Final Fantasy: Chronicles of Eno is an in-development fangame based off of the [[RunningGag tear-inducingly]] popular ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' franchise. The project started off as a custom Final Fantasy D6 campaign that ended on June 27th 2022, and so the game is likely to remain in development for some time.

The game does not share a universe with any previous Final Fantasy title. Rather, much like how each new entry in the main Final Fantasy series itself takes place in a unique setting, the setting is the world of Eno. It shares many of the elements that connects each Final Fantasy's setting, such as Chocobos and Moogles, but has its own lore and unrelated storyline.

The D6 campaign was recorded, the ongoing series can be found on ''[[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-988qbtBHlxQNysK2FWSdfAAo7jfNnp9 YouTube.]]''

Work on the game adaption began in early 2019 in the 'RPG Maker MV' engine, and it is currently ongoing. The first chapter can be found on ''[[https://gamejolt.com/games/ChroniclesOfEno/467699 Gamejolt.]]''

----
!!''Final Fantasy: Chronicles of Eno'' contains the following tropes:

* ActionGirl: Ni Ethil, a Vetayan Ranger and lethal archer, just like her sisters.
** Mika Solwin, despite her status as a healer, proves to be capable in a fight.
** Athena, an old friend of Alicier.
* AdaptationDeviation: Some things had to be changed to adapt the concept from tabletop to videogame form, such as more numerous combat encounters since the game has a lot of dialogue.
* AlcoholInducedIdiocy: Thanatos has shades of this, though Ni and Alicier have both had their share.
** The deviacorp scientist they encounter in Costa Del Sol.
* AmnesiacHero: Ni Ethil may be some flavour of this. [[spoiler:Her true name is Eralia Blackstorm, something she was apparently supposed to remember despite being found as a mere infant. Her true origins are a huge plot point. She might not even be a true elvaan!]]
* AndIMustScream: The now-ghost victims of the Seat of the Plague. Their [[spoiler:bodies were fused together to create the Seat in the first place.]]
** [[spoiler:Tiamat at the end of Chapter 3.]]
* AntiVillain: [[spoiler:Soraan Junleel in the end. He had a change of heart after taking the Murasan identity, and has been committing many of his worst acts to build the party's resolve for when they finally reach Diabolos.]]
* AscendedExtra: Mika Solwin joins the party towards the end of the first chapter.
* AxCrazy: Many of the infected in M'Rasu, including the first enemy of the game.
* BabiesEverAfter: The final scene has Rocket's eggs hatch.
* BackTracking: Heading back to M'Rasu from the plains outside the city.
* BeneathTheMask: Ni tries to act confident and assured to those around her, often acting as a de-facto leader of the group. But her mysterious past is always catching up with her, and when it does it shows just how much of a bad place she is in mentally.
** The mask shatters entirely in Chapter 6, Ni going through her DespairEventHorizon during its course.
** Rocket seems adorable, but more than one person has lost their ability to sire children because of her. [[spoiler: Her favourite move is a kick to the nuts.]]
* BigGood: Ni Ethil, Thanatos, Alicier, Mika Solwin and Rocket the Chocobo. The player can select which character they wish as their party leader from the former four on the game's opening, Mika joins a short time later.
* BigBad: The God of Death, Diabolos.
** Soraan and the Seat of the Plague for Chapter 1: Plague of M'Rasu.
** Nabot for Chapter 2: Everybody's Grudge.
** The Director and Murasan in Chapter 3: Legacy of Lazarus. The latter becomes a more recurring threat.
** The head of the Vinaldi Family, Tchakal, during Chapter 4: Darkside. [[spoiler: As is Caius after a plot twist.]]
** Murasan returns for Chapter 5: Broken Chains. [[spoiler:From afar, manipulating the ex-paladin Elizibeth.]] There is also an ancient SealedEvilInACan in the form of Hades, another servant of Diabolos quite like Murasan.
** Gabranth in Chapter 6: Blackstorm [[spoiler: when he is revealed to be both Ni Ethil's father and the man charged with hunting both her and Penara down and killing them]], an {{expy}} of the Gabranth from Final Fantasy XII. Also [[spoiler:Emma, the child who Ni inadvertently stole a body from, her soul remains trapped is seething with rage over what happened.]] Though her antagonism is only temporary, before being supplanted as the main threat by Nelzotol, an amber dragon in service to Diabolos.
** Diabolos himself finally confronts the group as the FinalBoss in Chapter 7: From the Ashes. Murasan, [[spoiler:now revealed to be a revived Soraan,]] also has his final confrontation here.
* BigDamnHeroes: The citizens of M'Rasu see the player party as this, even though they ended up helping the city quite by accident.
* BigDamnReunion: Rocket reunites with her former travelling companion in Chapter 2.
* BodyHorror: What amber can twist and break you into. This ranges from infected cultists to a demigod dragon having it bind into her skin as her mind is twisted and shattered.
** When [[spoiler:Ni Ethil]] is revealed to be an inadvertent BodySnatcher she has a HeroicBsod that leads her feeling like a parasite who shouldn't even be alive.
* BodySnatcher: [[spoiler:Ni Ethil, born Eralia Blackstorm, is revealed to have inadvertently stolen the body of another child after her mother's spell went wrong.]]
* BonusStage: Should certain actions be taken, these may pop up every once in a while. These can range from secret cutscenes to full dungeons.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: The cult in M'Rasu, including its leader, Soraan.
* BreatherEpisode: A moment of calm and a budding romance between Ni and Mika after the player party got completely destroyed by Soraan. This moment is soon shattered, however, when Ni has a particularly traumatic vision.
* BreakTheCutie: When Mika is forced into combat for the first time.
** Subverted when Diabolos mentally screwed with Rocket to try and achieve this, only for her to be amazingly unfazed by the experience. [[spoiler:Probably for the best, you don't want to get in her way when she uses her ADULT voice.]]
* BreakingTheFourthWall: This is one of Rocket's habits, along with WorldOfPun that makes her either a chocobo Pinkie Pie or Deadpool. Probably some terrifying mix of the two.
* BullyingADragon: The group taunting Nelzotol is this in a very literal sense.
* CatGirl: Mika, and most of the other residents of M'Rasu.
* CharacterDevelopment: All the party members go through this.
* ClarksThirdLaw: MagiTek.
* {{Cult}}: The Cult of M'Rasu.
* CombinationAttack: The FinishingMove to kill the Seat of the Plague.
* CoolShip: The Stargazer. Cid's, as you might imagine.
* CuriosityKilledTheCast: When the group first see Soraan and attempt to sneak up on him rather than fall back for reinforcements. They learnt this lesson well, so things went quite differently the next time.
* CurbStompBattle: The player VS Soraan, both sides of the coin during the two fights with him.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Pretty much all of the player party qualifies to some degree, though Alicier has had the least amount of trouble prior to the game's start.
* DarkestHour: Murasan has breached the Sunken Temple, attacking Leviathan's eidolon and the Crystal of Darkness it protects. Meanwhile, the party are teleported forcibly away from her side and attacked by the horrifically mutated and brainwashed Tiamat who is trapped inside her own body and can only just mouth for them to end her suffering. But her power is immense and, should they tarry, Murasan gets closer to defeating Leviathan and breaking the crystal. It is obvious the games are over, and the beginning of the end has arrived...
** [[spoiler: It gets worse. While the group manage to reach the crystal and save most of its power in a new shard given to Mika, M'Rasu is completely destroyed as Leviathan falls, with most of the population decimated and Vanaar's fate unknown.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: Thanatos, who is a dark knight and empowered by shadow (much to Soraan's surprise).
** Played with when [[spoiler: Caius is revealed to be Thanatos' copy, created from all that is dark and evil within the Dark Knight. He does hold some affection for his progenitor, but it doesn't stop him from legitimiately attempting to steal his body for himself.]]
* DarkKnight: Thanatos Shadowgrasp and Caius Artoriel. [[spoiler: Even if they are technically the same person.]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: Each initial member of the party has their own storyline running alongside the main story.
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: The group finds two infected orphans, Ni going to great lengths to ensure they will have a home when all is said and done.
** Thanatos.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Not 'friendship' exactly, but Vorn and the party become surprisingly cooperative with one another after the former was defeated.
* DesperationAttack: With their enemy wiping the floor with her and her friends, Ni Ethil performs her first LimitBreak to turn the tide, inspiring the others to perform similar feats ending in a CombinationAttack to finish it off.
* DespairEventHorizon: Ni goes through a pretty rough one in Chapter 6. She has always been the acting leader of the group, and arguably the one closest to a central protagonist in a story containing five overall protagonists. As such, she is often the 'Captain America' of the group, attempting to stay true to morality and inspire others to do the same. However, BeneathTheMask it's largely a facade. She DOES believe in doing what's right and in the right way, desperate to be good, but that largely stems from her insecurities of being something worse at her core. When her fears are realised, the fallout is something to behold. She attempts to pick up the pieces, remaining the group's leader, but things are never quite the same again.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Turns out 'Water' is more potent than one might think.
* DidYouJustHaveSex: Thanatos has long teased [[spoiler:Mika and Ni]] for their relationship, and of course he would be among the first to notice after they slept together for the first time at the end of Chapter 4.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Despite being many levels higher and impervious to any of the party's attacks, Murasan's nose is broken by a random shard of amber Ni Ethil picks up and throws at him. Too bad this causes him to let off his FantasticNuke in retribution.
* DiskOneFinalBoss: Soraan seems to be the big bad in charge of the M'Rasu cult, then you meet the Seat of the Plague...
** The Seat of the Plague itself. Killing it only finishes chapter 1, and it's only 'then' that you reach the full world map of Eno, confined to the M'Rasu Isle before that.
* DivineAssistance: After learning of the threat Diabolos has become in the shadows, Leviathan is all too happy to offer her assistance in both combating him and approaching Bahamut about the matter. [[spoiler:Too bad Murasan arrives to shatter her Crystal of Darkness.]]
* DoomedHometown: [[spoiler: M'Rasu, the location for all of chapter 1, is washed away at the beginning of chapter 7. It does not return to the world map.]]
* DoorstepBaby: Only Ni was left inside a crate in some random alleyway.
* TheDreaded: The God of Death whom Soraan serves.
* DreamSequence: Ni is haunted by visions of a dark figure, being the igniting factor of her story.
* EarnYourBadEnding: Getting enough wrong answers while facing Alexander's riddle puzzle in M'Rasu takes some effort, and it's the only ending of the dungeon where you come away with nothing but a kupo nut that is immediatly eaten by Cogmog the Moogle. He considers this the GoldenEnding in a sequence PlayedForLaughs entirely.
* EasterEgg: The rope found in the M'Rasu Streets dungeon at the beginning of the game, a reference to the tabletop campaigns first critical fail.
* EldritchAbomination: The Seat of the Plague.
* EldritchLocation: There are whole cave systems made out of amber, the source of the world's corruption...
* ElementalRockPaperScissors: As is typical with an RPG of this type, certain enemies can be strong or weak against certain attack types.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: [[spoiler:Soraan's]] reasoning for his change of heart. While he was once loyal to Diabolos when the party first encountered him, upon realising the completion of his purpose would lead to the death of the world, and what remained of his friends as well as the woman he loves, he decides his new purpose was to see them fail.
* ExpendableClone: After [[spoiler: Caius is slain by the party, he becomes a summonable clone of Thanatos as an extra party member functioning as a magically expensive ability.]]
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Your enemy during the HopelessBossFight cannot be killed. If the player was to somehow ever get around this ironclad fact, the DM from the tabletop sessions would appear, angrily chastise them for blatant cheating, and boot them back to the title screen. The characters are very confused by this turn of events.
* FallenHero: Elizabeth was once a Paladin who, according to her former master, was a bubbly individual who was eager to please as she was to jump headfirst into a situation if she could save a life. Her experiences have led her to become a pessimistic soul filled with hatred due to severe PTSD. Though not irredeemably so.
** Soraan was once an adventurer with a group not unlike the Warriors of Light. One mission gone bad put an end to all that.
* FantasticNuke: Murasan sets off an explosion that leaves quite the crator where Deviacorp used to be.
** When Soraan attacks the Arch-magi of Anomo, Shantoto attempts to finish him off by casting Ultima. Her unparalleled control of the spell allows her to contain the magic to a limited area, obliterating the top of the academy instead of levelling the entire mountain range. And Soraan SURVIVES it!
* FinalBattle: The Tower of Creation is in position and, when repairs are done, will be used as a {{Superweapon}} to wipe out all life on the planet that cannot resist the shadow element or aren't otherwise powerful enough to tank the blast. With the world in the balance and the tower surrounded by a gargantuan horde of demons, the nations of the world assemble the largest joint fleet of airships ever seen just to give the crew of the Little Wing a shot at getting inside the tower.
* FinallyFoundTheBody: After Leviathan brings [[spoiler:M'Rasu back above the waves, most of the city is smashed and unrecognisable, though the castle remains remarkably intact. Within, in the topmost chamber, they discover the body of their long-missing friend Vanaar, who perished attempting to shelter a host of civilians from the coming flood.]]
* FinishingMove: The party join up to finally strike down the EldritchAbomination Seat of the Plague.
* FriendshipMoment: Ni and Thanatos share a couple of these.
** The two also have confided in one another the reasons for their fragile states of mind, something neither has shared with Alicier or Rocket.
** When Thanatos begins to slip into darkness during their time in Kurzitan, finding himself feeling alone, the group asserts that they are his family now, and they will stick by him throughout.
* FromBadToWorse: As if the plague wasn't enough, turns out a GOD was behind it.
* GivenNameReveal:
** [[spoiler:Ni Ethil is Eralia Blackstorm.]]
** [[spoiler:Thanatos Shadowgrasp is Talion Estheim]]
* GoingDownWithTheShip: Vanaar chooses to stay behind to help with the evacuation, leaving his fate unknown after all was said and done.
* GuestStarPartyMember: Kyra joins the party for a single dungeon while Mika is studying in Anomo. She leaves afterwards, and Mika returns full-time soon afterwards.
* GunsVsSwords: Magitek weaponry resembles modern firearms, leading to situations where one combatant may have a blade while the other has a sniper rifle.
* GrandRomanticGesture: After spending almost two months with Ni and Mika nervously exploring their feelings, the former is seeking a way to let the latter know that she has truly fallen in love with her. To do this, she has secretly commissioned a dress in Mika's favourite colour (red) and wishes to present it on a surprise date when they reach Mika's destination, the Academy City of Anomo. Unfortunately, Ni is a horrible liar.
* GrayingMorality: In Chapter 4, Kurztian proves to be a negative influence on Thanatos, and the group starts walking a morally grey line. Ni is not happy with this.
* HappilyAdopted: Ni is close with both her adoptive parents and sisters, idolising the latter. However, her past is not so easily pushed to the side.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Soraan Junleel, in the final minutes of his life, reveal his true purpose. And that is to see the Warriors of Light victorious.]]
* HeroicBsod: Two times for Ni. Once when she had her first vision while outside of M'Rasu, and again after discovering that the golden stars she keeps seeing, that somehow connects to her origins, are demonic in nature.
** Thanatos, after meeting his Master again and discovering his disappointment in him.
** [[spoiler:Make that three for Ni, and the ultimate BSod, when she discovers she has stolen the body of the 'true' Ni Ethil, now an angry spirit who called herself Emma.]]
* HeroicSuicide: Subverted. This is how Soraan saw himself when he plunged his sword into his own chest in an attempt to let off enough dark energy to kill the party. He failed, being finished off by an arrow through the brain from Ni and a maelstrom of fire from Thanatos.
** Finally played straight in his final encounter, as he has no intention of winning, merely to use up his God's power to leave him weakened for the Warriors of Light to finish off afterwards.
* HiddenInPlainSight: The Cult of M'Rasu were based in a warehouse in the dock area of the city.
* HitPoints: Each party member and enemy has them. The former's increase after each level gained.
* HopelessBossFight: The first fight against Soraan.
* InterspeciesRomance: Ni Ethil, an Elvaan, and Mika Solwin, a Miqo'te.
* InterruptedIntimacy: When Ni and Mika were initially discovering their feelings, a guard walked in on them. He promptly left them to it.
* ItWasWithYouAllAlong: Thanatos begins the game searching for his Master. [[spoiler: Turns out the one thing he left him, Thanatos' cape, is actually Caius himself transfigured.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Thanatos. He makes a lot of comments that land him in hot water but knows when to be serious and sensitive. This leads to an odd friendship between him and Ni particularly.
* JokeItem: The Rope, a useless 'key item' you gain from an EasterEgg early on.
* KickingMyOwnButt: [[spoiler: Thanatos fighting Caius Artoriel.]]
* KilledOffForReal: Lazarus, Rocket's creator. [[spoiler:He is brought back briefly, but is killed again in front of Rocket for the cruelty.]]
** Vanaar dies during M'Rasu's sinking.
** In a final moment of redemption for his own past actions, after helping put Diabolos down, Caius allows Phoenix to permanently dispel his existence, returning the power he siphoned from Thanatos to him.
* KillerRabbit: The Tonberries are small, slow and amazing chefs. They are also more powerful and lethal than the EldritchAbomination that the party faced earlier, and everyone is terrified of fighting one.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Cloud is mentioned by Rocket after almost being consumed by a 'cloud' of poison.
** The second unlockable BonusStage is this, as it is a recreation of a non-canon birthday surprise for Rocket's player in the original tabletop campaign, directly addressing said player at the end.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Many characters have their own recognisable themes.
* LetsGetDangerous: [[spoiler:Soraan]] has spent his time as Murasan playing with the party while likewise achieving his own goals behind Diabolos' back. When his true identity is revealed before the Goddess Leviathan, and Ni Ethil tipped Diabolos off to his duplicity to sow discord, the mage finally begins to take their interference seriously. He begins by attacking the Crystal of Darkness directly, intending to destroy the foundation of the Gods' power.
* LimitBreak: Each player character has their own unique one only accessible under certain circumstances.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: Thanatos and Caius.
* LuredIntoATrap: It becomes very apparent that the Vinaldi Family know who the party are when their supposed meeting becomes a boss battle against a BEHEMOTH. A young one, but still a nasty surprise.
* MadScientist: Pretty much sums up Deviacorp.
* MagiTek: Common in Final Fantasy, Rocket is a MagiTek Cyborg.
* MeaningfulEcho: When Thanatos begins to doubt himself, Ni gives him the save advice he gave her back in M'Rasu.
* MercyKilling: For one infected with amber, such as Tiamat, death is all they could hope for.
* MirrorMatch: Turns out that [[spoiler: Caius is a clone of Thanatos created from the latter's hatred and darkness. He tries to steal Thanatos' body at the end of his arc.]]
* MysteriousBenefactor: The one behind the plague and cult in M'Rasu.
** The figure Ni sees in her visions, who seems to have some unknown connection with Ni.
* MythologyGag: "I wanted to meet Cloud, but not like this!". Which is also LeaningOnTheFourthWall since Cloud does not exist in this setting.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The group lets a single cultist live. Up until this point, they left no survivors, so Soraan didn't know exactly who these new heroes were and how they fought. Now he did, and sufficiently prepared a CurbStompBattle.
* NonHumanSidekick: Rocket has become something of a mascot for the group.
* NoodleIncident: Ni and her sisters one got so hammered that the former jumped from a tower thinking she was able to fly.
* OffingTheOffSpring: Gabranth Blackstorm is charged with locating Eralia Blackstorm [[spoiler: AKA Ni Ethil]] and killing her as an abomination. He is greatly conflicted by this, but nevertheless tries to carry out his orders. It's only after his defeat and his child's emotional meltdown that he finally sees through his cultural dogma and truly sees his child rather than something he has been commanded to end.
* OrphansOrdeal: The young girls the party find, the elder of which leads them to the cultist hideout in M'Rasu.
** Ni Ethil herself. Abandoned and found by her adoptive parents, her unknown origins hangs over her like a cloud given her constant lifelong visions that has potential demonic connections. Part of her visions is a constant swarm of Demi-Amber, floating like golden stars. Amber is a substance created by demonic entities and is the source of the plague in M'Rasu, capable of being both lethal and highly corrupting to those strong of will.
* OhCrap: When Soraan reveals his overwhelming amount of archers during when he met the player party.
* ParentalIssues: When your mother performed a dark magic ritual on you as a child and your father now seeks your death for being affected by that ritual, you could certainly say [[spoiler:Ni]] has her work cut out for her...
* {{Patricide}}: [[spoiler:Ni Ethil almost commits this in a grief-fueld rage after her biological father attempts to execute her and is beaten into submission. She almost lets go of her morals and take a turn for the ruthless during her DespairEventHorizon but she stops at the very last moment.]]
* PermanentlyMissableContent: If you don't meet the requirements for the bonus stages, then they are gone forever.
* PlayerParty: Ni, Thanatos, Alicier and Rocket are the main group.
** Mika Solwin joins at the end of Chapter 1: Plague of M'Rasu.
* PlayedForLaughs: Getting every wrong answer in Alexander's riddle puzzle. At least Cogmog is happy.
* {{Precursors}}: The group find that a resolute wasteland in Eno's south was once a vibrant alliance between two long-dead empires, both of whom were the previous victims of Diabolos in an older attempt at world domination, much like he intends in the modern-day.
* PowerCrystal: This being Final Fantasy, this was always a given. In the case of Eno, there are ten crystals in all. The five 'active' Gods have two each, one of light and one of darkness, each containing aspects of their power.
* PrestigiousPlayerTitle: After the meeting with Shiva, the group are given the title "Warriors of Light and Darkness", though that is further abbreviated to simply being "Warriors of Light".
* QuestGiver: Taam and Leran Kane.
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: After Diabolos has 'heavily chastised' Murasan for his actions, tipped off by the party to weaken their alliance, the mithra mage starts a campaign against the other Gods by targeting the mother crystals.
* RandomEncounters: True to a Final Fantasy game. These occur in dungeons and on the world map.
* RedemptionRejection: All attempts to reason with Soraan are rejected.
* TheRedMage: Soraan is this, as well as [[spoiler: Mika Solwin.]]
* RelationshipUpgrade: In Chapter 7, Ni and Mika officially become engaged to be married.
* ReluctantHero: Fein Ferrow helps the party against her Venaldi employers, but is hesitant because of what might happen to her family.
* RunOrDie: The party very narrowly escapes Soraan, Rocket carrying the half-dead group all the way to the castle before collapsing.
** In Chapter 5 the party splits up while investigating a burnt village, cut to three members running into a gigantic morbol of all things.
* SealedEvilInACan: Or a fish, as it is. The plague in M'Rasu started with an amber-infected fish being caught and eaten by a family of three, who promptly mutated and fused into the Seat of the Plague under Diabolos' influence.
** Hades in Chapter 5.
* ShipSinking: Ni tries hitting on a dancer named Luska and gets humorously shot down immediately.
* {{Sidequest}}: There are plenty of optional dungeons, some giving extra tidbits of lore and context to the world while others are there entirely for the loot.
** There is one set of dungeons in particular that creates a running side-narrative. Every chapter has a puzzle related to the God Alexander, who is sought by Cogmog the Moogle.
* SlapSlapKiss: Somewhat subverted. Ni Ethil and Thanatos have become close over some shared trauma, the former playfully hitting the latter over his teasing. But since Ni Ethil is homosexual, they can never be anything more than close friends.
* SoLongAndThanksForAllTheGear: Mika leaves the party part way into Chapter 2. [[spoiler:She comes back during Chapter 3, for good this time.]]
** Kyra joins the party for a a single dungeon before leaving.
* StatGrinding: Averted. Levels are automatically granted at certain points in the story.
** However, the player does still need to spend gil to upgrade their equipment and buy consumables. If they don't, then the game will become quite a challenge for them.
* SuperMode: Ni Ethil gains one at the end of the penultimate chapter, being able to transform into an angelic or demonic form (depending on her mood at the time) as her newest Limit Break, a power she can use to easily cast aside the dragon Nelzotol. Narratively, the drawback to the power is it takes A LOT of her magical energy to use, and leaves her exhausted after it wears off.
* {{Superweapon}}: The Tower of Creation was a tool made by the Gods to control all of the world's darkness for the purposes of creation, to speed along the planet's natural course of evolution to bring life forth to share the world they'd naturally been born into. It is the last bastion of the primordial darkness and is the seat of Bahamut's power. Diabolos wishes to pervert the tower's function by turning all the gathered darkness within into a weapon of mass destruction, to release its full power in a wave of cleansing shadow that would kill almost all of the planet's life. The only creatures left would be those who can absorb shadow, like dark knights or Ni Ethil when utilising the amber within her soul, and those that could feasibly survive the effects, like the Gods and powerful dragons. However those left would be so few that even the gods would soon be hunted down and overwhelmed by the hordes of demons serving Diabolos.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Even those who hated him the most, like Thanatos Shadowgrasp and Mika Solwin, couldn't help but pity Murasan in the end. Thanatos even attempted to return his original weapon in a show of respect before their final bout, but he gently declined the offer, instead asking for it to be delivered elsewhere.
* TakeYourTime: Vanaar wants you to rescue one of his guards. You will get to it, but you could also return to a previous area and fight some infected for a bit to earn some gil.
* TalkativeLoon: Alicier likes to ramble and be the smart one in the room. Occasionally he has to be stopped, like when approaching Kurzitan for the first time. Thanatos was meant to do the talking as it was his place of origin, but Alicier had to be dragged away before he spoke enough that he got the group in trouble. Fortunately, he can be convincing when he wants to be.
* TheCaper: Ni sneaks around a ship and steals a communicator while Thanatos provides a drunken distraction.
* TheGreatFlood: The battle between Murasan and Leviathan sends a whole island into the deep, along with those still on it.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: [[spoiler: Caius]] believes that Thanatos cannot resist his inner darkness, and thus him. Cut to Thanatos' friends gathering around him, and the DarkKnight giving his [[spoiler: former master]] a speech about how his friends make him stronger than ever.
* TheReveal: Murasan is none other than [[spoiler:Soraan himself, resurrected after being killed in M'Rasu]].
* ToneShift: The serious tone can occasionally give way to some levity.
** The DM.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Sarus Meel. Infuriatingly so, if you're Thanatos.
* TookALevelInBadass: Mika, who is classed as a White Mage when she first joins the party, leaves the group for a short while only to return as a Red Mage. That book dealing zero damage on a standard attack? It turns into a sword now.
** Rocket's cybernetics are entirely upgraded at the end of her arc.
* TookALevelInIdealism: Ni Ethil, starting off with a set moral compass that, though she slips at least once, she is determined to keep straight, somewhat subverts this idea due to her 'idealism' stemming from a desperation to do the right thing due to her viewing herself as a horrible abomination that shouldn't exist.
* TragicVillain: [[spoiler:Soraan Junleel/Murasan]] in the end. A former hero brought to the brink of despair, crossing a MoralEventHorizon to become a villain, before realising what he had become and setting up for both his and his truly evil master's defeat. Even the protagonists who hated him the most cannot help but have SympathyForTheDevil by the end.
** Even that truly evil master has an element of this, a God who had suffered through depression that led him on this path, but stifled somewhat by all events that pushed him over the edge being of his own doing.
* UnstoppableRage: Averted. Thanatos' drive for vengeance almost makes him stop caring about the innocents caught in the middle, but his friends are there to remind him that's not okay.
* UnwittingPawn: Fein is forced to work for the Vinaldi family, which puts her at odds with the party even after befriending them. Of course, she isn't given much of a choice...
* WarmUpBoss: The head of the Vinaldi Family turns out to be quite the pushover, only requiring one party member to defeat as compared to other bosses. [[spoiler: And then Caius shows up...]]
* WeddingFinale: Ni and Mika finally tie the knot after all is said and done, and end the night returning to their adventuring garb and gathering the whole group upon the newly christened Little Wing II, setting course for a random destination for one last adventure as the Warriors of Light.
* WelcomeToCorneria: No, kid, we aren't bad guys.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Penara Blackstorm performed some highly illegal magic to save her sick and dying child, intending to transfer her soul to an orphan child who, as Eralia's friend, wanted to save her life (though it should be noted that, since both children were six, neither truly understood the implications enough to make a truly informed decision). The spell went wrong when her husband and Eralia's father, Gabranth, attempted to stop the ritual after much personal deliberation. [[spoiler:Eralia also happens to be Ni Ethil.]]
** Gabranth himself ends up becoming this, as he becomes so focused on righting Penara's wrongs that he fails to see his own fall into immorality in his hunt for Eralia.
** [[spoiler: Soraan Junleel after his HeelFaceTurn. All his mass murders and atoricties? All to build the heroes' strength to face the true villain.]]
* WhamEpisode: On meeting Soraan, the player party is absolutely destroyed by him.
** Upon reaching Diabolos' eidolon and hearing his true intentions.
* WhereItAllBegan: It began in M'Rasu, and the game comes to a close in M'Rasu.
* WhiteMage: Is Mika Solwin's class when she joins the party. [[spoiler:She becomes a red mage in Chapter 3 after an extended time away from the party.]]
* WorldOfPun: Rocket the Chocobo, along with the habit of BreakingTheFourthWall every now and then.
* WretchedHive: Kurzitan is your typical hive of scum and villainy.
