* BoxOfficeBomb: This movie had a budget of about $1.2 million. It made $20... in the United States. We specify this because the movie's American theatrical run was ten total screenings over a ten day period at a single theatre outside [[UsefulNotes/DFWMetroplex Dallas]], with no fanfare. It technically made $30, but two of the $5 tickets were refunded because they were purchased by the film's makeup artist. The director wanted to release it internationally, but had to comply with the Screen Actors Guild's guidelines requiring a theatrical release in America. But even then, the film earned only $368,000 in foreign profits, so it was still a massive flop.
* DuelingWorks: Believe it or not, there was ''another'' thriller movie titled ''Zzyzx'' also released in February 2006, that involves murder on Zzyzx Road.
* RoleEndingMisdemeanor: Tom Sizemore and his friend/assistant Peter Walton were arrested during production for failing numerous drug tests as part of their probations. Tom was allowed to continue filming but Peter was jailed after officers discovered he was wanted for possession of child pornography.
* SimilarlyNamedWorks:
** Music/StoneSour released "[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zzyzx_Rd._(song) Zzyzx Rd.]]" the same year.
** ''Another'' film named ''[[https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6083910/ Zzyzx]]'' was released in 2016; its running time, however, was 3 minutes.
