Final Fantasy IV Unprecedented Crisis is a [[GameMod ROM hack]] of VideoGame/FinalFantasyIV by Pinkpuff.

!!This hack contains examples of:
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Cecil is much less of a sad sack here than in the original game, [[spoiler: most notably calling out Cagnazzo for masquerading as the King of Baron]]. Cecil becoming a Paladin is also optional, meaning Dark Knight Cecil is playable for the entire game, and can equip much more equipment and even cast Black Magic.
** Rosa [[AdaptationalJobChange is an archer]] instead of a White Mage. [[spoiler: She also escapes the Tower of Zot and ties up Barbariccia! And later helps fight off Golbez's airships during their Dwarven Castle bombardment]].
* AdaptationalHeroism: [[spoiler: Kain doesn't end up being brainwashed by Golbez. Instead, he reveals to Cecil and co in the Tower of Zot that he is [[DoubleAgent secretly working againist Golbez]] and even rejoins the party for a bit before leaving again to keep up the act. He blows his cover later on to save Cecil and co from Golbez in place of Rydia]].
* AdaptationalJobChange: Rosa is an archer instead of a White Mage, although she still gains access to some White Magic (mostly buffing spells). Downplayed with Rydia and Edge, who are still in their original jobs, but is unable to learn Black Magic at any point of the game and uses Black Magic instead of Ninjutsu respectively.
* AdaptationalWimp: Tellah's max MP is capped at 45, resulting in him being much less useful than he ever was in the vanilla game.
* CanonWelding:
** [[spoiler: In the Solo Paladin route, Zemus outright brags about creating [[VideoGame/ChronoTrigger Lavos]]]].
** [[spoiler: The ending reveals that the crystals later end up coming under the threat of darkness again, leading to [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyI four]] [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIII heroes]] arriving to restore the light.]]
* ContinuityNod:
** The Ice Cave from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyI'' appears as a level in the Underworld.
** The Levistone is used to raise the ''Lunar Whale''
* ForWantOfANail: Leviathan doesn't sink Cecil's ship, [[spoiler: instead sinking a ship Palom and Porom board later in the game]] setting off a whole new chain of events. Such as:
** Cecil can possibly stay a Dark Knight for the whole game. Since he doesn't wash up around Mysidia, he doesn't have any reason to go there. He isn't even able to step more than foot in the town initially due to believing he can't show his face there after [[WhatHaveIDone what he done]] before the game started and believes he needs to [[TheAtoner redeem himself]] first.
** [[spoiler: Palom and Porom set off on a diplomatic trip to Baron, but along the way end up being [[InSpiteOfANail kindly intercepted by Leviathan]]. They end up in the Dwarven Castle after Porom uses Warp to escape.]]
* InSpiteOfANail:
** [[spoiler: The twins can still end up being turned into stone later in the game if you ever decide to visit the Serpant Path.]]
** [[spoiler: Rydia still gets separated from the rest of the party and ends up in the Feymarch, she doesn't age up though.]]
* NewGamePlus: If the player defeats Zeromus with a solo Dark Knight Cecil, the game returns to the beginning, but with Cecil retaining his level, stats, and gold.
* NoFairCheating: Trying to enter Mist from the other side (using the well-known Mist skip glitch from vanilla FFIV) will result in being teleported to the final dungeon, almost inevitably forcing a reset. However, [[https://www.speedrun.com/ff4uc/run/y210gx9z the world record speedrun]] does this, ending up defeating the final boss in under an hour.
* PaletteSwap: Many of the new bosses are palette swaps of vanilla FFIV bosses, including [[spoiler:a set of 4 underworld fiends]].
* PointOfNoReturn: The Lunar Subterrane is now impossible to leave once you enter.
* ShoutOut:
** The Gold Hourglass is renamed to the [[VideoGame/ChronoTrigger Time Egg]].
** Cid's airship is named the ''Series/RedDwarf''.
** The OctoSoul fight is modeled after the first battle with [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI Ultros]].
* SparedByTheAdaptation: [[spoiler: Tellah survives his fight with Golbez]].
* ThemeNaming: [[spoiler: The four underworld fiends are also named for Maelbranche from ''Literature/TheDivineComedy''.]]
