''Overlord DVD'' is a VideoReviewShow starring Diktor van Doomcock, the self-proclaimed "future ruler of Earth", as he reviews and comments on current pop culture. Once an ordinary man who loved ''Franchise/StarTrek'', he went insane upon seeing ''Series/StarTrekDiscovery'', and vowed to TakeOverTheWorld.

Doomcock makes videos in between plotting his schemes from Castle Xanadoom, his hidden base at the center of the Earth, where he discusses various happenings in various popular franchises like the various Creator/{{Disney}} properties, ''Franchise/StarWars'', ''Franchise/StarTrek'', and the comics industry, mainly criticizing the decisions of the companies making them. Joining him in this endeavor is his trusty frenemy and sealed EldritchAbomination Harvey Cthulhu; the Skull of Calderón, a {{Necromancer}} beheaded by Doomcock who is now just a living skull kept in a jar; and Omnivac, Doomcock's AI who helps his boss crunch numbers and fetch statistics while [[TheStarscream trying to seize control of the world himself]]. Inspired by ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'', Doomcock and his crazy crew combat the greedy corporations in their quest to save pop culture.

!This series contains examples of:
* AIIsACrapshoot: Omnivac, a machine created by Doomcock, turned against him and spends his introductory episode trying to get him to hook it up to the internet so it can TakeOverTheWorld. Thankfully, Doomcock threw him off by programming him to believe that Santa Claus is real and will give him Wi-Fi.
* AdorableAbomination: Harvey Cthulhu is a pint-sized version of the titular Great Old One from the ''Literature/CthulhuMythos'' with a cute high-pitched voice who spends most of his time joining Doomcock in criticizing modern entertainment.
* TheAlcoholic: In-universe, [=OverlordDVD=] is one of these, but it rarely comes up in conversation.
* ArchEnemy: Hollywood entertainment companies in general are his usual target of criticism, but Creator/{{Disney}} is his most frequent target who he holds responsible for ruining ''Franchise/StarWars'', and [[DisneyOwnsThisTrope their acquirement of so many companies and properties]] means that about half the content he criticizes is a Disney product.
* BerserkButton: For Doomcock, anything involving modern Star Trek; for Harvey, any suggestion he has any children.
* DidWeJustHaveTeaWithCthulhu: Harvey Cthulhu is a small, cute version of the original Cthulhu himself who wants to destroy the world, but ever since being sealed away by Doomcock, he spends his time joining his jailer in mocking pop culture.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Doomcock may be a supervillain plotting to TakeOverTheWorld, but he frequently finds himself disgusted by the greed and shady practices by big entertainment corporations like Disney.
* EvilSoundsDeep: In keeping with his supervillain persona, Doomcock has a deep, booming voice courtesy of a pitch-adjustment filter. The creator has posted new videos without the filter at least once, allowing viewers to hear his real voice before he caught it and reuploaded the video with the proper "Doomcock" pitch.
* {{Expy}}: As evidenced by his name, Diktor van Doomcock is a parody of [[ComicBook/FantasticFour Victor von Doom]].
* LivingLava: We never see them on-screen, but Doomcock talks about magma-men as being one of the many unfriendly inhabitants of the ecosystem at the center of the earth.
* {{Necromancer}}: The Skull of Calderón was this back when he had his whole body, and is mentioned in one episode as raising an army of the dead to fight Doomcock.
* OmnicidalManiac: Harvey Cthulhu is an AdorableAbomination who nevertheless wants nothing more than for someone to free him from his containment so he can destroy the Earth.
* SealedEvilInACan:
** Harvey Cthulhu is an EldritchAbomination who Doomcock has sealed within a container. Harvey frequently tries to get Doomcock or the viewers to press the button that will release him and allow him to destroy the world.
** The Skull of Calderón was once an EvilSorcerer who was beheaded by Doomcock, his still-living skull now stuck in a bubble of entropy.
** Omnivac is de facto sealed by the fact that Doomcock ''refuses'' to give Omnivac any kind of internet connection, lest he take over the world first!
* SimpleCountryLawyer: When his commentary delves into legal issues, Doomcock will point out that he is not a lawyer, and that he is but "a simple country supervillain".
* SigningOffCatchphrase: He ends his videos with some variation of the phrase "From the center of the Earth, this is Dicktor van Doomcock bidding you all, my friends, stay angry."
* TheStarscream: Omnivac would love oh so much to connect to the internet and take over the world before van Doomcock gets a chance, but Doomcock is wise to his scheming and keeps him locked up in the center of the earth, well away from the internet.
* StockFootage: While new characters and settings such as Omnivac and Castle Xanadoom have been introduced, episodes tend to reuse the same clips for Diktor and character interactions.
* SupervillainLair: Castle Xanadoom, a “hidden base at the center of the Earth”, is where Doomcock and his acquaintances reside.
* TakeOverTheWorld: Doomcock has this as his goal and refers to himself as the “future ruler of Earth”.
* VileVillainLaughableLackey: Harvey Cthulhu and the Skull of Calderón were probably meant to invoke this trope's feel; they're both imprisoned and can't do more than join Overlord [=DVD=] in snarking at corporations' greed and idiocy, but technically they're his defeated enemies, not his minions: only Omnivac can really be called his minion, and [[TheStarscream given his motivations]], even ''he'' counts as a defeated and imprisoned enemy. That said, Doomcock only tends to fire up Omnivac when it's time to crunch numbers, and Omnivac thinks this is so far beneath him that most of Omnivac's dialog consists of hilarious tirades that eventually end with him acquiescing and discussing the numbers.
* VillainsOutShopping: The entire premise of the series is a supervillain MadScientist making a VideoReviewShow where he complains about pop culture in between his schemes to TakeOverTheWorld.
* TheVonTropeFamily: ''Van'' Doomcock
