[[WMG: Green Arrow will die during the first season.]]
In the promotional video where the creative team talk about the show, they say that everyone will not make it out alive. In the same interview, they also show designs showing Roy Harper as Speedy and Red Arrow. So, it would be possible that Green Arrow dies which makes Speedy decide to assume a new heroic identity (with a name resembling his fallen mentor) and takes Green Arrows place in the league.
* This may happen along with a heart to heart between the two.
** Man, I hope not. Poor Alan Tudyk's characters always seem to get killed off.
* Roy feels guilty over his death. After all, he tried to stand up for him at the Hall of Justice.
** Speedy became Red Arrow during the episode "Infiltrator".

[[WMG: One of the main six will die, and that character will be...]]
* Robin:
** Being the youngest and without super powers makes him far more vulnerable than the other sidekicks.
** Jason Todd, anyone?
*** Confirmed prior to season 2.
** Robin is a fan favorite. If anyone has ContractualImmortality it's him. [[PlayerPunch That's what makes him the perfect one to be]] KilledOffForReal.
** Killing Dick Grayson would irrevocably separate this show from the main universe, while the producers apparently are going for AdaptationDistillation. I don't think Grayson is expendable in any DC universe trying to keep some sort of faith with the original.
** But Jason Todd isn't. Retire Dick to Nightwing and intro Robin 2....
*** Yeah, given that Robin is currently 13, it's gonna be a while before he grows out of being Robin.
*** 13 years old with 4 years of experience...seems that's a long time. The next oldest is Superman with only 10 years. So he's got half the experience of SUPERMAN. Seems fit for retirement...
*** The talk of his potential in 'Dropoff' makes me think that the very reason Dick Grayson was chosen over Tim Drake is because anyone with even a passing familiarity knows that Dick lives up to his potential by becoming his own hero, Nightwing, and eventually Batman, so who could it be more cruel and heart-wrenching to kill.
* Aqualad:
** BlackDudeDiesFirst
** Aqualad has gray eyes and is a BigBrotherMentor. Hm, gray-eyed mentor, [[MentorOccupationalHazard why does that seem familiar?]]
** {{Canon Foreigner}}s never fair well in comic book cartoons.
*** Well, for Marvel, maybe. But DC loves {{Canon Foreigner}}s.
** Also since Aqualad is now aware that one of Young Justice is [[TheMole a mole]], then he will most likely [[SacrificialLion be killed]] [[HeKnowsTooMuch as of result of]] [[WhackAMole his investigation]] to preserve the mole's identity (unless he himself is the mole).
*** Just to add to the CanonForeigner point, he's also the leader of the group, a position usually reserved for Robin. Once Dick is old enough, Aqualad may snuff it.
*** Running with Robin's traditional status as leader, Aqualad may have foreshadowed his demise himself in Episode 4.
-->'''Aqualad to Robin''': Then I accept the burden, until you are ready to lift it from my shoulders. You born to lead this team. Maybe not now, but soon.\

** Episode 21 has Robin standing in for Aqualad as the team leader, which may be paving the way for Aqualad's death.

* Kid Flash:
** His powers seem kind of dangerous since he can't really stop without running into things. It might get him killed one day.
** If Robin ever intends to lead, having his BFF killed off would be a good incentive for him to grow up and get more serious about the job.
*** read the Kid Flash Section in the 'Mole' section above. [[spoiler: His dad dies]]
** [[spoiler: Confirmed.]]
* Artemis:
** She is not based on a true character from Young Justice or Teen Titans, but a de-aged version of a rather obscure villain combined with Arrowette because they couldn't get Wonder Girl. Now that they ''can'', she's doomed.
** A lot of evidence points to her possibly being a villain so she could end up going out like Terra on ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003''.
** VasquezAlwaysDies.
** Indicators seem to say that she's involved very heavily in series one's overall plot. She might die as a part of its climax.
** She will die in order to set up Speedy's return as Arsenal. Speedy's plainly not gone for good. Add in a dash of diversity because having two people with the same schtick on the team is redundant ([[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueUnlimited We don't need two stretchy guys]]). Even without Speedy's inevitable return, Artemis is at the top of the list for bucket kicking and given all the rest taken into account she's just a glorified seat warmer.
*** After episode six this seems unlikely, since Roy is now Red Arrow and confidently on his own. Unless something changes, SidekickGraduationsStick seems in effect.
** As it has been confirmed that she is Artemis Crock (and that her father would want her to kill Kid Flash), this troper thinks that she will do a FaceHeelTurn followed by a HeroicSacrifice.
** Well ''something'' happened to her. [[spoiler: As of "Happy New Year" Artemis is nowhere to be seen.]]
*** Turns out, she and Wally retired from the Superhero business. Then she comes back for one last mission, says: "[[TemptingFate What could go wrong?]]" [[spoiler: and ends up getting killed by Aqualad]]. [[spoiler:But it turns out to be a fake so she can infiltrate the Light with Aqualad]]. I swear, they're playing with us, now.

* Superboy:
** Copyright issues will make him die once the battle for rights gets ugly.
*** The battle's already gotten ugly, but its been pretty-much decided that young-Clark Superboy and Conner Kent are totally different characters, and it would be difficult to challenge that. Plus, they could always just rename him. Say he doesn't want to be in Superman's shadow anymore, and presto, done.
** He's a clone of Superman. Clones were notoriously unstable in the DCAU.
** CloneDegeneration. They will discover what's happening at the start of the ep, go through their grief, and Superman and [[WellDoneSonGuy Superboy]] will have a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}. Then either they stabilise him and he lives, or he dies.
** He dies in the comics, though he [[UnexplainedRecovery did get better]].
*** Everyone in comics has died and come back at least once.
** Sadly, likely confirmed by this Season 2 poster: [[http://youngjustice.maxupdates.tv/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Invasion.jpg]]
*** From left to right: Zatanna, Red Arrow, Robin, Miss Martian, Aqualad, Kid Flash. Only Artemis and Conner aren't shown, and Conner has a canonical death in the mainstream DCU. That, plus the box art for Season 2 toys feature M'Gann with short hair. MeaningfulHaircut anyone?
*** Alternatively, he'll have a FaceHeelTurn when he learns that Lex Luthor is his human "father."
** As of his proposal to Megan in Season 3, I feel pretty comfortable stating its him.
** As of S4 Ep6, this troper guesses a descendant of Bumblebee added a Phantom Zone projector to the bomb to save Superboy right before the blast. The Kryptonite was part of the bomb from the start.
*** [[spoiler:Technically confirmed but not really him dying. It's actually a RaceLift version of Lor-Zod who added a box of kryptonite. Superboy seemingly perished, but had been put in the Phantom Zone by Phantom Girl at the last moment, and molded into a soldier of General Zod.]]

* Miss Martian:
** It will turn out she is actually a [[AlwaysChaoticEvil White Martian]] and make a FaceHeelTurn, only to die later on.
** She may turn out to be a SacrificialLion to prove the true evilness of the villain or [[RedShirt the seriousness of the situation]].
** Or how about NobodyCanDie? This is (thankfully) not a comic book published by [[AudienceAlienatingEra the current DC Comics administration.]] At the most, any character's death might turn out to be undone later.
*** At least one character has been confirmed to die. As of yet, we don't know how major the character will be, though, so it might not be the main cast.
*** In the interview on Youtube he said one of the core team would not survive. We also see artwork of Speedy becoming Red Arrow. My guess is Red Arrow dies he's a "main character" but on the outside or Artemis since 3 episodes in we still don't even have a hint of her intro. Or Robin (there's 4 more to take his place in the DCU, pretty easy to get rid of Dick and bring in Jason, then Tim.)
** KillTheCutie?
* Alternatively, Roy returns to the team late in the series as a [[SixthRanger seventh ranger]] and ends up as the expendable one. That way, you have a recurring character dying without having to ''really'' lose one of the team.
* They've released a promo pic of Invasion (Young Justice season 2) and we see the team in silhouettes. Robin, Miss Martian, Aqualad, and Kid Flash can be clearly identified, so they seem to be safe. An archer character can also be seen, and while they are holding a compound bow, that looks alot like Artemis's, the head looks like Red Arrow's, or at least a male. The 6th character meanwhile, appears to be Zatanna, or at the very least a female character not currently on the team. Superboy on the other hand, clearly isn't there at all. Therefore the main character death if there is one, can be narrowed down to Artemis or Superboy, which a higher chance of it being Superboy.
** [[http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/nosyargkcid/19091936797/1/tumblr_m0p68eEdrQ1qmck1h Turns out Superboy makes the cut,]] [[http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/nosyargkcid/19091936797/2/tumblr_m0p68eEdrQ1qmck1h along with Robin, Aqualad and Miss Martian.]] So the dead character is narrowed down to Artemis?
* [[spoiler:{{Jossed}}. The core nine will live.]]
** [[spoiler: Double Jossed. Wally's dead.]]
** [[spoiler: Season 4 dedicates a plotline to Superboy seemingly dying as well, but fortunately he turns up alive.]]

[[WMG: M'gann will be the first one to die]]
Since she's shaping up to be Superboy's love interest, she's probably going to fall under Tana Moon's curse of being StuffedInAFridge to give Superboy a reason to go after one of the Light. This will lead to Superboy becoming slightly angstier, but calmer as the rage and attempted revenge he'll undergo right after her death will lead to him growing up a bit.

[[WMG: ComicBook/TheJoker will kill off one or more of The Light]]
The reason: [[ComicBook/InfiniteCrisis He was never invited to the party!]] ESPECIALLY one that involves trying to kill off [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou Batman's bird boy sidekick.]]
* [[spoiler:Joker tried to kill Lex, but failed. On the other hand, Ocean Master was killed by Lady Shiva, and resurrected in clone bodies.]]

[[WMG: Megan will die in relation to the White Martians arc]]
She loses control of herself, and dies eventually. Either that or she kills someone by accident

[[WMG: Batman will die.]]
He is the guiding force for the team: he deploys them, he advises them when need be, and his usage of them legitimizes their value to the rest of the League. Beyond that, he's not in conflict with anyone. He's supportive of Superboy, is a good adoptive father to Robin, and is stern but fair with Aqualad. His death would create a vacuum that would force the team to grow and develop in ways they couldn't before. Especially Robin, which may be the point in which he "steps up" to be team leader. Not to mention, who kills the goddamn Batman? No one would see it coming.

[[WMG: Kid Flash is going to die...]]
...but will become Kid Fate!
* But will Wally die and be [[DeathIsCheap resurrected]] [[ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve somehow]], or will he pick up the [[ComicBook/DoctorFate Fate moniker]] to become his own person, instead of [[SidekickGraduationsStick following in his]] [[LegacyCharacter uncle's footsteps?]]
** [[FridgeLogic So he'll become the second Doctor Fate to avoid becoming the third Flash?]]
** [[spoiler: Confirmed in season 2.]]

[[WMG: The show has already filled its "one character dying" quota.]]
[[spoiler: Kent Nelson, anyone?]]
* [[spoiler:Confirmed, but it isn't Kent Nelson.]]

[[WMG: The one character [[spoiler: will be the entire Justice League.]]]]
* [[spoiler: The Light will destroy the Watchtower, eliminating many of the world's strongest heroes and leaving the team on their own against most of the world's villains.]]

[[WMG: The character will be [[spoiler:Rocket]], who it seems will be added to the team with Zatanna.]]
* Since [[spoiler:Rocket]]'s more of an ActionGirl, and she's [[BlackDudeDiesFirst black]], she's [[VasquezAlwaysDies the most likely to die]]. Plus, she's a little known character from Milestone Comics who isn't [[WesternAnimation/StaticShock Static]], and thus CListFodder in the eyes of Weisman, who justified not having as many female members on the team as "tradition." It's really either gonna be her, Artemis, or Aqualad - who, not coincidentally, are all characters who broke "traditional" portrayals of their DCU counterparts.
** Greg has revealed that he loves Dwayne McDuffie's work, and [[spoiler: Rocket and Icon]] are his favourites. He's unlikely to kill off one of his favourite characters just 'cause she a kind of macho black girl. Plus, she's not a core member has hasn't, as of episode nineteen, had a speaking role. With seven episodes left in the season, the count down has begun.

[[WMG: Season Two toy box art.(Spoiler, obviously)]]
* [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzmc7h81Mh1rohb0lo1_500.jpg Right here.]] As we can see, [[spoiler:Batman, Robin, Aqualad, and Miss Martian]] all survive season one. Therefore, all [=WMGs=] that involve their deaths are now Jossed. However, only one side of the box is visible.

* So long as the spoilers aren't lies.

[[WMG: Zatanna will die.]]
Since no-one's mentioned her here yet.

Hey, at this point, it could be anyone. Zatanna not excluded.

[[WMG: The Flash will die...]]

Barry would, of course, go out in a DyingMomentofAwesome, but go out none the less leaving Wally traumatized and taking a TenMinuteRetirement. After a few character moments, with some help from Jay Garrick, he dons the mantle of the Flash in an AwesomeMomentOfCrowning.

[[WMG: No one!]]

[[spoiler:And..... NO ONE DIES!]]
* ''Well''...[[spoiler:someone does die. Just not quite at the time that you would think.]]

[[WMG: Wally will die during Invasion]]
Which explains the teams make-over, specially Robin's. His new "military style" and more serious demeanor (from what we've seen from the trailers) are a direct result from the death of his best friend.
* Jossed
** [[spoiler: Not so. He ''does'' die 'during Invasion', but towards the end of the final episode, when helping the Flash and Impulse stop a Reach device from destroying the planet.]] Robin/Nightwing's new attitude is for different reasons, and [[spoiler: he does take a break from the team after telling Kaldur that it won't be the same without Wally.]]

[[WMG: Lagoon Boy]]
Well, he's just got his LeeroyJenkins-ass captured, this will not likely end well for him.

[[WMG: Tula is not dead]]
Since [[spoiler:Aqualad]] gave her death as one of the reasons for his [[spoiler:FaceHeelTurn]], and that has been revealed as [[spoiler:a ruse]], it stands to reason that she may not actually be dead. As for where she might be, who knows?
* Jossed. Dialogue from Wally in "Darkest" would imply that Tula is indeed dead.

[[WMG: Kid Flash's parents died during the time skip]]
Of the original team, Wally and Robin were the only one with a serious secret identity to lose, and Wally was the only one that Roy knew. It seems unlikely that the Light would go to all the trouble of getting a mole and not ask Red Arrow to reveal secret identities. Wally's parents weren't there at the Flash family party in Bloodlines. Maybe the Light killed them, and their death was the reason Kid Flash decided to quit heroing.
* The only reason Wally was there was because Nightwing had called him to intercept Bart. It's likely the anniversary get together was just between the Allens and Garricks.
** As he told Red Arrow, Wally quit being a superhero, he didn't quit being in his friends lives. He's still Barry Allen's nephew, there's no reason he and his family wouldn't have been attending the Garrick's wedding anniversary.
** Except that it's implied that they weren't having a formal party or anything, just Barry and Iris doing something nice for Jay and Joan. Plus Wally is a college student halfway across the country now. They probably just didn't want to pay the voice actors for Wally's parents-- notice that Joan Garrick does not speak in the episode.
* Jossed. We see them in Endgame.

[[WMG: No one who matters will die.]]
If they do kill someone off, they're going to introduce a [[RedShirt new character]], probably one with a red color scheme and kill him off instead.
* [[spoiler: Jossed]]

[[WMG: The order of deaths]]
Is going from how they died in Failsafe: Artemis, Kaldur, Conner, Wally, Dick and M'gann. [[spoiler:Granted, neither Artemis nor Kaldur are dead but you get the point.]]
* Jossed. [[spoiler: They skipped over Conner and went to straight to Wally.]]

[[WMG: Chesire will kill Tigress]]
Who will then take off her Glamour Charm to revel herself as Artemis.
* Jossed.

[[WMG: If Blue Beetle's Scarab takes control, it will kill Impulse when Impulse tries to interfere]]
* Jossed...for now at least.

[[WMG:Kid Flash isn't dead, he's just been flung into the parallel universe of Earth-17...]]
* ...where he'll get a speed upgrade, become the Flash of that universe, join the Justice League of that universe, and settle down with Linda Park, his real love interest from the comics. All as a TakeThat at Earth 16, at Barry and Bart for embarrassing him and a TakeThat at Artemis for being a CreatorsPet.
** A fan can hope, right?
** Personally, I think the plan was for Wally to actually have entered the Speed Force which he would then return from, possibly faster than ever, in season 3. [[ScrewedByTheNetwork But...]]
** Well its coming back now!
** I don't think the Speed Force exists in the YJ universe, but maybe Wally got sent to the bad future Bart came from. There, he could be given some of Bart's father and aunt's superspeed (though not through the speed force, I guess) since something similar happened in the comics. Plus, it seems like the BadFuture must exist ''somewhere'', since Bart hasn't faded into nonexistence due to being a paradox. (Also goes pretty well with the below theory of there being a "timeline split."
** Jossed either way. Klarion made a reference to an Earth-17 in season 4, as a universe he destroyed.

[[WMG: The third Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes, will be ''killed'' sometime in the timeline and the Scarab will fall into wrong hands.]]
The general idea is that the Future Blue Beetle is not Jaime after all, but someone else and is the cause of Impulse's BadFuture.

* When Bart goes back to the past to prevent the bad future, the future should have changed ''immediately'' as soon as Bart left, because that's how time works. However at the end of the episode, it is revealed that ''nothing'' has changed and the Blue Beetle is still evil. This meant that whatever Bart did still didn't prevent the BadFuture.
** This is assuming that another timeline wasn't created when Bart entered the past, therefore Bart's timeline didn't change, but it did change the timeline the rest of the characters are in. Basically, the timeline splits up and becomes really confusing, so don't dwell on this point much.
* One thing that's noticeable between Jaime and the future bad Blue Beetle from Impulse's future is that the Future Blue Beetle is weirdly buff. Like indefinitely more than Jaime, who is slim and at average height. He also doesn't have Jaime's accent.
* Now that the Reach are gone, it's highly unlikely for Jaime to fall under the Reach's control once again. Especially since that if he falls under their control again, he won't be able to recover from it. Plus, there was already a whole arc in Season 2 about being On Mode and it would be silly from a writer's standpoint to reuse the 'On Mode Arc'. On the other hand, if someone else who was allied with the Reach got hands on the Scarab...

So sometime during Season 3 (or in the near future), Jaime will be killed by someone and the Scarab will somehow end up in the hands of the ''real'' Evil Blue Beetle, probably allied with the Reach. The reason Jaime dies, well, that's the only way the Scarab can come off.
