'''Give And Tyke''' is a 1957 ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' theatrical short. It is noted for being the first of two to not feature Tom and Jerry and instead stars Spike the Bulldog and his son Tyke (the other being "Scat Cats" from the same year).

When a stray dog sees a newspaper article that unlicensed dogs are to be rounded up, he immediately seeks out a collar to escape being taken by the dogcatcher. Unfortunately, he sets his sights on Tyke's, which unfortunately leaves the pup vulnerable the dogcatcher. To save his son, Spike goes after the stray, and along the way, Spike and Tyke's collars are continuously swapped around to prevent two out of three dogs from going to the pound.

!!Tropes appearing in this cartoon:

* BackdoorPilot: Was meant to be the first of a series focused on Spike and Tyke. Only one more cartoon focused on the duo, "Scat, Cats", was made.
* ADayInTheLimelight: A whole cartoon dedicated to Spike and Tyke.
* DiabolicalDogCatcher: Downplayed. The dog catcher is the primary antagonist of this cartoon, corralling the dogs that don't have a collar, but he is compassionate enough to allow another dog to take the place of a captured one.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: The stray dog is based on Ed Norton from ''Series/TheHoneymooners''. Creator/DawsButler would later use the same voice for WesternAnimation/YogiBear.
