on a successful children's book entitled ''Tracey [=McBean=] and the Stretching Machine'' written by Mary Small and illustrated by Arthur Filloy, which was published in 1989 and proved popular enough to be reprinted four times before getting an animated adaptation.
----
!!Tracey [=McBean=] requires the following for her latest invention:

* ABoyAGirlAndABabyFamily: Tracey, Gordon, and Megan, though the latter isn't an infant.
* AnimatedAdaptation: Also counts as an AdaptationExpansion.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Megan, who's also a BrattyHalfPint at times.
* BeachEpisode: In the final episode, Surfbusters had these.
* BerserkButton: Tracey does not like that Gordon went WalkingTechbane on her breakfast making machine.
-->'''Tracey:''' Gordon, you moron. I am going to KILL YOU!!
* CharacterNarrator: Tracey herself narrates every episode.
* DramaticWind: Invoked when Tracey is proposing a dare to ride down Mt. Massacre to Jim and Jake. Shamus turned it up to eleven by invoking a Dramatic Thunderstorm telling a bogus urban legend about a guy who suffered a DisneyDeath riding down the mountain (all they found of him was his nose).
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Many of the inventions count, but the Lost Thing Finder takes the crown.
* FreakyFridayFlip: "Swap" involves Tracey's sister Megan swapping minds with... a garbage can. [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer No, really.]]
* GadgeteerGenius
* GagNose: Shamus Wong’s nose.
* HomemadeInventions: Tracey's signature talent.
* LimitedWardrobe
* MesACrowd: "Multiplication", though the Shamus clones are bite-sized.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: Crazy Invention of the Week seems more appropriate.
* MsExposition
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Happens on several occasions.
* RunningGag: Jake saying something intellectual and Jim telling him to shut up.
* SayMyName: Done at least five times in the introduction.
* SerialEscalation: There is literally next to no scientific basis for any of the inventions shown in the series. That and some of the episodes take things to rather ludicrous proportions.
%%* {{Sidekick}}: Shamus
%%* SitcomArchNemesis: Jim and Jake [=McConnolly=].
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: During the "School Camp" episode, Tracey invents a device to communicate with aliens. She wound up communicating with glow worms instead.
%%* ThickLineAnimation
* TomboyandGirlyGirl: Tracey Mcbean is a tomboy to her little sister Megan is a girly girl.
* TomboyishVoice: Tracey’s voice is pretty much raspy.
%%* TwoShorts
* WeWantOurJerkBack: Tracy and Shamus clean Jim's shoes after he uses them to get what he wants. This causes a personality change, shifting from him being a bully to being really nice. REALLY nice. To the point to where he recites love poetry to Tracy. Having enough, Tracy, Seamus and Jake work together to get Jim's bully persona back by making his shoes smelly again. Tracy laments it's better to bring back someone you know than someone you don't.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: In an attempt to swindle Tracey out of her [=H2Grow=] formula, Jim [=McConnolly=] decides to make them tell him by telling Jake's fear, which he says is Custard. Tracey and Shamus don't believe him. [[spoiler:When Tracey tricks them into taking a version of the formula spiked with Custard, it turns out that Jake's fear really is Custard. And after the events of the episode, Jake has gotten over his fear, but now ''Jim'' has a fear of Custard (it involved a Custard Twister, and we'll leave it at that).]]
