[[WMG: Mechanica can't walk.]]
Ever since she was a little kid has Mechanica dreamt of becoming a fighter. But due to an accident did she lose her legs or at least the ability to use them. But this didn't mean she gave up, and being a BadassBookworm she managed to build a robot to help her walk, AND fight! Making her Nintendo's first prominent HandicappedBadass.
* Jossed. Mechanica actually is a [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/854577369889165312 normal girl with normal arms and legs]].
** This only josses her losing her legs in full. She may still have her legs, but that doesn't necessarily mean she can use them.

[[WMG: If ARMS has a story mode what do you think the game's plot would involve?]]
So far all we have to go by is the fact this game is happening and playable characters are coming in the form of Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Master Mummy, Ninjara, and Mechanica. Let's get wild with the purpose for why these twisty, chained, wrapped, and robotic-armed fighters are where they are using the few clues which are currently available.
* Well, Spring Man and Ribbon Girl are prominently shown fighting in a public arena, so at least some of the fights are open to the public. From that, the two most likely possibilities are that [[LighterAndSofter they're competing in a legitimate sporting event]], or that they're [[DarkerAndEdgier fighting for their lives in gladiator games conducted by an oppressive regime that they'll try to overthrow by the end of the game]].
* The plot of most fighting games tend to be window dressing at best, so I wouldn't expect it to be super complex. That being said, one of the stages shown off seems to take place in a lab complete with PeopleJars that contain other people with spring arms. Although at the same time, Ninjara's stage (which appears to be a Japanese temple) has old statues of ninjas with spring arms as well so who really knows?
* I'd imagine the FinalBoss of the game, should there be a story mode, would use a massive multi-armed fighting machine in their battle against the fighter who challenges them that requires the player to put the skills they've gained over the course of the story mode to good use. Bonus points if the machine resembles the [[VideoGame/Sonic3AndKnuckles Big Arm]], and more bonus points if the pilot has some relation to Mechanica.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ8e_LOLiXs&t=0s According to the May 17th direct]], the single player seems to be just about the character fighting their way through the ARMS league. There is a mysterious, yet unnamed fighter waiting for you at the end though...
** The multiple arms attribute is confirmed, since the final boss can put on a special mask that adds 4 extra arms for him to use.
** Said final boss is [[BigGood Max Brass]], commissioner of the ARMS league! Said mask is not a mask, but rather [[BigBad Hedlok]], who has a chance to take over Max...
** So, all-in-all, this was basically '''jossed'''. Grand Prix is just your standard arcade mode.

[[WMG: [[VideoGame/DonkeyKong64 Lanky Kong]] will appear as a secret boss.]]
Given the similarities between this game and Punch-Out, where Donkey Kong himself was the secret boss of the Wii version, Lanky would make the most logical sense for a game about [[MemeticMutation stretching one's arms out]].
* '''Jossed'''. No guest fighters from other Nintendo franchises made an appearance.

[[WMG: Little Mac from Punch-Out (or an obvious Expy of him) will be a playable character.]]
Either he will lack any means of extending his arms (in exchange for much higher strength than other characters) making him a MechanicallyUnusualFighter, or he will have extending wire-frame arms, in reference to Little Mac's wire-frame alternates from [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U.]]
* '''Jossed'''. No guest fighters from other Nintendo franchises made an appearance.

[[WMG: There will be DLC characters in the future.]]
'''Confirmed'''. The 5/17 Direct confirmed more characters will be added after the game releases.
* The first to join this way will be Max Brass.

[[WMG: Master Mummy will be the predecessor for all the other characters]]
Master Mummy looks like an ancient and mystical being and is definitely a mummy of some sort. Maybe the person who is making the rest of the characters based their designs off of him and his springy arms.
* The characters being "created" is '''jossed''', but Master Mummy could have been the first human to have been affected by the ARMS phenomena.

[[WMG: Possible materials for future characters' "ARMS".]]
* An Ultra Hand.
* Rubber bands.
* A DanceBattler with accordion-like arms.
** Ribbon Girl may already fulfill the DanceBattler role as a pop star. But accordion ARMS can still be a thing, maybe for someone akin to a troubadour.
* Bungee cords.
* Extension cords
* Those sticky slappy hands kids sometimes fool around too much with
* Chinese Paper Yoyos
* Double (or even triple) helix, possibly for an UltimateLifeForm, ArtificialHuman, LivingWeapon or Akuma-esque character.
** '''Confirmed.''' Meet [[https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/858018076146769921 Helix.]]
* Vines/plants, because it's simple and obvious.
** This might be eventually confirmed due to a datamining listing "Plant" for a possible future fighter.
* Fishing line and/or some type of string
* Gummy/Stretchy candy
** This might be eventually confirmed due to a datamining listing "Sweet" for a possible future fighter.
*** And it has been through Lola Pop.
* Coiled licorice
** See above
*** Lola fits the candy theme but her ARMS seem to be some sort of gummy candy or taffy.
* Whips, maybe for a cowboy-esque character.
* Magnets, a robot with detached floating limbs that he launches like rockets and recalls. he can also float and has a segmented body.
** Although his arms are attached to his body a robot was confirmed in the form of Byte.
* Spider silk
* Reels of film, bonus points if the character manipulates his own spatial position on the fly, similiar to that of Aeon from VideoGame/SkullGirls. saving previously thrown fists from their position relative against the enemy, enabling surprise strikes; hitting the enemy whilst they're down, or as a defensive tactic such as being thrown upwards during a non-stunning attack and suddenly teleporting to the floor?
** She might not use film reels but Twintelle does fit the movie theme due to being a well-known star.
** Twintelle manipulates time, so a space rival/nemesis could work.
* A little old lady with knitting wool arms.
* Frog tongues
* Cuttlefish shells with gloved tentacles shooting out.
* Hot pizza cheese
** This fighter better pray they don't have a battle with Spring Man due to the fact pizza is his favorite food.
* Spandex, creating the illusion the athlete has become one with his sports wear
* Fire hose
* Surgical sutures for a doctor-type character
* A surfer dude with ARMS made out of water
* Algae, such as kelp
* An Archaeologist or Dinosaur like creature with ARMS made out of Fossils, Stone or some hard, ancient material.
** Stretchy tar arms could work too.
* A {{Phoneaholic|Teenager}} GyaruGirl with phone cord ARMS
* A {{Cowboy}} fighter with ropes for [=ARMS=], maybe with the ends tied into lassoes.

[[WMG: Possible themes for future characters.]]
With a cast already consisting of scientific experiments, mummies searching for their mommies, and stars of the music and movie variety to give a small example what else could be the base idea for the implied future cast members? Give your ideas and be surprised at what upcoming months will end up giving us. Maybe use the ARMS Motif WMG up above to help make examples.
* The ARMS lore segment of the trailer does show a diagram of an animal evolving to get a neck with traits similar to those of the titular ARMS. It might be a bit of a stretch but given not all the fighters exactly have the twisty limbs where the game's title focuses on they might instead go towards other body parts. Focusing on the neck we could end up getting a fighter that's a Rokurokubi (A yokai known for its stretchy neck). Perhaps their theme could be a Jack-In-The-Box.
** It would have to have two heads so it could have the same gameplay mechanics as the other fighters though.
*** That's acceptable thanks to the mentioned game rules and the fact wacky wrestling cartoons have the chance to show off a two-headed challenger. I, for one, would welcome a two-headed ghostly Jack-In-The-Box into the ring.
* Perhaps one of the members of ARMS Laboratories has some ARMS of their own. Being something of a GeniusBruiser the theme of their twisty limbs could have some odd-colored scientific liquids bubbling through them as really flexible test tubes.
** A member of ARMS Labs has been '''confirmed''' through [[MadScientist Dr. Coyle]], who is in fact its director. However, her arms are themed after Tesla coils.
* Blobs and robots are one thing but to continue on with what the lore segment shows we might get competitors that lack any sort of quality that is even remotely human. We do see examples of animals gaining the nature of ARMS in the artwork thanks to the giraffe's neck and the stomach region of an indeterminate mammalian species.
* An amputee who received arms from an organ donor that became ARMS
* Similar to above, a former heavyweight boxer of the normal, non-stretchy type loses his arms in an accident, and instead use prosthetic, robotic arms to compete in the ARMS League. Most definitely the most tragic character.
* Parasites in the vein of a tongue eating louse that form a mutually beneficial relationship with someone whose arms they have eaten and taken the place of.
* Someone from a snowy area who thanks to that had their ARMS take the form of scarfs.
* A Handstanding character (probably a monkey) with ARMS replacing their legs.
* An old man who fights with his beard for ARMS. Could be Ninjara's sensei.
* Another character without actual ARMS, who instead uses a whip in each hand. Could be an Indiana Jones expy or [[{{Franchise/Castlevania}} a famous vampire hunter]]
* Building on the spider silk arm idea from the potential Arms Materials section, maybe a spider-type character with four arms and faster movement speed compared to other characters, but has less health then the rest of the cast.
* A lithe Vanuatu land diver whose arms have become elastic vines.
* A volador(lightweight) or horse wrangler(heavyweight) with rope arms.
* A burly soldier whose arms have become bandoliers.
* A silviculturist whose arms have become climbing ferns.
* An EgoManiac Hunter whose arms have become trap wire.
* A quick footed, fast talking winemaker whose arms have become grapevines.
* An electrician whose arms have become electrical wire.
* A ground sloth genetically resurrected, but thanks to ARMS now has streams of tar ([[{{Squick}} Among other stuff]], and all around pretty gross)

[[WMG: Possible DLC in the form of characters from other Nintendo series'.]]
Excluding the well known Little Mac comments who else could have the wild chance of being fighters?
* With the addition of Min Min and how she can fight with kicks alongside her noodle arms perhaps this could go as far as a character with stretchy legs joining the fight. By this I mean taking inspiration from the Pokemon manga's portrayal of Hitmonlee and how its legs were shown to stretch like springs in order to fight.
* When equipped with the Dual Clawshots, [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Link]] could be considered viable. He could have a slightly hindered aerial movement (what with the lack of jump buttons in most Zelda games) while having a faster than average grab (coinciding with the Clawshot's speed). His starting ARMS could be the Gale Boomerang, Bomb Arrows, and the Ball & Chain.
** However, if it was the OTHER [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Link]] equipped with Dual Clawshots, his starting ARMS could be the Whip, the Scattershot, and the Tough Beetle.
* If Mechanica can enter in the ARMS Grand Prix when controlling a mech, then [[VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii Bowser Jr.]] could do the same with his Jr. Clown Car. Since the Jr. Clown Car is already decked out with all sorts of high tech, especially the built-in arms, it could work as a fighter. His starting ARMS could be his boxing gloves, Bullet Bills, and the Magic Paintbrush.
* Due to the stretchy limb nature of the fighters, how has anyone not brought up [[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Werehog Sonic]]? Yes, it's a stretch due to being 3rd party and what happened in Sonic Unleashed, but imagine how fitting he could be. His starting ARMS could be an Egg Fighter fist, a Dark Gaia Dragon, and an Egg Dragoon styled cannon.
* How about a fighter who'd come with her own unique ARMS, and be like Min-Min crossed with Master Mummy? I'm of course talking about [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Hsien-Ko]]. Her Tenrei-Ha weights and default claws could be equippable ARMS and her unique mechanic could be chain swinging.
** ''Jossed'': The game never received guest fighters.

[[WMG: The game is a prequel to ''VideoGame/{{Splatoon}}''.]]
The game has a lot of similarities (colorful art style, use of {{Wingdinglish}} and brand-named equipment) to ''Splatoon'', so it wouldn't be a surprise to find that they took place in the same universe. Maybe it'll turn out that the ARMS power somehow leads to most of humanity escaping the planet, rather than going extinct as the squids assumed.
* ''VideoGame/Splatoon3'' ended up detailing the fall of humanity and ''jossed'' this theory in the process.

[[WMG: The FinalBoss is related to the origin of [[RubberMan ARMS]].]]
Possibly by being a descendant of whoever/whatever is responsible or being the one/one of them themselves.
* Sort of? Not the ARMS themselves, but he's the commissioner of the ARMS league.

[[WMG: Twintelle's prehensile hair comes from the same phenomena that creates ARMS.]]
It just ended up in her hair instead of her arms for some reason.
* '''Confirmed'''. Lore states that it doesn't have to be a person's arms to have the ARMS phenomenon (we saw a giraffe with ARMS phenomenon on its neck) so this is pretty much true.

[[WMG: The [[http://xolta.tumblr.com/post/160783211666/so-images-of-the-six-armed-boss-from-arms-direct Final Boss of the Grand Prix mode]] is [[LukeIAmYourFather Spring Man's father]]...]]
...Or related to him in some other way that means ItsPersonal. Mostly because they both have light blue in their designs, his helmet kind of resembles Spring Man's pompadour, and the preview specifically showed Spring Man facing off against him...although that might just be because he's the main hero/mascot character. They seem to be [[Main/{{Foil}} foils]] at the very least.

[[WMG: The FinalBoss is Biff's true form.]]
The guy has a golden fist hair. Then look at Biff again! Remember that he was a former champ too.
* '''Jossed.''' It's Max Brass, commissioner of the ARMS league.

[[WMG: Biff is based off the Final boss]]
Inspired by the two above {{WMG}}s, Biff shares many similarities with the storymode final boss like having a fist design at the top of his head. maybe he's designed after the current champ as tribute
* A bonus reward could be customization options for Biff to look like whichever characters you beat story mode with.

[[WMG: The mask thing teased that powered up is the one responsible for the random ARMS blessing given to people.]]
It's reminiscent of an Aztec mask even.
* '''Jossed.''' It's [[BigBad Hedlok.]]

[[WMG: Possible reasons each ARMS fighter decided to enter the ring.]]
Input your possibilities on why each of these battlers decided show off their ARMS.
* Spring Man
** Simply doing it because he finds it rad.
** He wants to be the very best like no one ever was.
** Has a relative who was an Arms champion that he wants to prove himself to. (Because the stock shounen hero might as well have a stock shounen backstory.)
* Ribbon Girl
** Deals with her music career and of course, the fans.
* Ninjara
** As mentioned by Biff, he's doing this for his senior project at the Ninja College.
* Master Mummy
** Hoping to find clues of his family's whereabouts.
* Mechanica
** To prove you don't need ARMS to win a battle and also live the dream of being among individuals she is a fan of.
* Min Min
** To advertise her family's ramen.
* Helix
** To try to learn the purpose of his creation as he's not satisfied with being a mere "accident".
** Because he thought it looked fun.
** His bio mentions he entered in secret in order to prove the merit of the laboratory's research.
* Kid Cobra
** Already mentioned he's trying to get views for his livestreams.
* Byte and Barq
** Are on the trail of a criminal who was last reported to be doing something related to the ARMS tournament. Their tactic to track the target down is by trying the approach of hiding in plain sight.
** The beach patrol they work for/people who made them had them enter to show off their latest crime-fighting technology.
** The general public is still wary of having robotic law enforcement and they figured participating in a popular sport would net them fans and make the idea more accepted.
** They really, really hate working at the beach. (The two robots may have problems with rust. Their BIO mentions that they avoid saltwater and have little resistance to water in general.) If they win the Grand Prix, then the prize money will ensure that they never have to patrol a beach again.
* Twintelle
** Is getting research to go by for her latest movie in which she has to play an ARMS fighter.
** Does it to work off the stress that comes with being a high profile celebrity.
* Lola Pop
** Relates to advertising for a candy shop or circus she works at.
*** Somewhat confirmed in a way as she hopes to open a circus.
* Dr. Coyle
** [[ItsAllAboutMe To prove that she is the]] [[WorldsBestWarrior greatest ARMS fighter ever.]]
*** Confirmed through the Grand Prix dialogue in higher difficulties.

[[WMG: The bust of the man with the twisty beard in the quick library portion of the ARMS lore segment is an ancestor of Spring Man or Twintelle.]]
Perhaps a twisty hair genetic runs in either of their families and his dominated the facial hair.

[[WMG: Twintelle's perfume will become reality.]]
Whether it will be made by an official source or fans with perfume skills is left up for debate right now.

[[WMG: Kid Cobra is either one giant snake or [[TheWormThatWalks a bunch of snakes trying to masquerade as a human]].]]
We don't see his face, his eyes are two different colors, and his body shape pretty much makes him look like a snake that can walk. His attempt to blend in is to try hiding in plain sight with things that match his true nature which is why he was naturally drawn to a sport called SNAKEBOARDING of all things. Getting more views in his livestreams is only the beginning, eventually he will reveal his slithery true nature in an attempt to take over the world.

[[WMG: All the human characters with ARMS can switch between regular arms and ARMS arms]]
Min Min can turn her left arm in a dragon neck, so it's possible the others have some form of VoluntaryShapeshifting in their arms for when they aren't fighting and it helps make their powers more unpredictable to when they are obtained. At least Spring Man, Ninjara, and Ribbon Girl will be able to do it since they're the characters who are confirmed to be Unambiguously human
* In the official artwork where Ribbon Girl gives Biff her autograph her ARMS are still ribbons but are lined up together so well you would think they were just regular arms with ribbons and bows wrapped around them.
* '''Confirmed.''' A tweet on Biff's Twitter explained that the masks the fighters wear stabilize their ARMS into the spiral shape for battle. When they are off, they basically have normal limbs made of not-so-normal material, calmer hair, whatever other forms the phenomenon will take whenever new battlers are revealed.

[[WMG: AlienHair and ExoticEyeDesigns are side effects of having ARMS, but are not present in every case of it.]]
Mechanica lacks both, Ninjara lacks the object hair.
* Mechanica doesn't have the ARMS ability, she's a regular human.
** Forgot to clarify on that; she lacks both because she doesn't have ARMS, so it can be assumed that the weird pupils come with ARMS.
* Ninjara has a shuriken-shaped hairstyle, like how Spring Man's hairstyle has a spring-like object. If the latter counts as object hair, then so does Ninjara's hairstyle.
** Actually Ninjara's hair is bound up in chains, so it's possible he just styles it that way with his chains.

[[WMG: Characters will be classified as fighter types in-game (e.g. Power, Speed, etc.).]]
Similar to other sports/fighting games, the characters could be categorized as a type of fighter depending on their abilities.
* Balance (no clear advantages, but no glaring drawbacks)
** Spring Man
** Springtron
* Agility (better than average aerial maneuverability)
** Ribbon Girl
** Min Min
* Speed (better than average ground maneuverability)
** Ninjara
** Kid Cobra
* Power (stronger throws and easier to land hits/counter punches with punches )
** Master Mummy
** Max Brass
* Defense (harder to knock down or harder to hit)
** Twintelle
** Mechanica
** Misango
* Tricky (equipped with unexpected abilities)
** Helix
** Byte & Barq
** Lola Pop
** Dr. Coyle

[[WMG: Possible Nationalities]]
* Spring Man
** United States?
** Nationless everyman
** Brazil, because of the music
* Ribbon Girl:
** US/Canada?
** Maybe Japan or Korea, as she's stated to be a teen idol singer.
*** Possibly both, as she speaks in English but with a very heavy Japanese accent. That is, she may be native to Japan, or whatever the equivalent is, then learned English to either move to an English-speaking country or to expand her listenership to the Anglosphere.
*** Alternatively, she could just enjoy utilizing a lot of GratuitousEnglish, as is quite ubiquitous in [[JapanesePopMusic J-Pop]].
* Ninjara: Japan
* Master Mummy: Either the country he woke up in far away from where he was originally buried, a modern day country located within the area of an ancient civilization that practiced mummification(his look suggest Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia), or unknown
* Mechanica: Japan
* Min Min: China
* Helix: Either unknown or the actual ARMS Corporation
* Kid Cobra: Any possible country where skateboarding is popular (South Africa, United States, Canada, France, Japan, etc.), or possibly India
* Byte and Barq: Either United Kingdom due to his design, or the Corporation that created them
* Twintelle: Either France or the UK
* Max Brass: Same as Springman
* Lola Pop
** Possibly same as Twintelle.
** Italy
* Misango
** Desert and/or plains African country that was former a Portuguese colony
** Mozambique, because of the music(it's very Brazilian, but could fit for urban Mozambique too)
* Dr. Coyle: Possibly the UK, judging by her accent.

[[WMG: Biff will eventually be made playable.]]
Under close examination, he does appear to have ARMS and not just the fist on his head, so it would make sense. His attacks would be weak and he wouldn't have much health, but his small size would make him really hard to hit.
* '''Jossed''' for now, as there will be [[https://nintendowire.com/news/2017/12/22/no-arms-content-latest-update-nintendo-announces/ no more major updates (such as new modes or characters)]]. However, he could still show up in a sequel... if there's ever one.

[[WMG: "ARMS" is actually an acronym for the name of the condition affecting the fighters.]]
Acute Recoil Mutation Syndrome, or something like that?
* Perhaps "Augmented Reach Manifestation Syndrome"?
** "Augmented Reach Mutation Syndrome", perhaps?
** [[FunWithAcronyms Alpacas Rarely Make Soup?]]

[[WMG: Hedlok and the Grand Prix final boss are related, if not part of the same being.]]
Hedlok and the boss are so far the only characters with multiple ARMS and are malevolent forces to the main cast. If anything, Hedlok could be the boss's face/skull.
* Actually Hedlok possesses the boss for the final battle.
** However, he is created by Dr. Coyle, who also acts as the TrueFinalBoss for higher difficulties.

[[WMG: Hedlok is the BigBad.]]
Its tropes page already pretty much spells out that he's going to be the villain. The Grand Prix Final Boss is merely the previous tournament champion that was used by Hedlok as a meat puppet for the final battle.
* '''Jossed.''' It's its creator, [[GreaterScopeVillain Dr. Coyle]].

[[WMG: The ARMS condition and ARMS battling has been around for at least centuries.]]
One of the tapestries in the DNA Lab stage has Medieval European style artwork depicting two fighters with the ARMS condition fighting underneath a tree with spiraly branches. This indicates ARMS battling is a time-honored tradition of that world.
* And that's not even considering [[{{Mummy}} Master Mummy]], who may be from the game's equivalent of ancient Egypt.

[[WMG: This game will have its own version of Splatoon's sunken scrolls]]
* Semi-confirmed, as seen on the official Twitter account:
** https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/872045658118553600
** https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/871683525866430465
* Whether they'll appear in the game itself is anyone's guess.
** They do appear in the game, albeit scattered around in stages like DNA Lab.

[[WMG: The appearance of an individual's ARMS is based on factors including personality and environment.]]
With the mention of how Max Brass's ARMS became belt-themed due to being the champion for so long I think it's time to look into the other fighters who gained the trademark trait and figure out what could have played a fact in their ARMS being what they are.
* Spring Man-His title is "The Bouncer" and he hangs out a lot at the Spring Gym. When your place of training has a name like that plus the appearance of the stage based around it I would say there are a lot of spring-based exercise equipment there, such as trampolines.
* Ribbon Girl-The company she works for is called Ribbonics Records, this combined with her stage name and hairstyle must mean she needs to have ribbons on the mind so naturally her ARMS have the form of those silky decorative strands.
* Ninjara-Being a ninja in training we can expect Ninjara must have a class based around the ninja weaponry. His preference in weapons must be the chained variety so his ARMS took influence from his choice of weapon style.
* Master Mummy-He's already wrapped in bandages to begin with so it's understandable how this reanimated ancient had his own past treatment being turned into his ARMS.
* Min Min-She grew up in a noodle house and thanks to that the ramen her family made became her favorite food. Plus, you know what they say about "You are what you eat."
* Kid Cobra-He's already dedicated to a sport with "snake" in the name and wants to be known professionally as a certain variety of the armless beings that he must be filled with snakey thoughts a lot.
* Twintelle-Currently the odd one out that shows us ARMS doesn't always go to the limb it's named after. This movie star showed it can go to other parts of the body, in her case it's the hair. Perhaps one of the main factors people liked her before becoming part of the phenomena was her long locks that she took extra care for it and through the fact she sees her hair as a major feature that whatever causes ARMS to manifest decided to take its form there.
* As for Max and what his ARMS must have been before belts... I think that before he became the champion and had it influence his appearance that when his last name is "Brass" it was metallic similar to Byte.
* One of Lola's hobbies is eating candy and you know the old phrase of "You are what you eat"...
* Dr. Coyle's are... [[MeaningfulName Tesla]] [[IncrediblyLamePun coils]].

[[WMG: "Partner Fighters"]]
Just an idea I came up with, just secondary fighters that are grouped with the main fighters and they're affiliations.
* Spring Man: his training partner
* Ribbon Girl: a member of her Background band like a guitarist or stagehand, or a fellow member of her idol group.
* Ninjara: his sensei
* Master mummy: his wife
* Mechanica: A fellow Mechanic
** Nothing is confirmed as of yet, but in the Scrapyard, there are drawings of what appear to be Mechanica with a possible sister of hers as well as a photo of the two of them with Max Brass. If that new character is a fellow mechanic, there may at least be speculation for a DLC role.
* Min min: A family member who's a chef
* Helix: a fellow ARMS lab experiment, this one a virtual character made of data and hardlight
* Byte and Barq: Another Model in of his Robot cop line
* Kid Cobra: A Snakeboard rival who also has a snake theme like a python or rattle snake.
* Twintelle: a camera man, co-star or director

[[WMG: Potential upgrades the characters can gain in the sequel]]
* Helix: gains the ability to grow extra arms
* Ninjara: gains the abilty to leave after images after flash stepping to help confuse enemies

[[WMG: Byte and Barq were originally one robot]]
Byte was made as a single robot cop with a dog like head for aesthetic purposes. One case ended with his head getting knocked off and developing it's own independent function, leading to it getting rebuilt into Barq and Byte getting a new head. this explains why the two can combine together for their rush attack and they can participate as one combatant.
* '''Jossed''' in the ARMS notes. They were two robots even before signing up. However, [[LoopholeAbuse they signed up while combined]]. They haven't been disqualified after the discovery of them being two robots because their gimmick was part of their appeal, even with Max Brass.

[[WMG: When he releases as DLC, the next DLC character will be the final boss for Max Brass]]
Seems like a good idea to tease the next character, and ol' Brass can't fight himself. It would also save on having to animate a lot of pre and post Hedlock scenes for the other characters if they had it be random.
* '''Jossed''', although after Version 5.0.0, Dr. Coyle does replace him in higher difficulties if you're not playing as her.

[[WMG: Spring Man will be in the next Smash Bros.]]
Because why not?
* '''Confirmed''', but as an assist trophy. Min Min ended up being the fighter rep.

[[WMG: Nintendo-themed ARMS]]
Even if we don't get a crossover character such as [[VideoGame/PunchOut Little Mac]] or [[VideoGame/DonkeyKong64 Lanky Kong]], it is possible we could get some self-referential ARMS, based on other Nintendo properties. Maybe a [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Bullet Bill]]-styled missile like the Homie or Seekie, due to their similar designs.

[[WMG: The hardlight shield and whip for blocking a grabbing are common features included in all arms]]
They don't seem natural and they can be used with any type of ARMS.
* That would explain why they feature designs unique to every fighter, including [[BadassNormal Mechanica]] and [[ClockworkCreature Byte]].
* Maybe all the fighters wear special gloves under their arms that give access to these hardlight abilities, similar to how older boxers wrapped their hands with bandages under their boxing gloves.

[[WMG: {{Toys/amiibo}} functionality]]
If there are ''ARMS'' amiibos released, they will function similar to amiibos in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros 4'' or ''VideoGame/MarioTennis Ultra Smash'', where the amiibo can be trained by either human or computer players and then used to fight each other. Scanning amiibos from other series will give the player coins for the ARMS Grabber. Also, Helix's amiibo will be squishy like the Metroid amiibo.
* '''Jossed.''' The game never received amiibo.

[[WMG: Spring Man is the son of Max Brass and Dr. Coyle]]
Spring Man shares a few similarities with both fighters which can't be a coincidence. Spring shares a similar fighting style and has the same ComebackMechanic as Max Brass, and his hairstyle has a similar coil design as Dr. Coyle's. Not only that, Spring Man is pretty young at age 20, while Brass and Coyle are 52 and 48 respectively, all fairly reasonable age ranges within the timeline.

Not to mention Dr. Coyle and Max Brass were [[WeUsedToBeFriends close friends in the past]] and might've gotten close and probably fell in love in the process. The fallout must've happened after Spring Man was born.

[[RobotMe Spinrgtron's existence]] might also have something to do with the grudge Dr. Coyle still holds against her family (in regards to Max Brass at least).

[[WMG: The ARMS Grand Prix is the highest level of ARMS competition, not the only one.]]
The characters released in each update are people who won their way into the grand prix through smaller national tournaments. Not counting Springtron and Dr. Coyle who just barge in like they own the place.

[[WMG: Spring Man is a title that is passed down]]
Similar to luchador names like Pentagon, and Rey Mysterio
* Confirmed in the graphic novel from Creator/DarkHorseComics, where the Spring Man in the game is named as the third person to hold the title.

[[WMG: Min Min actually hates ramen.]]
Min Min's parents own a ramen shop, and Min Min works there. She pretends to like ramen in order to please her parents, and, as a result, ramen has become a defining part of her life. To Min Min, ramen represents her strict parents whose micromanagement prevents her from making her own way. The day she woke up with ramen-themed arms was the worst day of her life.
* Likely '''jossed''', as [[https://armswiki.org/wiki/Min_Min her official stats]] list "Love of Ramen" as one of her highest stats.

[[WMG:The Battle for Stardom Party Crash is for ''Smash'']]
Not celebrating ''Smash'', but helping ''Smash'' chose its newcomer. Spring Man and Ribbon Girl will both be playable, being echo fighters or costumes of each other. The Party Crash will determine the main one, while the loser will be either the second costume or the Echo. The combination of the title and this Party Crash coming out of nowhere is the reasoning for this troper.
* Unlikely, as the DLC fighters for ''Smash Bros.'' have already been determined, and by the time the 2020 Battle For Stardom Party Crash was announced, the team at Sora Ltd. only have less than three months left before the character gets released in June 2020. Compare that to Banjo and Kazooie, which were revealed in June 2019 and came out in early September 2019: the duo was already ''far'' in development, so it wouldn't be surprising if the same goes for the ARMS fighter, meaning it'd be way too late to determine which of the two would go in. Besides, this Party Crash is a repeat of the very first Party Crash back in 2018, so it's most likely to celebrate the fact that ARMS is getting in Smash.\
If there were a Party Crash to determine who gets the honor to be in Smash, it would have to be made earlier, like before the second Fighter's Pass volume was even revealed. Not to mention it has to involve everyone instead of only Spring Man or Ribbon Girl. And there's one such event that comes to mind...
** The line of thought this theory went is that both characters will be in ''Smash'', but that the Party Crash was to determine which would be the default.
** Either way, this was '''Jossed'''.

[[WMG:The Party Crash Bash tournament in 2019 was for ''Smash'']]
In 2019, an unusual batch of Party Crashes took place: a bracket tournament known as the Party Crash Bash, which pits all fifteen fighters against each other, with several getting eliminated in each Party Crash round and only one to come on top as "the ultimate champion".

On the surface, this could very well celebrate the 2nd anniversary of ARMS, as an image in honor of the winner was released on the 2nd anniversary of the game, but it was also thought of as the grand finale of the Party Crash events, as the finals of the Party Crash Bash was in fact the final Party Crash for a long while.

The interesting part, though, is that the Party Crash Bash took place in the midst of Volume 1 of ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's'' Fighter's Pass's development. And knowing that when the first game of ''Splatoon'' released its final Splatfest, "Callie vs Marie", the final results may have had a hand in the story of ''Splatoon 2's'' Hero Mode, in which Callie (the loser) got kidnapped by the Octarians. This Party Crash Bash could've been something similar: pitting all fifteen fighters against each other in a giant finale, with the winner, "the ultimate champion", getting the invite to ''Smash Bros.'' The fact that Fighter's Pass #6 asks which of the fifteen fighters will get in the game, adds up.

Now, someone who has followed through the Party Crash Bash, would know that '''Min Min''' came out as the ultimate victor, so if the Party Crash Bash results determines who gets the invite to Smash, then it would mean Min Min would be DLC fighter #6.
* '''Kinda confirmed'''. Min Min ''was'' revealed to be the ''ARMS'' representative, but it was also stated by Masahiro Sakurai that Min Min is producer Kosuke Yabuki's favourite character and was a direct request when asked for his preferred fighter.
