''My Little Pony in the Sims'' is a set of fan animations by [=YouTube=] user Yudhaikeledai, with the first episode uploaded on July 28, 2013. The basic premise of the series involves life in Ponyville given a very ''VideoGame/TheSims'' twist, made to look as if it were a game all its own. Shenanigans abound.

!!Tropes in this series include:

* AdaptationalJerkass: Rainbow Dash. Her relationship with Amethyst Star is openly antagonistic,[[note]]though that's really the fault of the unseen "player",[[/note]] and she loudly derides Octavia's choice of party music without caring if it would upset her or not.
* AnachronismStew: While the architecture is the same as it is in Equestria, technology that never appears in the show, such as televisions, are commonplace here.
* ApatheticCitizens: Ghosts haunt ponies, buildings spring into existence out of nowhere, furniture mysteriously changes location, the Grim Reaper shows up to collect a soul... and unless it effects them directly, nopony cares.
** One reactor on [=YouTube=] discussed this while watching Episode Four, wondering how common it must be for the citizens not to react to a house that suddenly appears while time has stopped.
* AsideGlance:
** In Episode 5 after accidentally breaking something in Sugarcube Corner, Derpy looks out at the viewer, smiles awkwardly, and tries to slowly distance herself.
** In the stinger for Episode 6, Skystar gives the viewer an unsure look after witnessing Granny Smith trying to chastise a statue.
* TheCameo:
** Starting from the 3rd episode, a map screen will depict assorted [[OriginalCharacter fan-created characters]] hanging around town and minding their own business.
** Drew Carey's role in the first Sims game, in which he showed up at especially rocking parties, is taken in this series by Countess Coloratura.
** Spitfire and Soarin have made appearances as a police officer and fireman, respectively.
** The 5th episode briefly shows Luna as a jogger outside Sugarcube Corner.
** Episode Six shows Princess Skystar hanging out in Flash Sentry's pool for no real reason. In addition, Mrs. Crumplebottom's role in the original games is taken in this video by Granny Smith.
* ChessWithDeath: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted.]] Though it is an option, [[spoiler:Pinkie offers Death a cupcake instead.]]
* FaceHeelTurn: Amethyst Star towards Rainbow Dash in the first episode, starting with an argument and a failed attempt at an apology before the "player" decides to just go full-on enemy. This animosity persists for the rest of the series.
* FreezeFrameBonus: The descriptions of items in the selection screen seen in the 3rd and 4th episodes.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent:
** In one of the map screens, a pony can be seen trying to fly a kite but getting carried off into the sky instead.
** A few times when Sugarcube Corner's 2nd floor is passed over in the 5th episode, a television program is seen featuring dramatic commentary over a chess match.
* TheGrimReaper: Turns up in the 5th episode to do his job, [[spoiler:though Pinkie Pie is able to change his mind by offering him an ambrosia cupcake.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: Berry Punch in Episode Three. At the start she's fully willing to burglarize Lyra and Bon Bon's residence; by the end she's on friendly enough terms with Lyra that she happily accepts an offer to move in.
* InsurmountableWaistHighFence: In true ''Sims'' fashion, unpaid bills lying on the ground are enough to keep a pony from making any progress. This is especially jarring considering that in this world, some of the residents have wings and could actually ''fly'' over them.
* {{Jerkass}}: Upon seeing that [[spoiler:Rainbow Dash died]], Amethyst Star ''laughs''.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Pinkie gets so excited at one point that she speaks fully coherent English. It takes several sentences for her to catch herself and revert back to standard Simlish.
* MoodWhiplash: While the "player" tends to the other Sugarcube Corner residents in episode 5[[note]]having Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake play MYSHUNO, and Mrs. Cake read a book[[/note]], [[spoiler:they are suddenly informed of Rainbow Dash accidentally electrocuting herself to death]].
* OhCrap:
** Upon getting spooked by a ghost, Night Light runs to the front door in fear, but since it's blocked, he then promptly runs out the back door, screaming.
** Played for laughs: when embracing Rainbow after [[spoiler:convincing the Grim Reaper to spare her life]], Pinkie Pie states how worried she was... ''[[LeaningOnTheFourthWall in English]]''.
--->'''Pinkie Pie''': Dashie! (hugs Rainbow) You scared me for a moment there! I'm so happy that you're- [[LateToTheRealization oh.]] [[MediumAwareness (glances at the "player")]] ''[[LateToTheRealization Ohhh...]]'' (lets go of Rainbow; resumes speaking Simlish)
* OhNoNotAgain: As pointed out in the comments, [[spoiler:when the Grim Reaper shows up after Rainbow dies, he is heard saying "Not again".]]
* PlotRelevantAgeUp: The Cake twins are a little bit older than their original selves, though this can be justified both by the nature of the crossover and the fact that the episode they appear in focuses on their birthday party.
* ShoutOut:
** During the stinger for Episode Three, Derpy happily converses with the ghost who was haunting Night Light earlier [[spoiler: about the [[VideoGame/CommandAndConquerTiberianSeries Brotherhood of Nod.]]]]
** Additional conversations in Episode Four include passing mentions of WesternAnimation/YogiBear and the VideoGame/SkiFree yeti.
** When Rainbow Dash implies that Amethyst's mother is a llama/alpaca in Episode Five, her speech bubble depicts [[VideoGame/ThemsFightinHerds Paprika.]]
** The wand that Starlight gives to Trixie in the 2019 Hearth's Warming special is that of [[WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil Star Butterfly.]]
* SkewedPriorities: When their kitchen catches on fire in Episode 2, Vinyl and Octavia--in-between freakouts--are more intent on falling asleep and getting something to eat, respectively. This comes back to bite Vinyl when her DJ station becomes a casualty of the fire.
* SoundtrackDissonance: Lyra's radio is playing a rendition of "Apples to the Core" when Twilight's father gets spooked by a ghost, panics, and runs screaming out of the house.
* SpeakingSimlish: Expected given the source material, though see LeaningOnTheFourthWall above.
* TheStinger: A fixture in the animations from Episode Three on, and mostly PlayedForLaughs.
** Episode 3: Derpy happily chats with the ghost who had been haunting Night Light.
** Episode 4: Written Script sees to the foal who had been left crying outside, while an alert notifies the "player" that the fish purchased along with the new house died from neglect.
** Episode 5: [[spoiler:The Grim Reaper raids Sugarcube Corner late at night for more cupcakes.]]
** Episode 6: Traffic is blocked outside of Flash Sentry's house by Flash himself. Meanwhile, Granny Smith is angrily shouting at the statue on his lawn.
* SweetTooth: The Grim Reaper. [[spoiler: After being dissuaded from doing his job via a cupcake, he reappears in Sugarcube Corner late at night to get more.]]
* UnfazedEveryman: In the Nightmare Night special, Vinyl is completely chill with the idea of hanging out with the Grim Reaper. Octavia, on the other hand, suffers ColorFailure.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Night Light gets spooked by a ghost in the 3rd episode and runs screaming from the house. Neither Lyra nor Berry Punch, who were blocking the front door, nor ''his own daughter'' close by, pay him any mind.
* VocalEvolution: In the first three episodes, the voices for the characters were stock Sim voices from the games themselves. From episode 4 onward, they have voice actors doing their best to match the voices of the characters from the show, albeit while speaking Simlish.
** The short "Octavia's Nightmare Night," which was animated over a three day period, actually makes use of both types of voices due to not having time for anyone to record lines for it. Octavia uses the generic Sim voice in the short, while Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie use recycled voice clips from episode 5.
