One of the many Platform/YouTube review series to gain its own identity and fanbase, the Wiiviewer sets himself apart by not only reviewing only games on the Platform/Wii and Platform/Wii U (which still includes the Platform/VirtualConsole and Platform/WiiWare), but also reviewing a lot of the party games on the system "as most reviewers won't do a fair review of those titles". He only occasionally does the major games.

He occasionally brings his two sons in some of the reviews, nicknamed "The Little Wiiviewer" and "The Littlest Wiiviewer".

He also has a much lighter style than the more well-known CausticCritic video reviewers (which he averts).

!!Provides Examples Of:
* AccentuateTheNegative: He has admitted in his VideoGame/TheLostVikings review that he likes to mock and nitpick games, but edits out the bits that are too harsh.
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: He can be this.
* AppealToObscurity: When Wiiviewr notes that VideoGame/AlexKidd is a playable character in VideoGame/SonicAndSegaAllStarsRacing.
--> Wiiviewr: When you see Alex Kidd there, you know they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
--> Little Wiiviewr: Who's Alex Kidd?
--> Wiiviewr: Exactly.
* ArtifactTitle: The Wiiviewr also reviews games for the Platform/Wii U, the Platform/PlayStation4, the Switch, and the PC, but he says it is for variety's sake.
* AuthorAppeal: Admits he reviews so many games based on Game Shows because he's a fan of the actual shows (even though the games based on them are hit or miss). He also likes RPG games and states that he's played every Lunar Game on every console.
* BigNo
** The Wiiviewr does this after seeing that the Platform/Wiiware version of Creator/Netflix doesn't have Series/CharlesInCharge.
** He does this when he is forced to do a review of VideoGame/SuperMonkeyBall: Banana Blitz after it keeps popping up all over his house.
* BrickJoke: In the "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" review, he makes a joke about Santa pooping out his presents. He finishes by mentioning that "Thomas's Wii will take a little longer". At the very end, when his logo is playing, he makes a pooping sound and tells Thomas he has his Wii.
* BulletHell: The Wiiviewer comments about this in the Night Strike mini-game from Furu Furu Park.
* ClusterBleepBomb: Played for laughs when he describes how hard the boss battles are on Arc Rise Fantasia:
--> Wiiviewer: Because while the regular enemies are a breeze to kill, the bosses will bend you over and (bleep) with mayonnaise and just shove them in up (bleep) their fingers out- (long line of bleeps) -and trust me when I say, you'll never get a pencil the same again."
* ContrivedCoincidence: This was well noted in his favorite parts review, but the fourth favorite moment was from Lit (the Rotating Light Scene). Many comments noted that Lit was his fourth favorite game that he reviewed in 2009 (and still holds the record as the only Wiiware game on his list)
* CurseCutShort: At the end of the Series/AmericanNinjaWarrior Challenge review after saying that the game works.
--> Wiiviewr: But it succeeds in being a game, that you can play on the Swit- (Game crashes) Oh, What the Fu- (Outro plays)
* DistractedByTheSexy: In his review of VideoGame/DragonsLair Trilogy, the Wiiviewer gets so caught up in seeing Princess Daphne on the screen that he forgets what he's talking about.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: In the Netflix review, the Wiiviewr admits to having a secret that he hasn't told his friends or family, checks to see if the boys are asleep, then grabs a box of tissues from the bathroom.
* DontLookAtMe: When he reviewed the Netflix service, he said this when his sons caught him watching his GuiltyPleasure show .
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Profanity was left intact in the earliest videos on the channel. However, by 2009, they were all bleeped, except for "Crap" and "Piss".
* EarnYourFun: He usually complains whenever a casual game forces you to do this, like in Neighborhood Games where they lock fifteen of the twenty games at the start.
* EasyLevelsHardBosses: Made an analogy of the boss difficulty in VideoGame/ArcRiseFantasia with a comment about how the bosses will molest you, done with loads of bleeps.
* EvilTwin: Considered for a story arc, but eventually dropped.
* FandomHeresy: InUniverse, with what he calls "Piss Off the Fanboys".
* FormulaBreakingEpisode: From his 200th review to his 205th, he reviewed his favorite games on the [=PlayChoice10=]
* FourPointScale: Averted. He instead just rates games as "Buy", "Rent", or "Skip". Virtual Console games ignore "Rent", since they are download only.
* FridgeLogic: invokedLoves to poke fun at off stuff in the games during the reviews.
* FunWithFlushing: The Wiiviewer tries in vain to flush VideoGame/SuperMonkeyBall: Banana Blitz down the toilet.
* GuiltyPleasure: In-universe, he admits that FanFic is his guilty pleasure. He then uses it as a lead-in to discuss the concept of "fluff", which is what he equates the game (a Christmas game) in question to: A cute bit of nothing that makes you feel good inside.
** And there's also .
* InsultToRocks: He says in his VideoGame/SPRay vs. Truth or Lies battle video that comparing the former game's graphics to those of the Platform/Nintendo64 would be an insult to the [=N64=].
** He also says in his Obscure: The Aftermath review that calling the story ridiculous would be an insult to the word.
* TheInternetIsForPorn: A variation in that when he asks his viewers to submit categories for comparing games in his "Versus" videos, suggestions like "Nudity" and "Sex Appeal" keep coming up.
* JustOneMoreLevel: Stated that playing VideoGame/HarvestMoon on the Platform/VirtualConsole was this.
* LargeHam: He can be this on a good day.
* LarynxDissonance: When he pretends to be Princess Peach, he just makes his voice higher.
* LittleMissSnarker: The Lil Wiiviewer and the Littlest Wiiviewer both have their moments. Especially evident in the "Pirate's Plundaaarr" review, where most of their dialogue consists of them telling him that, really, no one is going to want to watch him do a review entirely in pirate speak.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: His kids call him Dad, and he's mostly known as Wiiviewr; however, [=KWing=] says his real name (Eric) during their dual Lost Vikings review.
* PapaWolf: Attacking his children in the comments results in an instant ban.
* PretentiousPronunciation: Admits to doing this as a joke in his review of VideoGame/Okami. Amaterasu to Amarusu, Issun to Izzn, etc.
* PunnyName Wii reviewer
* QuoteMine: The Wiiviewer suspects that the "...8 out of 10" quote from Play magazine that appears on the front cover of Furu Furu Park is this, given the overall quality of the game.
* TheRival: Princess Peach. She tends to get really pissed when he doesn't put her as his favorite for something. (the most famous one was the 13 favorite scenes where she lost to a monkey)
--> Peach: Rival? Rival to what!? There's nothing to compete here. That's it. This trope made my list!
* RuleOfSeven: His short-lived 'Seven Problems with...' was part of this.
* RunningGag:
** Almost every video ends with the game character dying. He even manages to die in an accessory review.
** Purposely mispronouncing Japanese titles.
** Calling Yoshi a girl.
** His battle videos tend to have one thing in common, one of the categories tends to be Sex Appeal.
* SelfDeprecation: He as admitted to being bad at things such as bowling and spelling.
** The content warning for his "Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz" is that it has some bad acting in it.
* SoundEffectBleep: This is used sometimes for swearing, and sometimes to cover up when his kids say spoilers about certain games.
* SpecialGuest: A cameo from his niece appeared in the Barbie Groom, and Glam Pups Review game.
* SpitTake: In his After Dark review of VideoGame/Bayonetta 2, the Wiiviewer spits out the ten-year-old bottled Coke that he drank from the wine glass, saying he could almost taste mold.
* TakeThat: From his VideoGame/SonicAndSegaAllStarsRacing review, this happens.
--> Wiiviewr: Lil'Wiiviewr, when was the last successful Franchise/Mario game?
--> Lil'Wiiviewr: Let me see....there's probably one coming out, and then there's Franchise/SuperMarioBros Wii... (VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy2 and VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii appear)
--> Wiiviewr: Okay, when was the last successful Sonic game?
--> Lil'Wiiviewr: Uh....(the screen is black and shows '....')
--> Wiiviewr: Exactly.
** Then he forgives the Franchise/TheHedgehog fans, and he did give the game a 'buy'.
* TopTenList: At the end of each year, he does a list of the top ten best, and a list of the top ten worst, games he reviewed that year. And then did a list of his favorite moments from his reviews. It's cranked up to 13 though.
* Touche: He thought it was silly to compare Franchise/SuperMarioBros and Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda, as they are different genres. Then his sons pointed out he compared a racing game with a platformer, and he says this.
* TrainingMontage: Complete with some montage appropriate 80s song.
* XtremeKoolLetterz: Mocks games that use a Z instead of an S for plural by putting an overload of emphasis on the Z (such as Pet-zzzz Crazy Monkey-zzzz). He finally discusses this in his review of Action Girl-zzzz Racing.
