!!Contains examples of:
* ArtisticLicenseHistory:
** Ramses is depicted as Horemheb's son-in-law, married to a fictional daughter, rather than his vizier. [[ForWantOfANail This would mean the 18th dynasty would have extended to Twosret.]]
** Creator/{{Ovid}} is mentioned by one of the characters, despite the film taking place ''over a thousand years before he was born.''
** Horemheb is depicted reigning at least 30 years. In real life, he reigned 27 to only 14.
* ArtisticLicenseReligion: Amun-Re and Ra are mentioned as seprate Gods, despite Amun-Re being a FusionDance God already including Ra. (Re being an alternate spelling.)
* BeardOfEvil: Suppiluliuma has one, as do most Hittite soldiers. His son grows one after a thirty year TimeSkip.
* ChildSoldier: Seti I accompanies his father on a mission, despite being at most a teenager. [[spoiler: And ultimately ends up killing the BigBad.]]
* AFatherToHisMen: Horemheb is this to his men. Pa-Ramses outright calls him his, which Horemheb actually chides him on, saying it was disrespectful to his biological father, Seti, who was a good friend of his.
* TheGoodKing: Horemheb is portrayed this way as Pharaoh. As is Ramses when he asscends.
* GoodShepherd: The Egyptian clergy is portrayed this way. The High Preist notably unable to be bought by Bey, despite his attemps at bribing him, and an oracle of Hathor is a good friend of Horeheb. The only possible exception are the preist over seeing the mummification where the villain meet to discuss their plan, and even then they may have been unaware since they hid in the back away from them.
* ForegoneConclusion: The film focuses on a well-known Pharaoh before his accends to the throne. Guess what happens at the end?
* EvilChancellor: Bey, who was in Suppiluliuma's pocket before he died, and serves as TheDragon to his son after he does.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Pa-Ramses forces Bey to eat the poisonous plant he used to murder numerous Egyptian officials.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: Seti (Ramses' father), Ay, Horemheb, Suppiluliuma, Ramses I, and Seti I. Parennefer called Wennefer appears but is never named.
* HistoricalRelationshipOverhaul: Horemheb here speaks of Ay glowingly. In RealLife, Horemheb had most of Ay's records expunged along several other of Akenaten's successors, implying that he probably hated him.
* NobleBirdOfPrey: Falcons are frequently shown flying around Egyptian settlements, and attending the protagonists.
* MagicRealism: For the most part, the film is a HistoricalFiction and political thriller mostly grounded in reality, except a scene in the begining, where a Hittite soldier kills a falcon, which falls to the ground dead. It then comes back, with its eyes glowing, and flies back to the Egyptian army. It's heavily implied to be Horus in animal form.
* MeaningfulRename: Ramses goes by the name Pa-Ramses for most of the film. After becoming Pharaoh, he drops the "Pa" from his name. This happened in RealLife as well.
* PosthumousCharacter: Seti (Ramses' father) and Ay, who die before the events of the movie proper.
* TheQuisling: Bey and his son, who where secretly receiving bribes from Hittie and continue to help them after they lose the war.
* StarterVillain: King Suppiluliuma appear at the begining, but is killed in battle. His son then takes over as BigBad.
* StartsWithTheirFuneral: The film starts with funeral of a Pharaoh. It's ambiguous whether it's Ay, Horemheb, or Ramses' funeral.
* TimeSkip: A thirty year one near the ending.
* VocalDissonance: ''So much'' in the English dub. Despite taking place in early Iron Age Africa and Middle East, many characters speak with European accents. The High Priest of Amun noticeably speaks in a ''very'' thick Scottish accent. Addition, Seti I sounds like an adult despite being fairly young.
