Emily Sim (born August 27, 1995), better known online as Emirichu, is a South Korean-American illustrator and voice actor. She makes storytime animations, animation memes, and anime illustrations. She is in a relationship with WebAnimation/Daidus and a co-host of Spilled Ink.

!!Emirichu provides examples of:
----
* AsianAirhead: Self-admitted, and often teased for being a "ditzy anime girl".
* BaldHeadOfToughness: One of her older brothers is a strong, intimidating man with a shaved head.
* BananaPeel: In "Clumsy", as she is initially describing how clumsy she is, among other things, she shows a drawing of herself slipping on a banana peel.
* BanisterSlide: One attempt at such in sixth grade left her with a sprained ankle and walking around with a cast for two weeks, as mentioned in her episode about her being a klutz.
* BeautifulTears: Discussed and also defied in "Crying". Emily says she envies those who manage to look pretty when they cry because she's an ugly-crier. She talks about how the typical "pretty crier" looks; they have a slightly-red nose, sparkly eyes, and upturned eyebrows.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: According to her, she forms this dynamic with her two brothers; John being the athletic one, Josh the smart one and Emily the artistic one.
* BigBrotherMentor: She concludes her video about her oldest brother Sim by showing many things he taught her while growing up.
* CheeryPink: She's a very optimistic lady and is heavily associated with the color pink, as it's her favorite color.
* ChildhoodBrainDamage: When talking about her klutziness, she jokes that her airhead tendencies are the result of the many times she's fallen and hit her head as a baby.
* Cloudcuckoolander: Due to her quirky and eccentric personality traits, combined with her cheerful demeanor, she may exhibit peculiar or unconventional behavior that adds to her overall charm.
* ComedicUnderwearExposure: In "The worst thing that happened on tour", Emi forgot to wear shorts, leaving only her black leggings and underwear on her lower half while she traveled to the Scribble Showdown venue with WebAnimation/JaidenAnimations and Rubber Ross. Thankfully, she managed to bring her luggage with her along with her shorts, but it's enough to embarrass her for a while.
* TheComicallySerious: She often juxtaposes her cheerful personality with dry or serious humor, creating comedic contrast.
* CuteClumsyGirl: She admits to being one, and claims it isn't actually that cute because she ends up with a lot of strange bruises and embarrasses herself a lot.
* DoNotCallMePaul: According to her, her brother John prefers to go by Sim because he thought the name John was too bland and didn't suit him.
* FaceOfAThug: "My Scary Older Brother" has her claim that her big brother John aka "Sim" falls into this, thanks to his leather jacket and shaved head making him look like a violent criminal. This, combined with his difficulties speaking Korean, once made it seem like he was willing to whack a troublesome customer when he was at a coffee shop in South Korea.
* FailedAttemptAtDrama: One happened to her brother Sim in "My Scary Older Brother". When a belligerent drunk walked into a cafe, started smoking a cigarette and refused to put it out after an employee asked him to, his response was to rip the cigarette out of the drunk's mouth. Except he somehow broke the cigarette in two, so he had to walk to the door, throw it outside, go back to the drunk, take the other half of the cigarette away from him and throw that out. Needless to say, this didn't have quite the impact he was hoping for, although he did get his feelings across.
* FelonyMisdemeanor:
** In "Childhood Crushes 2" (with Daidus and Erold), after already admitting to not watching a lot of anime that was brought up, she admits she had not watched WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender. Daidus, Erold, and the comment section all considered this to be an unforgivable thing for her to have not watched. She did eventually watch the show, and stated that she enjoyed it, even as far as to make a couple animatics of it.
** In "Unforgivable Food Opinions" (with Daidus, Gigguk, The Anime Man, and [=CDawgVA=]) everyone involved gets an opportunity to act this way in response to someone else's bad food take. But when Emily says "I'd rather have instant ramen than authentic ramen", everyone else acts offended.
* Foreshadowing: Two instances in "The worst thing that happened on tour" regarding the reveal that Emily forgot to wear shorts and went out in public exposing her underwear:
** As Emily narrates her thought process for that morning, she lists off what she was going to wear that day, a December in Chicago with the temperature around freezing. She then goes through her morning routine, including what she put on -- listening closely to the list of articles she said she put on will reveal "shorts" to be the only thing missing from the initial list.
** A five-second version has a brief shot of Jaiden looking up at Emily with a quizzical expression as they were climbing stairs, with camera angles looking down at them. Not long afterwards, it's revealed that Emily's got her panties exposed.
* FriendToAllChildren: She's very good with kids, and even seriously considered a teaching career.
* GenderFlip: Her high school's production of Absence of a Cello didn't have enough boys audition to fill all the male parts, so the character of Perry ended up being turned into a woman named Paris.
* GenkiGirl: She brings a vibrant and lively energy to her videos and interactions, often exuding enthusiasm and excitement.
* GirlyGirl: There is no doubt about it. Emily is a bubbly, sweet girl who likes girly things like fashion, cats, cute cartoon characters, and even the color pink.
* HasAType: By her own admission, she has a major thing for pretty boys, especially ones that are goofy and have dark bangs. This likely explains why she is dating .
* HeartbeatSoundtrack: Multiple heartbeats can be heard in "The worst thing that happened on tour" after Emi realizes she forgot to put on her shorts.
* HeritageDisconnect: Due to a fear of appearing different from the rest of her school, she refused to learn Korean, something she regrets now.
* HypocriticalHumor: In "Childhood Crushes 3", Emily jokes that Sultan likes smart girls because they balance him out. He immediately retorts by pointing out that Emily is an AsianAirhead.
* Hypocrite: One of her classmates in high school was a girl named Bethany. She would give unsolicited criticism of other peoples' art, but was quick to get defensive whenever somebody did the same with her art.
* ItsOkayToCry: This trope is discussed in "Crying" when Emily says that she thinks crying is a healthy way of releasing stress and, if anything, crying when she feels the urge to do so has made her well-adjusted and happy with herself the way she is.
* KindheartedCatLover: She loves cats and dotes on her roommate Soléy's cat Prince.
* LittleBigBrother: "My Scary Older Brother" video depicts her second brother Josh as taller than their older brother Sim.
* MakingUseOfTheTwin: invoked When she was in high school, a production of Theatre/TheComedyOfErrors was put on because there were two sets of identical twins in theater.
* MeanCharacterNiceActor: Emily is an incredibly sweet, kind, friendly, and bubbly NiceGirl. In her high school production of Theatre/TheComedyOfErrors, she was cast as the nagging Adriana.
* NiceCharacterMeanActor: When she was in high school, she appeared in a production of Theatre/TheComedyOfErrors. Bethany, a mean girl, was cast as the sweet Luciana. While this was because their drama teacher mixed up the characters' names, Bethany still ended up doing a good job.
* NormalFishInATinyPond: An almost literal example. Emily is 5'6", the upper end of average height for an American woman. However, after moving to Japan (a country with a short national average height), she found that she looked like an "absolute unit" next to the typical Japanese woman.
* NoSenseOfDirection: In a stream, she admits to having a weak sense of direction.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Emily's avatar often wears pink clothes, while her boyfriend Daidus' avatar has blue hair and wears a shirt with blue sleeves.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: Discussed in "6 MORE Annoying Anime Tropes", where she mentions not liking the power of friendship. As her animatic demonstrates, she thinks it often destroys any meaning the fight has since they could have just gotten their friends' help the entire time.
* ProneToTears: Despite her cheerful and optimistic personality, she has a habit of crying whenever she feels a particularly strong emotion; not just sadness, but happiness and anger too.
* RewatchBonus: After learning the twist in "The worst thing that happened on tour", one could look back and see that there's no good look at Emily's hips for quite a while.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: With Daidus, as the two are dating.
* SelfDeprecation: One of the most frequently recurring elements in her videos is her mocking herself as ditzy and klutzy.
* ShoutOut: The way she draws her brother Sim makes him look a lot like Saitama in a leather jacket.
* SickEpisode: Visited four different fan conventions in a five-week span during the summer of 2019 and got quite sick somewhere along the way. She dragged herself out of bed to record some audio through her coughing fits, or as she put it, "monetize (her) suffering"; accompanying drawings were made later when she had recovered.
* Squee: When she's especially excited, she'll let out noises like these.
* StereotypeFlip: She's an artsy Asian girl who spends a lot of time on the Internet, but rather than being a quiet introvert, she's exuberant and loves being around other people. However, she does admit to falling into the AsianAirhead stereotype.
* TakeThat:
** In "Crying", she clarifies that she's not the kind of crybaby who gets offended over minor things while showing a certain picture of Tracer in the background. This is a reference to a minor controversy where some people got worked up about Tracer making a pose that emphasized her rear end and found themselves the pun butt of countless jokes.
** "The K-Pop Hole" has her discuss how a fandom can be made to look like garbage by a few bad apples, or in some cases, "bad pickles". In saying this, she referenced how certain segments of the WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty fandom gave the fanbase a reputation for extreme pretentiousness and toxicity.
* TearsOfJoy: Being a self-described crybaby who will let loose with the waterworks whenever she feels a particularly strong emotion, it's not surprising that she'll cry these when she's happy enough.
* TranslationConvention: In "My Scary Older Brother", she recounts a story about Sim in a South Korean cafe, and briefly notes that while her adaptation of what happened has everyone speaking English, in reality everyone was speaking Korean.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Neither Jaiden nor Ross comment on Emily going without shorts in "The worst thing that happened on tour". Jaiden later commented that she thought something was off about Emily but couldn't quite put her finger on it, while Ross didn't notice anything amiss at all. Their tour manager, a guy named Matt, didn't notice anything either.
* VocalDissonance: [=CDawgVa=] once provided a voice for a hypothetical "magical girl mascot" version of her roommate's cat Prince. His deep voice provided a comedic contrast with the cat's cutesy appearance, especially when Prince started engaging in typical cat-like antics.
* WhamLine: "The Worst Thing that Happened on Tour" has its reveal when she finally looks down at what she's wearing below the waist:
-->And I look down and my shorts are not there.
