''Loaded'' ([[MarketBasedTitle known as ''Blood Factory'']] in Japan) is a science fiction-themed top-down ShootEmUp game that was developed by Creator/GremlinInteractive (of ''VideoGame/{{Zool}}'' and ''Actua Sports'' fame) and published by Interplay[[labelnote:*]]Gremlin self-published the game in Europe[[/labelnote]]. ''Loaded'' was released in 1995 on both the Platform/PlayStation and Platform/SegaSaturn. ''Loaded''’s characters were created and designed with contributions from Creator/GarthEnnis of Creator/VertigoComics and Greg Staples of ''[[ComicBook/TwoThousandAD 2000 AD]].'' Accompanying ''Loaded'' was a graphic novel by DC Comics, introducing the game’s characters and concepts.

When former catering officer turned intergalactic supervillain F.U.B. threatens the universe, it’s up to six diverse yet equally amoral individuals to put a stop to his threat. From the manchild Mamma, to the cannon-toting clown Fwank, to muzzled mercenary Bounca, followed by the deadly disco jockey Vox, along with flamethrowing crossdresser Butch, and cybernatic bounty hunter pirate Cap’n Hands, it’s an eclectic group of technical heroes. Considering F.U.B imprisoned the six on the prison planet Raulf, they’re all too happy to get their hands on him.

The game spawned a sequel the following year using almost entirely the same characters and the same game engine, albeit one with mildly improved graphics, named ''Re-Loaded''. ''Re-Loaded'' was released on the [=PlayStation=] and [[Platform/IBMPersonalComputer PC]] at the end of 1996. Although it did not enjoy as good sales as its predecessor, it did however have an acclaimed soundtrack, this time entirely written and recorded by Neil Biggin.

A third game in the series entitled ''Fully Loaded'' was partially developed, but never released.

The game discs of both games could be played as audio [=CDs=]. Both games were notorious for their macabre sense of humour, over-the-top violence and extreme gore.

See also ''VideoGame/MachineHunter'', released 2 years later and widely considered a clone.

* AWinnerIsYou: The ending for Loaded is a very short FMV showing the final boss' body melting away and his brain escaping. Re-Loaded also has a short FMV, showing the final boss' mangled giant body floating in space.
* BlackComedy: This pops up a lot here.
%%* BloodyHilarious
* BottomlessMagazines: Your basic weapons never run out of bullets.
* {{Bouncer}}: Bounca usually works as one, until a random crime throws him into prison.
* FunWithAcronyms: "F.U.B." stands for "Fat Ugly Boy". In the sequel, he becomes "C.H.E.B", or "Charming Handsome Erudite Bastard", after taking over the body of a dumb drunk artist playboy.
* {{Gorn}}: Both games have tons of it as you continuously and rapidly blast your enemies into red paste.
* GunsAkimbo: The player starts off with 2 basic pistols, one in each hand that they unleash upon unfortunate enemies.
* ImAHumanitarian: The Consumer is a cannibal who [[TheVamp lures victims with her attractive looks.]]
* InsaneEqualsViolent: Mamma is a fully-grown man [[ObliviouslyEvil with the mind of a child]], who simply kills while looking for his "mamma" in both games.
* MadeOfIron: Cap'n Hands has an insanely durable [[{{Cyborg}} "cyborgnetic" body]], only needing minimal upgrades between games due to accidentally going through (and surviving) ship-less atmospheric re-entry and crashing into the planet's core.
* MusicalAssassin: Vox's weapons, commissioned from the Gabbist monks, work entirely on her voice, earning her the nickname of "The Siren."
* NakedPeopleAreFunny: Butch goes through circumstances that destroy his clothes every time he escapes prison, forcing him to rob others of theirs. [[{{Crossdresser}} He prefers to steal women's clothes though.]]
* NoPartyLikeADonnerParty: F.U.B. wound up creating his best meal by cutting his legs off and serving the meat to the Sector Marines in broth, resulting in him being discharged.
* NunTooHoly: Sister Magpie was originally a harmless android nun, but a malfunction turned her programming into that of a dangerous bounty hunter.
* ObviouslyEvil: If you look at all of the playable characters, you'll realize that they're not even pretending to be anything except what they are.
* SeanConneryIsAboutToShootYou: The console cover for both games, first one pictured above.
* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: Bounca replaces his missile launcher with a shotgun in Re-Loaded.
* SmurfettePrinciple: Of the playable cast, Vox is the only female in the original.
* VerbedTitle
* VillainProtagonist: All 8 of the characters across both games are villains. Don't worry, they're fighting against threats that are much worse.
