''Godzilla: Save The Earth Melee'' is a {{Fighting|Game}} FanGame being developed by [[https://www.youtube.com/@Gojirex/featured Gojirex]].

Starting its existence as fan remaster and update on ''[[VideoGame/PipeworksGodzillaTrilogy Godzilla: Save the Earth]]'', it eventually evolved into a much larger project: an unofficial sequel to the Pipeworks Trilogy combining aspects of all three with new monsters, new stages, and new mechanics.

----

* AdaptationalBadass: Many characters have been powered up over their original incarnations in the games. For example, Destroyah and Mechagodzilla can now fly and Jet Jaguar now has elemental beams and a quick fire disk attack. Some kaiju are now noticably larger.
* AdaptationNameChange:
** Downplayed for Kiryu's case as he was officially referred to as such in ''Godzilla Unleashed'', unlike the previous installments in the trilogy where he was originally known as Mechagodzilla 3.
** The Heisei Mechagodzilla, AKA Mechgodzilla 2, is specifically called Super Mechagodzilla in ''Save the Earth Melee''.
* AntiFrustrationFeatures: The missiles fired by military tanks in the original games were able to harm monsters, which not only caused them to flinch but also lose small bits of health. The most irritating thing of all is monsters that are carrying buildings will instantly drop one if hit by an incoming missile. This aspect doesn't happen and is fully removed in ''Save the Earth Melee'' as all of the monsters can shrug off military weapons while leaving their health intact.
* BigDamnHeroes: Super Mechagodzilla's reveal trailer has the mecha arrive to save Kiryu from Final Wars Gigan.
* CompositeCharacter: Godzilla 2000 is modified to include aspects of his ''Film/GodzillaVsMegaguirus'' move set, including his infamous belly flop.
* EnergyAbsorption: A newly added mechanic for Mechagodzilla II is being able to soak in power from long-ranged beam attacks from an enemy by simply blocking with its synthetic diamond-coated armor similarly to its film counterpart, as this allows Mechagodzilla to store power to refill its energy meter as well as amplifying the effectiveness of its [[ChestBlaster Plasma Grenade]].
* EvilIsBigger: Destroyah, who's one of the most hateful and despicable kaiju there is in the ''Godzilla'' mythos, is visibly the largest (as of yet) as he dwarfs most of the monsters unlike his vanilla counterpart where he was roughly the same size as any other kaiju aside from King Ghidorah.
* FragileSpeedster: Fire Rodan is small and ''very'' fast and nimble, but is in big trouble if actually caught.
* ImmuneToFlinching: Highly averted. Monsters that were mostly resistant to damage from powerful attacks that can send the opponent sailing through the air like Mechagodzilla II, Kiryu, and Orga in ''Destroy All Monsters Melee'' and ''Save the Earth'', now basically suffer the same type of punishment like the others regardless of how much damage the opponent's attack has dealt.
* InASingleBound: The Special Ability for the Millennium Godzilla allows him to do his infamous humongous leap from ''Godzilla vs. Megaguirus'', which ends with him doing a plummeting bodyslam onto the opponent upon impact. This attack is also shared with the other Millennium incarnations, especially his ''Final Wars'' version, who can also lunge into the air to great heights just like in the film. The official given name for the Special Ability from Gojirex and his team is even called "The Funny Jump".
* {{Leitmotif}}: All of the playable kaiju have memorable themes from their respective film appearances that are noticeably heard during their BattleIntro.
* LongRangeFighter: Highly downplayed for Super Mechagodzilla, as its major strength for its moveset is firing various beam weapons like the WalkingArsenal its purposely designed for, its more than capable of battling other monsters in close-quarters combat for its moveset.
* MechaExpansionPack: Mechagodzilla 2 is now Super Mechagodzilla, having been given the Garuda.
* MightyGlacier: Destroyah is the most weightiest monster with pitiful movement speed packed with being the strongest bruiser there is and his Variable Slicer possesses disgusting range that can easily take a monster's health apart.
* MovesetClone: While avoided with seperate characters, one difference between this and the original Pipeworks Trilogy is monsters will have skins. While Godzilla ''does'' have multiple different incarnations with unique move sets, he will also have skins that let him be incarnations not in the game proper.
* MultiSlotCharacter: While Godzilla was already spread across multiple characters in the original games (90s and 2000 specifically), there will be more in this game, including Monster'Verse Godzilla, Fire Rodan being a separate character, and Gigan's two incarnations being separate characters.
* MythologyGag: On the thumbnail for Godzilla 2000's moveset demonstration, it shows the monster knocking down Heisei Mechagodzilla with his fist, which is one-for-one a direct reference to the well-known U.S. boxart for ''Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee''.
* NowItsMyTurn: Super Mechagodzilla's reveal trailer has it get beaten down by multiple kaiju before fighting back with all its weapons.
* {{Remaster}}: The game began its existence as one, but eventually evolved into more or less a fan made sequel.
* TheWorfEffect: The reveal trailers for Orga and Godzilla 2000 have the former beat the stuffing out of Super Mechagodzilla, Kiryu, and Jet Jaguar, before Godzilla 2000 makes himself known by one shotting Megaguirus and engaging Orga.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe:
** Orga's playstyle is based around getting in close and smashing his opponent's face in with his raw strength, which meant that players could simply run away and spam ranged attacks in the vanilla game. It's for this reason Orga's beam can now draw enemies towards him.
** Final Wars Gigan ammo-type attack is his grapple chains from the film.
