''Legendary & Mythical Pokémon Battle Royale'' is the second battle simulation collaborated by Creator/JeremyChinshue and Lockstin from WebVideo/{{Gnoggin}}. In a simulation of planet Earth, all Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are sent out to see which one would be victorious.

The battle is preceded by ''WebAnimation/PokemonBattleRoyale'' and followed by ''WebAnimation/BabyPokemonBattleRoyale''.

You can watch the video [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVO8QrGAPHs here]], and Lockstin's commentary [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlPXypsss60 here]].
----
!!This work contain examples of:
* AdaptationalBadass: In the Legendary Battle Royale analysis, Lockstin explains that they also decided to interpret vaguely worded entries to their most logical extreme, like Lunala being able to control the moon to perform a ColonyDrop ([[SpamAttack repeatedly]]) and Yveltal's InstantDeathRadius affecting the entire world.
* AgonyOfTheFeet: After stepping on Keldeo's horn, Black Kyurem slowly clutches its foot in pain, before letting out a loud scream of agony.
* AllForNothing: Ho-Oh revives the Legendary Beasts after they're crushed by the moon, but then all four of them get cooked by Mewtwo's Psychic, with Ho-Oh turning into a photorealistic rotisserie chicken.
* AshFace: Mewtwo is covered in ash after it narrowly dodges one of Zeraora's attacks but gets zapped anyway. [[DisproportionateRetribution Mewtwo does not take kindly to this.]]
* ApocalypseHow: A '''Class 6''' when [[TheGrimReaper Yveltal]] gets killed. The devastation of the whole fight gets bad enough that the simulation increasingly struggles to process it, until [[DivineConflict Ultra Necrozma goes up against Arceus]] at the edge of the universe and blue-screens the whole system.
* TheAssimilator:
** While Hoopa is teleporting, Melmetal can be seen absorbing Magearna into its body.
** Kyurem ambushes Zekrom to absorb it and become Black Kyurem.
** Not only does Necrozma absorb Lunala to become Dawn Wings Necrozma, it absorbs Victini's power beforehand and Solgaleo thereafter to become Ultra Necrozma. [[spoiler:One possible outcome even has it absorb Arceus, giving it a new (non-canon) form as the result.]]
* BadassBoast:
** From Registeel:
--->'''Registeel:''' ''(upon going up against Tapu Lele)'' Defiant statement: There is nothing you can do to me! Do. Your worst. ''({{No Sell}}s Tapu Lele's Moonblast)'' Revolting.
** Keldeo declares that Black Kyurem will "suffer the pain of a thousand deaths by (its) sword." Even though Black Kyurem [[CurbStompBattle slays Keldeo in a single blow]], Kyurem is left screaming in agony.
* BadassFingersnap: [[spoiler:How Arceus defeats Ultra Necrozma in the "Arceus Wins" ending: after trapping Ultra Necrozma with its thousand arms, Arceus summons multiple Unown in circular patterns around it, and snaps its fingers, making Ultra Necrozma disappear.]]
* BadBoss: The Legendary Birds are all killed at once by Lugia, their own master, summoning Aeroblast.
* BeamSpam: Zygarde Complete Forme tries to kill Mewtwo by shooting laser beams at it. Keyword being [[TeleportSpam tries]].
* BenevolentBoss: Once the Legendary Beasts are crushed by the moon, Ho-Oh's first instinct is to fly over and resurrect them.
* BornAgainImmortality: Yveltal undergoes one as it's exploited by Necrozma. Necrozma shoots Yveltal by its vitals and leaves immediately as Yveltal sucks the life force of other Pokémon in the process while entering its cocoon phase.
* BrickJoke: In the first episode, a Pikachu is seen falling to its death as soon as the video begins, along with all the other Poké Balls. Here, that same Pikachu is also seen falling onto the planet, but then [[StuffBlowingUp explodes]] [[ExplosiveDecompression due to being in the vacuum of space.]]
* ColonyDrop: Lunala repeatedly smashes the moon into the island. Regigigas attempts to hurl it back, but it ends up coming back to Earth repeatedly via Ultra Wormholes.
* CurbStompBattle:
** As soon as Genesect is released, it tries to fire its backpack cannon at the nearby Giratina, who promptly sends Genesect flying and screaming through a portal into the Distortion World.
** Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are released all together in front of Lugia[[note]]their "[[https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Trio_master trio master]]"[[/note]], who immediately squashes them flat by clapping its wings.
** Kyurem interrupts the fight between Zekrom and Reshiram, smacking Zekrom around before assimilating it and turning into Black Kyurem; it then fires an Ice Beam that decapitates Reshiram. It also stomps the nearby Keldeo, [[CurbStompCushion but ends up hurting its foot because of Keldeo's horn]].
** Primal Groudon's rampage is logically stopped by a Pokémon that it is 4x weak against: Primal Kyogre, who literally flushes out the Ground/Fire Pokémon.[[note]]It should be noted that Groudon's Desolate Land fails to protect it because Kyogre shows up in the middle of Groudon's rampage, meaning that Kyogre's Primordial Sea overrides it due to its later arrival.[[/note]]
* DeepSleep: While the moon is bouncing all over the Earth, Jirachi is shown in the middle of its thousand-year sleep. The commotion disturbs it, but after checking the clock, it goes back to sleep. [[spoiler:Necrozma crashes into Jirachi and kills it while on the way to absorb Lunala.]]
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: [[spoiler:Ultra Necrozma is responsible for killing Dialga, Palkia, and in one of the timelines, ''[[{{God}} Arceus]]''. (This is arguably downplayed by Necrozma qualifying as a "Cthulhu" in its own right)]]
* DisproportionateRetribution: Palkia is not pleased by Hoopa doing its thing by utilizing TeleportSpam with its rings. So when Hoopa gets too close, Palkia kills it mid-warp by slicing it in half with Spacial Rend, [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe the other half falling out of the other end of the ring]].
* FreezeFrameBonus:
** While almost every Legendary and Mythical Pokémon is summoned using Ultra Balls, one single Master Ball can be seen for a few frames, which sends out Shaymin.
** As the simulation glitches out [[spoiler:from Ultra Necrozma's charge towards Arceus, you can see glimpses of a [[VideoGame/MonsterHunter Kulu-Ya-Ku]] (holding the crystal from ''Monster Hunter World Part 4'') and [[VideoGame/StarFox Fox and Krystal]] (as seen in the Vaporwave segment from their ''Something About'' episode) in the black]].
* FunnyBackgroundEvent:
** As Hoopa is warping about with its rings, you can see [[EatDirtCheap Melmetal eating Magearna]], some shots of [[VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue Pallet Town]], [[VideoGame/PokemonXAndY Santalune Forest]], [[VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield Postwick]], the [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3 Angry Sun]] and a [[VideoGame/FinalFantasy Cactuar]], [[VideoGame/SuperMario64 Peach's Castle]], [[VideoGame/KirbySuperStar Kirby's house]], and finally, [[JokeCharacter Phione drifting listlessly in the ocean]] alongside [[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire Kyogre]] and a random photorealistic sardine.
** When Groudon is causing earthquakes, Regice is seen standing in a magma pool with a text box stating that he's fine. Ironic given that a few other Pokémon were destroyed by the magma's heat alone, including Tapu Fini, who is normally resistant to Fire.
* FunWithSubtitles:
** When Regigigas says "My body is ready" as it prepares to catch the moon, the subtitles spell it as "My body is ''[[{{Pun}} Regi]]''".
** Ho-Oh asks the Legendary Beasts what happened after it finds them squashed. Entei lets out a bark in response, which the subtitles render as "*bork*".
* GroundShatteringLanding: An exaggerated variant with Groudon's entrance; its mere appearance by landing between Tapu Lele and Registeel causes a planet-wide fissure.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Palkia chops Hoopa while it's halfway through its loop, causing its other half to fall out of the other side.
* HijackingCthulhu: In the "Necrozma Wins" ending, Ultra Necrozma is able to assimilate ''Arceus'' into itself, unlocking a new form.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Rayquaza defeats Lugia by deflecting one of its own storms back at it.
* JokeCharacter: A Pikachu was put in at the beginning, and immediately suffocates in the vacuum of space, because, as Lockstin points out, Pikachu is sometimes [[WolverinePublicity treated like a Legendary]].
* KnightOfCerebus: While the fight is no less awesome for it, the first two thirds of the fight largely have a comedic tone to them. Necrozma coming in and killing both Victini and Yveltal is the first sign that the final third will be taking on a much more serious tone, complete with the music shifting from the Legendary theme from ''Black and White'' to Ultra Necrozma's theme from ''Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon''.
* LifeDrain: Invoked by Necrozma, who activates Yveltal's ResurrectiveImmortality to drain the life force of all of its competitors on Earth.
* {{Lunacy}}: Parodied. As "the beast that calls the moon", Lunala uses the Moon from ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Majora's Mask]]'' [[ColonyDrop to hit Earth]] [[PinballProjectile repeatedly]] (with some help from [[ThinkingUpPortals Ultra Wormholes]] for the "repeatedly" part).
* ManOnFire: A variant involving a Pokémon. As Groudon attacks, Tapu Lele catches fire just from being near the Solar Beam it shoots out.
* MediumShiftGag: Groudon getting wiped out by Kyogre's Surf is represented by Groudon being flushed down a live-action toilet.
* MetronomicManMashing: Kyurem pulls this on Zekrom, then absorbs it, turning into Black Kyurem (with the "full heal" sound effect from ''VideoGame/SuperPaperMario'' as well).
* MoveInTheFrozenTime: Dialga uses [[VideoGame/SonicAdventure2 Chaos Control]] to [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders stop time]] and prevent Ultra Necrozma from destroying it, Celebi, and Arceus. All of a sudden, a light peeks out of a crack on Ultra Necrozma that eviscerates Celebi, and then it begins moving again while time is still frozen, obliterating Dialga.
* MultipleEndings: [[spoiler:Ultra Necrozma's victory over Dialga and Palkia, the only things that can stabilize the space-time continuum, causes reality to glitch. By the time it reaches Arceus, the universe splits into two, one where Ultra Necrozma wins by absorbing Arceus and transforming into a new form and another where Arceus wins after restraining the Prism Pokémon with one of its many arms and snapping it out of existence.]]
* NegatedMomentOfAwesome: Regigigas stopping Lunala's ColonyDrop by catching the Moon with its bare hands and chucking it back to space would have been a pretty awesome moment... if Lunala didn't [[ThinkingUpPortals open several Ultra Wormholes]] to send the Moon back to Earth.
* NoSell:
** Tapu Lele's attack bounces off of Registeel. Once Groudon starts firing Solar Beam, Tapu Lele is seen writhing on the ground while burning, but Registeel is completely unaffected even though both Pokémon are at about the same distance away from the beam.
** While Virizion melts away due to Groudon's heat, Regice can be seen in the background completely unaffected, with the captions "I'm fine" popping up. This is due to its canon Pokédex entry stating that its body will not melt away even in extreme heat.
** Regigigas effortlessly catches [[ColonyDrop the moon]] and tosses it back into space.
--->'''Regigigas:''' [[invoked]]''(watching as the moon hurtles towards it)'' [[MemeticMutation My body is ready.]]
* OffWithHisHead: Black Kyurem Ice Beams Reshiram right in the neck, which causes its head to then slide off.
* OhCrap:
** Groudon's reaction to its old rival appearing[[note]]and implicitly overriding Desolate Land with Primordial Sea, leaving Groudon wide-open to being obliterated by Water-type moves[[/note]]:
--->'''Groudon:''' ''({{screams|like a little girl}}; gets flushed down toilet, representing getting hit by Surf)''
** Lugia's look of horror when Rayquaza deals with the storm it causes.
** Mewtwo starts sweating nervously once it realizes the implication of [[spoiler:Necrozma assimilating Victini (an infinite source of power)]], before futilely trying to attack it with Shadow Ball.
** Solgaleo's LittleNo upon being spotted by Dawn Wings Necrozma:
--->'''Solgaleo:''' [[VideoGame/SonicAdventure Oh no.]]
** Palkia spends its final moments staggering back in terror à la [[Anime/YuGiOh Seto Kaiba]] as Ultra Necrozma's beams vaporize it.
** Dialga, after sighing in relief that it seemingly froze Ultra Necrozma in time, can only gasp in horror when it starts breaking out of stasis.
* OlympusMons: This battle royale is made up of all legendary and mythical Pokémon. Pikachu is the only exception, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome and is the first one eliminated as the result]].
* OminousVisualGlitch: The events of the battle royale cause the screen to glitch several times throughout the video as the simulation struggles to process what's happening, starting with a few brief glitches when Lunala conjures up several Ultra Wormholes to repeatedly bash the moon into the Earth. The glitches intensify in frequency and severity after [[spoiler:Necrozma goes Ultra, worsening as it absorbs the sun, finishes off Dialga and Palkia, and approaches Arceus, with the glitches eventually settling into showing two different outcomes to their fight before the strain makes the simulation crash]].
* OneWingedAngel: Necrozma absorbs Solgaleo and Lunala to become Ultra Necrozma, then absorbs the sun for a power boost before taking the fight to [[{{God}} Arceus]].
* PersonOfMassDestruction: In the Legendary Battle Royale, Lunala, Groudon, and Lugia turn the planet into a smoldering wasteland with the moon constantly beating down on it, while Yveltal ended up wiping out all life on earth with its InstantDeathRadius.
* PetTheDog: Mewtwo refuses to let Victini be killed, so when the moon is about to fall on them, Mewtwo teleports it out of existence. Unfortunately, Victini is then killed by Necrozma's Prismatic Laser, leaving Mewtwo visibly shocked.
* PhysicalGod: Several of the combatants are elemental deities, some are an island's Guardian Deities, some are inspired by gods from real life mythology, one was created to be the WorldsBestWarrior when the highest were three of the aforementioned elemental deities, two are incarnations of the sun and moon, two control time and space, a couple are {{Eldritch Abomination}}s, and the final duel ends up being between one of said abominations at its strongest, as well as {{God}}.
* PraetorianGuard: When Ultra Necrozma rockets towards Arceus, Palkia and Dialga get in its way to protect Arceus. Given that it's a Battle Royale, two Pokémon not only working together, but doing so to defend another one, stands out a lot.
* PragmaticVillainy: Mewtwo lets Victini live, as the latter is an infinite source of energy, and having it guarantees victory.
* ReadingsAreOffTheScale: The video ends with [[spoiler:Ultra Necrozma picking a fight with Arceus, and culminates in the simulation's reality ''dividing in two'' and creating two universes where either won before [[BlueScreenOfDeath melting down completely]]]].
* RedShirt: Several of the legendaries don't do anything besides dying, usually in horribly graphic ways.
* RuleOfThree: This moment from Entei:
-->'''Entei:''' Ba. ''(volcano erupts)'' Ha ba ba. ''(second volcano erupts)'' Hakababa ba ba. ''(third volcano erupts)''
* RunningGag: Lugia clapping its hands and summoning forty day storms, as well as the moon [[PinballProjectile bouncing around the planet]] thanks to Lunala.
* SacrificialLion: Heatran is the first Pokémon to die in order to show off how overpowered Mewtwo is.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl:
** Upon seeing Landorus' [[WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce face]], Darkrai lets out a shrill shriek of terror.
** Zygarde also shrieks after Hoopa steals one of its cells to bring it out of its Complete Forme, in rage rather than fear.
** As well as Groudon when it sees Kyogre's wave approaching.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Darkrai is so horrified by Landorus, that it eliminates itself by crawling into Landorus' ear.
* SerialEscalation: The first battle Royale had an island being the battlefield, with the only two cases of mass destruction being due to Magcargo and Gardevoir. The Legendary Battle Royale begins with an entire planet, with a lot more mass destruction due to the likes of Lunala, Groudon, and Lugia, and once the planet becomes an uninhabited mess due to Yveltal's death, it quickly escalates to a universal scale, then, during the finale between Ultra Necrozma and Arceus, it [[ReadingsAreOffTheScale crashes the computer running the simulation]].
* ShoutOut:
** Registeel uses voice clips from [[VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic HK-47]] when speaking.
--->'''Registeel:''' Observation: This is a great opportunity for slaughter.
** The interior of Hoopa's Mirage Portals uses the design of the Time Gates from ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''.
** Landorus' face is drawn to resemble Carl from ''WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce''.
** Upon being sent out, Meloetta screams the second shout done by the Mic Franchise/{{Kirby}} Copy Ability.
** Entei barks in the same manner as the [[Creator/{{Ukinojoe}} Dog of Wisdom]] in his initial appearance with his fellow Legendary Beasts Raikou and Suicune. He also uses the same bark as [[MemeticMutation Gabe the Dog]] when Ho-oh asks "wha happen?" right after the Legendary Beasts get crushed by the moon.[[invoked]]
** During Hoopa's TeleportSpam, it visits a desert with an [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3 Angry Sun]] and a [[VideoGame/FinalFantasy Cactuar]], [[VideoGame/SuperMario64 Peach's Castle (still dilapidated from the events of Something About Super Mario 64)]], and [[VideoGame/KirbySuperStar Kirby's house (same, albeit Kirby still lives there)]].
** The desert where Reshiram and Zekrom are fighting has a [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Pokey]] in the background.
** Kyurem absorbs Zekrom in the same fashion that [[Manga/DragonBallZ Imperfect Cell and Semi-Perfect Cell]] absorbed Androids 17 and 18 respectively.
** When Black Kyurem hurts its foot after stepping on Keldeo, it nurses its leg while hissing, [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy "shhhhhhhh... ahhhhhhh..."]]
** Lunala uses the moon from ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Majora's Mask]]'' to perform a ColonyDrop, while the moon itself has the same design as the one from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld2YoshisIsland'' that Raphael the Raven is fought on.
** Once the moon crushes the Legendary Beasts, Ho-Oh flies over and says, [[WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse2013 "wha happun?"]]
** Necrozma's Prismatic Laser that it uses on Victini is animated and sounds exactly like [[VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG Geno Blast]].
** When Necrozma exploits Yveltal's BornAgainImmortality, Yveltal makes WebVideo/FilthyFrank's screech as it absorbs the life force of the remaining Pokémon.
** As Dawn Wings Necrozma turns its gaze upon Solgaleo, the latter lets out Knuckles' flat "Oh no" from ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure'', while the actual act of absorbing it and transforming into Ultra Necrozma is accompanied by an explosion and sound effect identical to Water Blast from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG''.
** When Palkia is hit by Ultra Necrozma's light, it gets the same expression [[Anime/YuGiOh Seto Kaiba had when he was hit by Exodia]].
** Dialga uses [[VideoGame/SonicAdventure2 Chaos Control]] to stop time. The sound and visual effects used for this are reminiscent of [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders DIO's Time Stop ability]].
* SingleStrokeBattle: Ranged variant. Upon absorbing Zekrom, Kyurem shoots an Ice Beam at Reshiram's neck. Its head then slowly slides off.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Hoopa sabotages the power of Zygarde Complete Forme by taking away a single cell/core.
* StealthPun: Regigigas says Reggie Fils-Aime's famous "My body is ready" quote as it prepares to catch the moon. This would make it "Reggie-gigas".
* StockScream: Lunala can briefly be heard uttering the Howie Long Scream before [[spoiler:Necrozma crashes into and assimilates it]].
* StockSoundEffects:
** Numerous sound cues are taken from ''Manga/DragonBall'', namely the Instant Transmission sound when a Pokémon does a FlashStep (or does a TeleportSpam in Mewtwo's case) and various beam sound effects when powerhouses like Zygarde's Complete Forme, Groudon, and Rayquaza fire off massive beam attacks. There's also the Super Saiyan powerup cue when [[spoiler:Necrozma gets a boost in power by assimilating Victini]].
** Once Groudon makes its presence known by devastating cities with its breath, it can be heard doing the Godzilla Roar.
* StrippedToTheBone: Virizion gets melted away due to all the heat generated by Groudon's rampage, but its skeleton remains.
* SyntheticVoiceActor: There is one that voices over the subtitles translating Keldeo's cry.
* TeleFrag: Palkia kills Hoopa by slicing one of its Mirage Portals in half while it's in the middle of teleporting, causing Hoopa to be split in half on both sides.
* TorsoWithAView: Necrozma blasts a hole in Yveltal's chest to kill it and activate the effects of its BornAgainImmortality.
* TranslationYes: Keldeo briefly screams at Black Kyurem, which is translated into an elaboration on how it'll slay Kyurem that's read aloud by a SyntheticVoiceActor.
-->'''Keldeo:''' ''(screaming)'' [[BadassBoast You will suffer the pain of a thousand deaths by my sword.]]
* UpsettingTheBalance: Because Lugia conjured up one too many storms, Rayquaza is alerted to the imbalance of nature and flies down to stop it, using Hyper Beam to disintegrate Lugia and end the storms.
* WeaksauceWeakness: When one of Zygarde's cells is removed by Hoopa, it's quickly reduced to 4 Zygarde 10% Formes, 9 Zygarde Cells and Zygarde Cores, and one Zygarde 50% Forme floundering on the ground.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Some Legendary and Mythical Pokémon never show up on-screen, and are most certainly KilledOffscreen by [[spoiler:Yveltal's postmortem world purge]]. The Pokémon who never show up are Mesprit, Azelf, Manaphy, Thundurus, Volcanion, and Tapu Bulu.
* TheWorfEffect: Mewtwo, after spending nearly the entire animation killing other Pokémon left and right and dodging powerful attacks from the larger forces of nature, is helpless to stop [[spoiler:Necrozma from absorbing Victini, then leaving the Earth to die via triggering Yveltal's death throes]].
