1	[[WMG: Richie is neglected or abused by his parents]]
2	Richie is shown to have a loudmouthed, attention-seeking attitude, and his missing poster shows him to be a mere 90 lbs; substantially underweight for a child his height and age. In addition, unlike the miniseries, his family is one of the few that we never see over the course of the film. Child neglect could connect a lot of dots.
3	[[WMG: The Turtle will make an appearance]]
4	Due to the fact the movie will be based more on the book, along with the leaked script having several references to the Turtle, it is almost guaranteed that ol' Maturin himself will make an appearance, an element the miniseries neglected to include.
5	* It's been confirmed by the director that the Turtle will be in Part 1. However, he also suggested that it won't have a clear connection to ''Literature/TheDarkTower'' as was seen in the novel.
6	* In the film itself, Maturin does not appear, but is instead alluded to via a LEGO turtle in Georgie's bedroom, and further joked about when one of the Losers spots a turtle while swimming at the creek.

9	Namely, it will address the fact that to a cosmic, older-than-time, man-eating EldritchAbomination is not threatened by ''a bunch of small children'', and the movie will find a way to make his defeat more plausible. Then, in part 2, we'll see that the kids spent some time [[TookALevelInBadass taking a level in badass]] and learning more about the supernatural, maybe even becoming full-on monster hunters, in preparation for the inevitable return of Pennywise.
10	* Depends on how you view things: The movie explicitly states that IT is powered by the fear of its victims, so the kids defeat IT by overcoming their fears. Take that explanation as you will. Also, given how Part 1 ends (Bev leaving Derry), the speculation about the kids growing to be professional monster hunters in Part 2 is unlikely, with the exception of Mike, who, according to the director, will become obsessed with learning all about IT in the 27 years that pass between movies.
11	[[WMG: Derry is a TownWithADarkSecret in more than one way]]
12	While the Losers investigate previous attacks of It they will discover that the founders of the city [[DealWithTheDevil made a deal with It]] so Derry had prosperity for the 27 years between attacks in exchange for the children of it's citizens. To make things worse, at least one of the Losers is related to these people.
13	* Not revealed in the first movie, but there's still the sequel.
14	** Heavily implied all the same -- the art depicting the town's founding has Pennywise in it, and the founders all died shortly after.

17	While the Losers research or learn about It, they noticed it often takes the form of a clown; [[AdaptationDistillation same with the 1990 movie as opposed to the book where it rarely appears as a clown]]. But in each passing decade, his clown form takes a different (if minor) appearance due to the times in history. The 50s and/or 90s show him resembling how he looked in the '90 movie.
18	* Confirmed. A FreezeFrameBonus in the second trailer shows a room full of clown costumes, one of which is Tim Curry's Pennywise suit.

21	Once the Losers find him, [[spoiler: Pennywise will kill Georgie just to spite Bill.]] Ironically, this will bring about his downfall.

33	This explains why Bill doesn't stutter much when talking to Georgie. It could also explain why no amount of speech therapy (probably where he learned the poem) seemed to work with him.
34	** When he made the speech at Neibolt, he didn't stutter at all, showing he ''is'' capable of speaking without it. Once Richie pointed it out, he immediately started stuttering again while inside the house.

36	[[WMG: Bill, Ben, and Bev are really just DJ, Chowder, and Jenny from ''WesternAnimation/MonsterHouse'']]
37	Given that these two movies have a TON of similarities, it wouldn't be too far fetched.
38	* DJ and Bill [[TheLeader are the leaders of their group]], and [[NiceGuy are relatively good people]]. And to top it off both fall in love with the red headed girl in the group.
39	* Ben is Chowder. [[FatBestFriend both are the only people in the group who are overweight]], and [[DoggedNiceGuy both have a crush on a girl who doesn't return their feelings.]]
40	* Bev is of course Jenny. [[FieryRedhead both have red hair, and could easily put up a fight.]] And both end up falling in love with the leader of the group.

42	[[WMG: Deep down, Bill knew that Georgie was dead, but he was in denial throughout the whole movie.]]
43	Bill's smart enough to know that a seven-year-old like Georgie couldn't have survived his disappearance, especially for eight months. Bill's character arc is about him finally accepting his loss and moving on.

46	This could explain the whole "you'll float" deal. Sadly, as the balloons aren't able to talk, a true Bill and Georgie reunion is still not possible.

52	You can ''clearly'' tell that he's hurt when they leave him as the look out when they clean up Bev's bathroom. This is why he constantly is cracking jokes so they don't forget about him. This also explains why he had a panic attack when he found the missing poster.

55	With his parents neglect, and his need for control it's not too far fetched. During the quarry scene, he looks severely underweight with his bones being very prominent.

60	Bill, being a writer created them as a therapy technique to help him cope with Georgie's death. Writing the story helped him come to terms with it, which is why in the alternate ending he seems to finally be on good terms with his parents.

65	They have so many similarities, it's not too far fetched, as there are a few {{Expy}}. Bonus points for both films for having XTC's "Dear God", and "Bust A Move" in their soundtrack. Wallflower takes place around the same time the Losers would be in high school.
66	** Beverly is Sam. As both were molested when they were younger, and have a BrotherSisterTeam with one of the characters.
67	** Richie is Patrick. Both are gay, and have similar personalities.
68	** Eddie is Charlie. Both are younger than most of their friends, and were abused by a loved one.
