Dick Figures is a [[StickFigureAnimation stick figure animated]] webseries created by Ed Skudder and written, directed and produced by him and Zack Keller (previously employed by Creator/{{Pixar}}, Creator/JimHenson Company, Creator/{{Microsoft}}, and UsefulNotes/McDonalds advertising) about two best friends -- [[VitriolicBestBuds in name only]] -- named Red & Blue. Produced by Creator/MondoMedia (''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends'') and animated by Six Point Harness (first season of ''WesternAnimation/WowWowWubbzy''), the series debuted on Website/YouTube on November 18, 2010 and ran for five seasons before concluding on July 10, 2014. The episodes of the series have been viewed over 250 million times.

One could describe the series as "more awesome than a supernova wrapped in bacon". From the mundane to the magical, the world of the series combines off-the-wall action, absurdist comedy, pop culture references, mythical creatures, an eclectic soundtrack, lots of explosions, and a cast of colorful characters living out their lives in complete acceptance of the insanity surrounding them.

Through a [[http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dickfigures/dick-figures-the-movie a Kickstarter campaign]], a film adaptation of the series was successfully funded in 2012. Thanks to the campaign surpassing its goal by over $50,000, the film, originally planned to be a 40-minute special, was extended to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=JWxQc5fWXCg#t=49s 72 minutes]] and released publicly as ''WebAnimation/DickFiguresTheMovie'' on September 17, 2013; the film revolves around Red and Blue being sent on a quest by the Raccoon to find [[CoolSword The Great Sword of Destiny]]. Examples specific to the film should go on its own page.

Following the conclusion of the series' fifth season, speculation that more episodes were in the works was put to rest when Keller announced on his Tumblr that that season would be the show's last. However, two SpinOff miniseries were released in 2015 -- ''Chick Figures'', which stars Red and Blue's daughters Scarlet and Lavender; and ''Messin' with Sasquatch'', which was made in sponsorship of Jack Links' Beef Jerky.

----
!! This web series provides examples of:
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Amiugly to Red. [[spoiler:Surprisingly she is Stacy's sister and worked out in "Figured Out" before marrying Red.]]
* AerithAndBob: Chad, Jason (Trollzor), and Stacy are the only characters with normal names.
* AsianSpeekeeEngrish: The Raccoon talks this way.
* {{Bookends}}: In chronological order, the show started and ended with Red and Blue meeting each other in an alley.
* CampStraight: Lord Tourettes. He's extremely frilly and loves flowers and soft fuzzy things, but also tends to act even randier than Red towards women.
* TheCasanova: Red- in the most hilariously offensive way possible. His "charms" don't always work though, specifically when he's too drunk to form coherent advances.
* ComedicSociopath: Definitely Red.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Can and WILL be exaggerated if it shows up. The simplest things such as searching for someones hat, going to the store to buy the latest hot game and even going to fix Wifi problems will result in bodies being stacked.
* {{Flanderization}}: Red, if you can believe it. In the first season, he comes across as a Jerkass who likes getting drunk, hitting on women and has an attention span somewhere between uneducated and CloudCuckoolander. Fast forward to season 3 and Red has become a near-AxCrazy psycho, snorting drugs on a regular basis, bangs more chicks than someone with his personality should even be able to wink at, has ADHD and an alcohol intake that should see him dead on more than one occasion, and somehow has supernatural kung-fu abilities and chi powers (though this could be explained by the movie implying that he's an alien, yet another flanderizing step).
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Stacy.
* InterruptedByTheEnd: This is actually a RunningGag! In many episodes characters that say the last sentence after a crazy amount of mishaps, they often get their speech interrupted at the end. However one of them is [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] in "Pussy Magnet" after this gem.
--> '''Red:''' How'd it go?
-->'''Blue:''' Next time, I'm asking [[SirSwearsalot Lord Tourettes]].
-->'''Lord Tourettes:''' (''Appearing from the side of the screen, giggling'') You know, all you really need is a biiig [[CurseCutShort DI-]]
-->(''Credits roll'')
-->'''Blue:''' [[TheStinger Figures.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Red, as much of a jackass as he is, he does seem to care about Blue as a friend.
* RapidFireComedy: One of the defining tropes.
* RedOniBlueOni: [[MeaningfulName Red and Blue]], of course. Red is a crazy, chaos-creating, fun guy who's kind of a jerk. Blue is an uptight, irritable, usually serious guy who is frequently frustrated due to Red's shenanigans.
** Likewise, Stacy is the red to Pink's blue.
* RuleOfCool: Most of what happens in the series happens because it's awesome.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Well, Cultured-Man and Frat-Boy, anyway (Blue and Red, respectively).
* StraightMan: Blue.

----
!! Episodes of this series provide examples of:
* AristocratsAreEvil: Earl Grey.
* AllJustADream: In "OMG", Blue goes through several of these, complete with [[ShoutOut that one sound effect]] from Film/{{Inception}}.
* AngstNuke: [[spoiler: Blue/Bloser invokes a purely self-destructive variant on Bangers after Mash is killed.]]
* AtrociousAlias: The Bloser. It's supposed to be a portmanteau of "Blue" and "bruiser", but it's pronounced like "loser".
* AutoTune: Red sings this way when he swallows a bee in the first episode, "A Bee or Something". Pops up again in "Bath Rhymes", and again in "Losing Streakers." Hell, the bee itself talks like this.
* BadDate: Blue has one in "Trouble Date," because Red shows up with ''his'' [[HardDrinkingPartyGirl date]] and ruins Blue's.
* BavarianFireDrill: We're Cops!
* BigEater: Red decides to go back in time solely because he wants eat ''an entire dinosaur''.
* BrainlessBeauty: Actually ''subverted'' with [[ValleyGirl Stacy]]. In "Modern Flame War 3", it's revealed she works as an internet technician.
** Even more than that, [[spoiler: "Robot Frog" reveals that she used to be completely straight-laced, going to med school while simultaneously holding down three jobs, in fact. Her desire to do something crazy for once spontaneously turned her into the party girl we all know her as.]]
* BrickJoke: In "Losing Streakers", Red forces Blue to go to Sal Sagev to win their rent money. After collecting their ridiculous amount of winnings, Red screams [[spoiler: "VIVA LAS VEGAS!" and drives to the actual Las Vegas]].
* BrokenAesop:
--> '''Red:''' Ahh! You see, kids? Miracles ''do'' happen, if you believe in yourself! Merry Christmas, everyone!
--> '''Blue:''' What?! It's the middle of Sum-! ''[[RunningGag (cuttooutro)]]''
** Almost the entire point of "Pussy Magnet".
* BrownNote: Kitty Amazing is so adorable he melts the hearts of all who look at him... ''literally''. It's not clear why Red is immune, though.
* BulletTime: Used in "Modern Flame War 3"
* CanCrushingCranium: Red takes a page from [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} Bender's]] book and does this with an entire beer keg, just before [[TheyKilledKennyAgain smashing Broseph's head with it]].
* ChainsawGood: In "Zombies and Shotguns", Red uses a chainsaw against the zombies and a bag of potato chips. And Broseph, who wasn't a zombie.
* CheckPlease: Blue does this in "Trouble Date" after Red ruins his date.
* ContinuityNod:
** Kitty Amazing's petrified body is found behind the fridge in "Sex Marks the Spot".
** Pink remarks in "Role Playas" that ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'' night was worse then their first date, that being "Trouble Date".
** In "Pleasure Cruise", the villain who tries to sink the [[MeaningfulName H.M.S. Tragedy]] is [[spoiler: Earl Grey's last surviving butler]].
*** Turns out [[spoiler: Earl Grey never died]]. He comes back in "The Fart Knight Rises" to attack the Olympics.
** In "Losing Streakers", Red accidentally swallows ''another'' bee and starts taking in AutoTune again.
* CosmeticAward: Parodied in "Modern Flame War 3".
* CutenessProximity: Kitty Amazing does this to a point where people's hearts literally melt.
** In "Real Dudes Bros Night Man", Red completely ignores Raccoon's story because of how cute he is.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After Trollzor was humiliated in "Y U So Meme?", he teams up with Red and Blue to save the internet in "Modern Flame War 3".
* DisabilityImmunity: Blue is temporarily blind in "Kitty Amazing" because he had eye surgery, and is immune to the cat's deadly effects because he can't see it.
* DownerEnding: Pink's disastrous date with Blue in "Ocho Muerte" was so traumatic that the episode ends with her sobbing in the dumpster.
* DreamWithinADream: Happens in "OMG", where Blue constantly wakes up to find that he's in a dream; with each one [[MindScrew crazier]] than the last. In the end, it turns out that [[spoiler:the Raccoon]] was having these dreams all along.
-->[[spoiler:'''Raccoon''':]] Ugh, ooh... I needed to-a quit drinking...
* DullSurprise: Blue, in a [[DeadpanSnarker sarcastic way]].
-->"Oh my goood, you lost everythiiing, woooow..."
-->"Oh man I know, ''Fang Angels'' is soooo goood..."
* DumbassHasAPoint: Red in "We're Cops!"
-->'''Red''': Pffpfft! Who's gonna pull over a cop car? Nobody!
-->'''Blue''': Wow. That actually makes a lot of sense. That's a little scary.
** It actually works. Everyone believes they're cops, even ''actual cops''.
* DumbMuscle: [[spoiler: Earl Gray's sons]], [[ThemeNaming Bangers and Mash]].
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Red's voice was significantly deeper in the earlier episodes.
* EmotionBomb: Blue/Bloser's "Emo Ray", which [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin produces overwhelming angst in whatever it hits]], so long as whatever it hits is actually capable of feelings. Apparently, it can also cause someone who's already feeling angst to ''explode''.
* EnhanceButton: Red gets Blue to enhance a large black pixel into a perfect image of Trollzor's location in "Y U So Meme?"
* EroticEating: Red and Stacy attempt this in "Trouble Date" and end up ruining Blue and Pink's meal.
* EveryoneWentToSchoolTogether: "First Day of Cool" reveals this to be the case.
* FamousForBeingFirst: One episode has a bunch of kids getting off the school bus. The first kid says "First!", and another kid responds with "Who the fuck cares?"
* {{Fartillery}}: One of Red's many weapons of choice. Used in, among others, the "Sweary Christmas" promo, "Losing Streakers", and "The Fart Knight Rises".
* FeigningIntelligence: Blue in "Trouble Date", though it's more like Feigning Worldliness. He tries to invoke EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench and seemingly fails miserably- but Pink falls for it anyway. Happens again in "Kung Fu Winners" with some [[GratuitousForeignLanguage Gratuitous Chinese]].
* FreakyFridayFlip: In [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin "Brain Switch"]], Red and Blue end up switching bodies via being [[LightningCanDoAnything struck by lightning]]. They try to ruin each other's bodies by doing what they'd normally do to extremes. When they finally switch back, Blue is in horrible condition.
* FunbagAirbag: Blue lands his face in Pink's chest in "Flame War", probably on purpose.
* FreezeFrameBonus:
** Throughout "Modern Flame War 3" [[CosmeticAward achievement notifications]] pop up in the lower right corner at significant points in the episode.
** At the end of "Sweary Christmas" promo, pausing the video right after Red's craps in the fireplace shows the force of the explosion ripped off Lord Tourettes' face.
** In "Fang Angels", there are frames of Pink with nude breasts at around 1:06.
* GainaxEnding: "Taco Tuesday" ends with Red eating pizza covered in his blood and saying.
--> '''Red:''' Pizza Pizza mo mizza banana fana fo- '''Cannibalism'''.
* {{Gasshole}}:
** Red, at the end of "A Bee or Something", in "Attack of the Pwns" [[RunningGag and again]] in the beginning of "Losing Streakers".
** And near the beginning of "Taco Tuesday".
* GenieInABottle: The genie of the teapot in "Butt Genie". What kind of genie he was tended to vary from wish to wish.
** BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: The guy who, for... some reason, wishes his head was an anvil, presumably.
** BenevolentGenie: When the raccoon wishes for cool sunglasses and the random guy wishes to be fat, both get exactly what they want.
** JackassGenie: When a random guy wishes for a car, the genie drops it on his head.
** LiteralGenie: When [[{{Jerkass}} Broseph]] wishes he was "ripped", the genie [[TheyKilledKennyAgain rips him in half]].
* GratuitousSpanish: Red's second language in "The Red Devil". Granted, he's faking it, but at least the natives understand it.
* HatOfPower: If Lord Tourettes' loses his cone hat, it makes him incapable of cursing. In "Lord Tourettes", it turns a MallSanta into a rather BadSanta.
* HighPressureBlood: Red slices his finger ([[HandWave or hand, since fingers don't seem to exist]]) [[ItMakesSenseInContext with a pizza cutter]] in "Taco Tuesday". He immediately starts spraying huge amounts of blood everywhere, and continues to do so throughout what is basically the ''entire rest of the episode.'' Whilst ''driving,'' no less. [[DrivesLikeCrazy Not well, but...]]
* HollywoodTourettes: The [[MeaningfulName aptly-named]] Lord Tourettes suffers from this.
* HurricaneOfPuns: The battle banter between Red/Batman and [[spoiler: Earl Gray]] in "The Fart Knight Rises". Blue/Bloser briefly joins in, much to his own confusion.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: In "Modern Flame War 3", Red shoots the trigger of a shot gun he threw at a {{Mook|s}} for a head shot.
* ImprobableWeaponUser:
** Earl Gray fights with cups of tea and a diamond-encrusted monocle.
** In "Zombies and Shotguns", Red (unintentionally) kills a zombie with a ''bag of chips''.
* InformedAttractiveness: According to "Modern Flame War 3" [[spoiler:Stacy apparently has "the perfect boobs", but they look no different than any other girl's boobs in the series]].
* InsistentTerminology: A point of contention near the end of "Butt Genie", where Red and the Genie have a disagreement about what word describes the number of wishes they had accumulated. The Genie says that they had a "fuckton", while Red believes they only had a "shitload".
* JerkassGods: A light example in "[[{{Pun}} Zeusbag]]"
* KamehameHadoken: Red wins the fight against the restaurant's master in "Kung Fu Winner" using this.
* KillItWithFire: Blue takes out a swarm of zombies by shooting a flammable bottle of perfume, engulfing the zombies in a ball of flame. [[spoiler: Except that the sprinkler system then goes off, dousing the zombies and leaving them perfectly fine.]]
* TheLadette: Stacy drinks and has sex just as much as Red does.
* LeetLingo: Trollzor.
-->Everyone's leveling without me! I'm not l-3-3-t enough!
* MeaningfulEcho: "A Bee or Something" and "First Day of Cool".
-->'''Blue:''' Why am I ''friends'' with you?
-->'''Red:''' ''Caaaause I'm awesom-''!
-->'''Young Blue:''' No matter what happens, I promise; I will always be your friend!
-->'''Young Red:''' I know! Cause. I'm. ''Awesome!''
* MediumBlending: Kitty Amazing is a photorealistic cat in an animated world.
** Mister Fluffers and the Genie of the Teapot are both photorealistic hamsters.
* MindScrew: Episode 6. It starts out with an ''Film/{{Inception}}'' parody, which is amazingly the easiest part to follow. Justified since it's all a dream.
* TheMovie: [[WebAnimation/DickFiguresTheMovie That's right.]]
* MushroomSamba: Blue goes on one after he swallows expired medicine in "Freshman 15".
* MustHaveCaffeine: [[spoiler: Earl Gray is useless without his tea.]]
* NighInvulnerability: A bag of chips in "Zombies & Shotguns." Makes about as much sense in context.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: "Kitty Amazing" is this for Red. It starts off with him taking out the trash; something his irresponsible self would never do. Later he becomes incredibly concerned when Kitty Amazing's cuteness starts killing those around him. He actually shows that he cares for Kitty Amazing; even kissing him before [[spoiler: turning him into stone]]. The last few seconds has him as his normal Jerkass self again.
* PaintingTheMedium: In "Freshman 15", Red has a number above his head that reads how many freshman girls he's had sex with. The fifteenth girl asks him about the number before he has sex with her.
* PhlebotinumKilledTheDinosaurs: [[spoiler: Red exterminated them with ray guns before the regularly-scheduled [[ColonyDrop meteor]] had a chance to.]]
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Pink and Blue, respectively.
* {{Pixellation}}: In "Fang Angels" you can see Pink's breasts blurred out for a millisecond, even though you could see uncensored breasts in the previous episode. This is either because Pink had actual areola, while the earlier girl had just dots, or it's [[RuleOfFunny just a joke]].
* PottyEmergency: All of Happy Birthdump, where Red and Blue (mainly Red) eat at a Mexican restaurant and must make it back to their apartment before they crap themselves silly.
** PottyFailure: [[ZigzaggedTrope Zig-Zagged.]] The duo are well on their way home, but the map tells them how far they have to go. After a series of potholes, they bail, trying to find something to dump their load in/on. After what seemed like forever, they make it home, but the elevator's out. [[SarcasmMode Big surprise.]] 3 floors and a long hallway later, they finally make it to the apartment. They get ready to rush inside when the others of the main cast throw them a surprise party, causing them to dump on the floor and in their pants. After that, they awkwardly close the door.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner:
** Red (As Batman) scrounges up a SmartBall while he and Blue (As Bloser) fight Earl Gray to give one of these:
-->'''Blue:''' Hey, Earl Grey! Know what happens to criminals?
-->'''Red:''' They go to ''[[{{Pun}} prism]]''!
** Red to Shi Ba, the owner of the Golden Lotus Dragon.
--->'''Red:''' I don't know what you're talkin' 'bout, crazy man, but I'm going to beat you up 'till you bleed soy sauce!
** Red to a T-Rex:
--->'''Red:''' Hey, ugly! Where I come from, you're extinct!
** There is a rather huge example of LampshadeHanging in the episode "Traffic Jams":
--->'''Red:''' (''[[spoiler: just before fighting the huge fire-breathing turtle with a sword]]'') [[TropeName Catchphrase]].
* PrecisionFStrike: Red and Blue swear in a regular basis, but...
** ClusterFBomb: ...Lord Tourettes takes the cake.
* {{Prequel}}: "First Day of Cool" tells how Red and Blue met, along with several other characters.
** [[spoiler: "Robot Frog" appears like a normal episode... then several occurrences point to this occurring just hours before "A Bee or Something". Blue is talking to his girlfriend ''Stacy'', who became a party slut after she breaks up with him. Raccoon is fighting a robot frog which causes him to be evicted by Mr. Dingleberry. Red swallows another bee but it's actually the first bee. The final scene was the first scene in "A Bee or Something"]].
* RedEyesTakeWarning: In a sense. Lord Tourettes gets these whenever his HollywoodTourettes kicks in, though he's no more dangerous than usual, just briefly more dangerous-looking.
* {{Rule 63}}: "Chick Figures" has everyone {{gender flip}}ped. Everyone except Lord Tourettes the girly man.
* RunningGag:
** Every episode ends with a cut to the outro sequence in the middle of a sentence.
** Additionally, Red can usually be spied levitating off the ground at least once an episode.
** A continual phrase that shows up every so often is "Make That Ass Clap/Crap!".
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: Red throughout "Flame War." He even says the AnnouncerChatter!
* SeriousBusiness : "Attack of the Pwns", in which Blue and Red get into an epic space battle over [[spoiler: the last frozen burrito in the fridge.]]
* ShoutOut:
** The episode "OMG" has one to ''Manga/{{Akira}}'' (demon toys) while also being based on ''Film/{{Inception}}''.
** "Sex Marks The Spot" has a few to ''Franchise/IndianaJones''.
** In "Zeusbag", Mr. Dingleberry calls Red and Blue "[[Anime/{{FLCL}} fooly coolys]]".
** "Terminate-Her" is one to the ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}'' films. You can also see Purple dress up as a {{Companion|Cube}} [[VideoGame/{{Portal}} Cube]].
*** The title shares itself with the title of ''WesternAnimation/MegasXLR'' Season 2, Episode 8.
** The time machine in "Steakosaurus" has a [[Franchise/BackToTheFuture Flux Capacitor]] right in the middle.
** "Attack of the Pwns". Big one for Franchise/StarWars including [[LaserBlade laser scimitars]].
** About a minute into "Freshman 15", one of the posters shows the other [[Webcomic/CyanideAndHappiness famous stick figures]] of the internet.
* StockScream: The Tower Guardian in "Role Playas" lets out the Wilhelm scream after Red killed him.
* SwordCane: [[spoiler: Earl Gray's cane is revealed to be this in "The Fart Knight Rises".]]
* TakeThat: "Fang Angels" is a not-too-subtle one at Literature/{{Twilight}}. "Modern Flame War 3" is an even less one to ''VideoGame/ModernWarfare3''.
* TestosteronePoisoning:
** Red dips into this from time to time, the crowning example being "Modern Flame War 3", where he gets over a fence topped with barbed wire by ''eating'' the barbed wire.
-->'''Red''': Whoo! All this manliness is making me thirsty. [[{{Squick}} Better drink]] [[MemeticMutation my own piss.]] *whips out canteen*
** "Real Dudes Bros Night Man" is all about this. [[spoiler: Lord Tourettes wins by telling a story about how he simultaneously raped and ate a live bear.]]
* TheyKilledKennyAgain: Pretty much everyone. Especially Lord Tourettes, Broseph, and Mr Dingleberry.
* TitleDrop:
** Done cleverly in "Pussy Magnet". Just before the cutoff, Lord Tourrettes gives the advice, "All you really need is a big DICK-". In TheStinger, Blue replies "Figures."
** Red title drops at the end of "Robot Frog" with a hint of BreakingTheFourthWall.
** The opening narration of "Role Playas" tells of the two protagonists opposing the "evil King Richard Figures the Long-Shaft." [[spoiler: For those who don't get it, Dick is a common nickname for those named Richard.]]
* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: [[spoiler: Kitty Amazing. Poor, poor Kitty Amazing.]]
* TortureCellar: [[SurprisinglyCreepyMoment Comes out of nowhere]] in [[spoiler: "Ballad of Lord Tourette's"]].
* TropeName: Before fighting the giant fire-breathing turtle, Red quips, "Catchphrase".
* VivaLasVegas: "Losing Streakers". The Trope itself is first heard reversed when Red first says it.
--->'''Red''': Saaaaal Sagev!
* WeaponizedExhaust: Red's bean burrito gas serves as propulsions when jet packs aren't doing the job in "Attack of the Pwns".
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: They never do explain who Diablo Rojo really was in "The Red Devil". Though, knowing the series, it could very well have been Red all along.
* WorldOfPun:
--> Blue: "I just got my car washed by sorority girls! It's the best!"
--> Red: "I just got my ''dick'' washed by sorority girls! It's the '''breast.'''"
** And again, immediately afterwards:
--> Blue: "So I don't want you to get any of your shit all over my car. ''Especially'' your shit."
* YourHeadAsplode: Red can do this to ninjas with his mind.
* ZombieApocalypse: In "Zombies & Shotguns".
