''Happy Feet Two'' is the 2011 sequel to ''WesternAnimation/HappyFeet''. It was directed by George Miller, with the screenplay by Miller, Gary Eck, Warren Coleman and Paul Livingston.

The movie centers on Mumble's son Erik, who is going through an identity crisis similar to the one his father had, and their attempt to save the colony from a giant iceberg that has blocked their way to the ocean. Erik encounters the Mighty Sven, a "penguin" who can fly! Things get worse for Mumble when the world is shaken by powerful forces, causing him to bring together the penguin nations and their allies to set things right. A subplot follows the adventures of two krill, Will and Bill, who stray from their swarm and head off to find their destiny.

!!This film provides examples of:
* ActionGirl: Boadicea, Ms. Viola's daughter. She's a cute, little Emperor Penguin chick... who can pull off LeParkour.
* AdultsAreUseless: Averted with Mumble, who continues to be the bold, intuitive, and caring penguin he was in the first movie; the few times he loses his cool, it's justified by exhaustion, hunger, and stress from [[AngerBornOfWorry having nearly lost his son]] while his mate is trapped and dying. He solves most of the movie's problems by himself with his signature innovative determination, and only nearly fails with the elephant seals because he simply has no more energy. While they're trapped for most of the movie, Gloria still continues to play a large role as a community leader and inspirational "speaker" alongside Miss Viola and Seymour.
* AirGuitar: Lovelace learned how to do this while being cared for by the crew of a research ship. He eventually uses it to signal to them for help in freeing the Emperor penguins.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer:
** Pleasantly averted; while Erik clearly has crippling social anxiety that prevents him from relaxing enough to discover his heartsong, his relationship with his loving and supportive parents is healthy despite Mumble's difficulty with communicating. He also has close friends in the form of Atticus and Boadicea, who never leave his side and are always ready to distract, comfort, or defend him as necessary.
** What's more, unlike Mumble, Erik doesn't seem to experience any societal backlash for his quiet ways; the other penguin chicks willingly part around him to let him stand quietly in the background to enjoy watching them perform, rather than thinking he's weird or broken.
* ArtEvolution: Coming out five years after the first movie, the sequel has better texturing with the snow particles and penguin feathers. All the characters also possess slightly more anthropomorphic faces and are a lot more expressive.
* AscendedExtra: Seymour, who was more of a background character in the first film.
* AscendedToCarnivorism: Will the krill wants to move up the food chain and eat instead of being eaten for a change.
* BadassAdorable:
** In the sequel, Bo goes all the way to Adélie Land ''by herself'' to get help for the trapped Emperor Penguins.
** Erik standing his ground against ''humongous'' Elephant Seals.
* BearsAreBadNews: Polar bears appear briefly in Sven's backstory, where they try to catch him.
* BigDamnHeroes: Done several times. Sven leads all the penguins who follow him to where the Emperor Penguins are trapped, spooking the skuas. Later, the "aliens" come to help build a path to help the penguins get out. And finally, Mumble and Eric manage to convince Bryan to bring the elephant seals over to the iceberg to break it down. All while singing "Under Pressure", by the way.
* BigEater: Seymour and his son, Atticus.
* CarnivoreConfusion: To add to the muddle from the first film, this film features two krill who are tired of being eaten and want to turn the tables on the predators. Of course, they're not too bright or sure how to do this so it doesn't work.
* CharacterDevelopment: Noah remarks about the solidarity of all the penguin nations coming together. Keep in mind he and the other elders were quite vocal about not excepting Mumble in the previous film.
* ChildrenRaiseYou: Many of Bryan's more noble moments come at the prompting of his two adorable children.
** "We won't think less of you, daddy!"
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Ramon tries to hit on Carmen.
--> '''Carmen:''' You and me? Fat chance.
--> '''Ramon:''' ''(gasp)'' I've got a chance! And it's ''fat!''
** Then when Carmen finally returns Ramon's feelings.
--> '''Carmen:''' How did I not see? You are beautiful!
--> '''Ramon:''' ''(saddened)'' Only on the outside.
* ContinuityNod: Mumble mentions how he was an outcast and everyone thought he was weird, which was a major point in the first film.
* CrowdSong:
** The climax with "Under Pressure".
** "Bridge of Light" starts with Gloria singing to Erik, but eventually all of the other penguins in the colony join in.
* DemotedToExtra:
** While Ramon is still part of the main cast, the rest of the Amigos mostly remain with their clan, and only briefly interact with him when he returns to Adelie Land.
** After major roles in the first film, Mumble's parents, Norma Jean and Memphis, only appear briefly in a single scene, reporting to Noah that the iceberg has completely sealed off the exits of the valley.
** After being the driving force of the plot in the first film, this time around the Aliens only show up in Sven’s backstory and show up to try and save to penguins [[spoiler: to no avail.]]
* DiggingYourselfDeeper: Multiple instances for Mumble. One of which is when he's trying to comfort Erik, Gloria lampshading this.
-->'''Gloria''': You know, Erik, when your daddy's in a deep hole, he's got to stop digging.
* EroticEating: Sven passes Gloria some fish via beak-to-beak, accompanied by sultry saxophones and a few rapt, breathless moans from Gloria. The latter's got nothing to do with her being attracted to him -- she's just gone an entire day without food.
* EskimosArentReal: Will the Krill believes "black holes" (whales) are myths to keep people in the swarm.
* FaceYourFears: Ramon is shown to be very afraid of heights in both the first movie and this one to the point where he won’t jump down a pool of water just a little bit below him. When [[spoiler: a chunk of the Doomberg falls down leaving Carmen stuck with the rest of the Emperor penguins, he faces his fear of heights by jumping down just so he could be with Carmen. Carmen is so impressed by this, she sees him for who he is.]]
* ForgottenFramingDevice: While Lovelace serves as the narrator just like the first movie, he only narrates for a few seconds in the opening of this movie and never shows up again.
* FreezeFrameBonus: After the Krill escape the whales attack, if you pause when the whales are attacking the rest of the Krill swarm (as seen by Bill and Will), the shape of the swarm with the holes caused by the whales is that of a skull or a ghost face, call it what you will.
* FunnyForeigner: Sven. He can be pretty silly and pronounces English words in an abnormal way.
* GeniusBruiser: Bryan prefers to simply shove any obstacles out of his way, but he later protests Mumble's ice-breaking plan by talking of "The impact force of compact ice, under pressure..."
* GoshDangItToHeck: Bryan tells Mumble and Erik to "fluff off" when he claims he is too busy fighting another elephant seal to worry about the penguins.
* GreenAesop: The movie doesn't even mention global warming, but it's very obviously to blame for the big problem caused by the broken-off iceberg. There are a lot of dripping icicles and pools of water around, as well.
* InformedSpecies: Sven the puffin. Apparently, he's supposed to be a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tufted_puffin tufted puffin]], but he looks more like an [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_puffin Atlantic puffin]] with the tufts of the pacific species.
* {{Irony}}: Mumble's a dreadful singer, but a terrific dancer. In the sequel, dancing's become almost as normal as singing between the penguins', however Mumble's son Erik can't seem to get the hang of it. Towards the end [[spoiler: he's then revealed to have a magnificent voice, or more specifically, an ''opera'' voice.]]
* LastOfHisKind: Sven. He even mentions winning a dance contest in his homeland with some other puffins, making it a bit of FridgeHorror.
* LeParkour: [[BadassAdorable Boadicea]].
* LighterAndSofter: Compared to the more grounded tone of the first movie.
* MeaningfulName: Erik's talent turns out to be [[spoiler:opera...just like another famous [[Literature/ThePhantomOfTheOpera Erik]]]].
* MisplacedWildlife: Crowd shots feature a few penguin species that actually live in warmer areas of the globe and not Antarctica: Magellanic penguins (which live along the very tip of the coasts of South America) and Fairy Blue penguins (which reside in the coasts around southern Australia and New Zealand).
* MonsterWhale: A blue whale may seem like a GentleGiant to humans, but to the tiny krill, they are "black holes" that devour thousands of krill. Bill and Will only narrowly avoid getting eaten by its wide open mouth.
* MonstrousSeal: Ramon is briefly chased by two leopard seals early in the movie, but escapes them by leaping out of the water. Mumble later tries to wake up a sleeping leopard seal so he could lead it to burst open the ice cave the Beach-master is stuck in. Will the Krill biting on the Leopard Seal’s head manages to wake him up.
* NotAllowedToGrowOld: Mumble still has his adolescent plumage even though he is an adult who already has a child. This was probably done so he could still be instantly recognizable.
* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: The ice ramp and Bryan falling into the ice crevice.
* OhMyGods: Noah says "Mother of Guin".
* PapaWolf: Mumble. He will stop at nothing to defend his son, or Atticus and Bo.
* PerfectlyCromulentWord: "One in a Krillion".
* ResetButton: Refreshingly, this is averted. The penguins have ''not'' inexplicably forgotten Mumble saving their entire species. He's clearly a respected member of the community, and there's a noticeable increase in the dance moves used throughout the tribe. While his singing hasn't gotten any better, it's obvious that the tribe is more affectionately exasperated by it now than anything else. What's more, Mumble's contributions appear to have changed with how emperor penguins react to 'disabled' chicks; Erik hasn't found a heartsong at all, but is met for the most part with quiet (if sad) acceptance and encouraged to participate in whatever way he feels comfortable, rather than treated as a pariah.
* {{Retcon}}: At the end of the first film, Mumble's feathers have almost completely developed, up to covering his chest and leaving only his head and part of his back still covered down. Here however, his down is back to covering half of his body.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter:
** The baby seal twins.
** Erik, Atticus, and Bo.
* SnotBubble: Sven is prone to emitting them, though he has an excuse; his beak was broken and surgically stapled, leaving a thin crack.
* StalkingIsLove: Rather uncomfortably played straight with Ramon and Carmen. They've never even had a ''conversation''. One of Carmen’s friends lampshades this by saying she’s getting "stalker vibes" witnessing Ramon’s declaration of his love.
* TakingTheFightOutside: Subverted while also being played for laughs. When Wayne the challenger wants to continue his fight with Bryan, he demands taking the fight outside. Bryan then tells him that they are already outside. One can even notice Wayne realizing his poor choice of words.
* ThisCannotBe: Noah says this when he sees the Berg of Doom reaching Emperor Land and trapping all the penguins.
* TheReveal: Erik's (Mumble's son) talent is [[spoiler:opera.]]
* [[ThoseTwoGuys Those Two Krill]]: Will and Bill.
