Created by Hörberg Productions, the people responsible for ''VideoGame/GunmanClive'', ''Mechstermination Force'' is best described as a ''VideoGame/{{Contra}}''/''VideoGame/ShadowOfTheColossus''-esque RunAndGun BossGame that has you going up against 14 gigantic bosses. The game first released exclusively for Platform/NintendoSwitch on April 2019 via the Nintendo [=eShop=], but it was also ported to the PC via Platform/{{Steam}} on May 22, 2020. Platform/PlayStation4 and Platform/XboxONE versions have also been confirmed for a currently unclarified later date.

The year is [[TwentyMinutesInToTheFuture 2024]], and giant robots called the [=MegaMechs=] attack the world. No one knows where they came from or why. Only that they seek to destroy the Earth. With all leading nations destroyed, its up to a small restistance group to fight back against the threat.

!!Tropes associated with ''Mechstermination Forces'' are:

* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: At one point. You've exterminated all [=MegaMechs=]. You are instructed to [[InnSecurity take a well earned night's rest]].
* AttackItsWeakPoint: All bosses are this, but with a catch. Red cores must be smashed, while yellow cores can be shot down.
* BandageMummy: One of the soldiers at the camp.
* ColossusClimb: Several of the [=MegaMechs=] require climbing up the outside and/or inside of them to reach their respective weak points.
* ConvectionSchmonvection: One of the [=MegaMechs=] is fought in a live vulcano. If the player character falls into it, it will just deal one heart of damage as usual. [[AntiFrustrationFeatures And a platform will rise out of it]].
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: See also ''MythologyGag''.
* DamnYouMuscleMemory: Try playing an older boss within the simulator. You'll get your health, and your new weapons ''but lose your double jump and climbing skills''.
* DoubleJump: With the boost boots.
* CombiningMecha: The [=TriMechalon=] 2000 is made of of a robot crab, bird, and robot, which combines into a robo-dog. [[spoiler:The FinalBoss is this with ''every'' boss.]]
* KillItWithFire: A flamethrower can be purchased as an extra weapon early on. While it has short range, it does decent damage and is one of the best defensive weapons for destroying yellow bullets.
* ItsPersonal: The broke my ''coffee table''.
* MythologyGag: Several billboards for ''Gunman Clive 2'' can be seen in the background while one of the [=MegaMechs=] is an upgraded version of the final boss from that game as well. [[spoiler:Also much like ''Gunman Clive 2'', the final boss is a mech controlled by a duck.]]
* MilesGloriosus: One of the soldiers in the camp is a BandageMummy who claims he is the best soldier there, fought all the Mechs you did, but without the equipment, but he just ''keeps breaking all of his bones''.
* PajamaCladHero: In the AllYourBase level.
* PunnyName: If the [=MegaMech=] doesn't have a ShoutOut as a name, then it will most likely have one of these, like the giant snail like boss Mechscargot.
* SecretCharacter: If you own ''Gunman Clive HD Collection'' on Switch, you can unlock [[spoiler:Gunman Clive himself]] as a fifth playable character.
* SequentialBoss: Every boss has at least a second form, either it transforms, or it loses bits of its original design and is determined to still smush you.
* TrickedOutGloves: The magnetic gloves that allow you to ColossusClimb
