5In the future, worldwide turmoils have caused the formation of a world government called the World Silent Security Service (W.S.S.S). Stationed on a self-sufficient asteroid base called Daeadlus, the W.S.S.S succeeds at bringing lasting peace to Earth.

7In 2877, eight centuries after the establishment of the W.S.S.S, the reasons for its creation have long been forgotten. Though some worship Deadalus as if it were a God, a growing rebel movement called the Reformist Faction is questioning its continued existence, despite the W.S.S.S's repeated attempts to supress it. The Reformist Faction managed to take over a nearby penal colony, from which they will launch a daring strike by inserting three high-tech Laocorn mechs. As one of the chosen few, your mission is to put an end to the W.S.S.S by destroying Deadalus' core.

10* BlackoutBasement: The game attempts a few varieties between the monotonous level designs by having a few random stages being set in total darkness. The Laocorn's flashlight illuminates a certain radius around it but visibility is still limited.
11* CoresAndTurretsBoss: The Daedalus' core is a literal example, being the station's main energy cell surrounded by turrets. It is however a LevelInBossClothing that you spend the entire last level fighting.
12* CriticalAnnoyance: When the Laocorn's health reaches below 20%, it starts a loud, annoying beeping while the screen flashes red, repeatedly nagging the player to boost it's health as soon as possible. If any player has the misfortune of reaching below 5%, the Laocorn's health actually ''depletes itself''.
13* CutAndPasteEnvironments: Taken to the ''extreme'', in that the game has over 30 stages.... and '''all''' but the last uses the same monotonous, generic-looking grey wall, ceiling and floor tiles!
14* CutsceneIncompetence: The two {{redshirt}} Laocorns (which weren't yours) who gets ambushed by Daedalus' robots goes down way too easily, especially considering in gameplay you can tank at least five times what took them down in the opening. The second one also managed a few hits on one of the Daedalus mooks, but hardly does any decent damage (whilst in the actual game the same mook variety goes down in roughly the same amount of hits).
15* DownerBeginning: The game opens with three Laocorn-class mecha attempting to land on Daedalus' surface, only to be ambushed by the station's defenses. Two were destroyed immediately, while the third - ''yours'' - made it into the Daedalus. Cue stage 1.
16* EnemyDetectingRadar: There's one built on the upper-left corner of the screen, courtesy of the Laocorn's built-in radars.
17* EverythingTryingToKillYou: You lose all your allies right in the ''opening cutscene''. Everything in the Daedalus wants you dead, for good reason...
18* TheGoomba: The lowest-ranked variety of robots. They only float in a single fixed spot, has a slow, easily-avoidable projectile attack, and dies in one hit.
19* HaveANiceDeath: Should you exhaust all the Laocorn's health, you're treated to a cutscene where it slowly imploding, bit by bit. Cut to a shot of you in the cockpit going OhCrap before the entire machine blows up.
20* HomingProjectile: The Laocorn has a homing missile launcher alongside it's default turrets, represented as a yellow projectile that follows it's designated target.
21* MechaMooks: All the onscreen enemies are robots.
22* AMechByAnyOtherName: It's called a Laocorn but otherwise functions like any mecha.
23* SpaceStation: The game is set entirely in one, called the Daedalus. Which is filled with malfunctioning robots and about to crash on earth.
24* SpiderTank: One of the enemy mecha varieties, although this one has wheels under it's spider-legs allowing it to slide around (probably to save costs on walking animation because of the game's budget).
