1	* AdoredByTheNetwork: When this show was on Nickelodeon, it was one of the most aired sitcoms on the network alongside ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'', even after its cancellation. Years after it ended, Creator/TeenNick began to show reruns ad nauseam, giving it nearly as many showings a day as, if not more than, ''Series/DegrassiTheNextGeneration''. It is arguably responsible for [=TeenNick=]'s rapid NetworkDecay. Now it has been averted to an extent, as while [=TeenNick=] still shows the show frequently, it's nowhere near as frequently and constant as it was in 2011-2012.
2	* BlackSheepHit: Has a quite different style to it than other Dan Schneider shows, owing to the absence of the laugh track, use of a single camera, and a more subdued sense of humor. Regardless, it always remained popular in the ratings and has a decent cult following to this day.
3	* BuryYourArt: In 2023, Nickelodeon posted a video of the ''Zoey 102'' cast reflecting on their favorite moments from the original series. All clips featured in the video were edited to not show Nicole or Dustin (if they were originally featured in the scene). This is likely due to not only their characters not returning for ''Zoey 102'' (and Dana and Lola, while also not returning, were retained in the clips), but also Alexa Nikolas and Paul Butcher publicly disparaging the project and Jamie Lynn Spears.

5	** Quinn wasn't in the original pilot script. Creator/ErinSanders auditioned for the role of Nicole but it went to Alexa Nikolas. Creator/DanSchneider loved her so much that he created the character Quinn specifically for Erin to play.
6	** Miki Ishikawa, who played Vicky in season 1 auditioned for Dana. But Kristin Herrera got the part.
7	* ContractualPurity: This became an issue when Jamie Lynn Spears, 16 at the time, became pregnant. Contrary to rumors, this is not what caused the show to be cancelled as the network had already made the decision to do so and filming for the final season had already been wrapped up before Spears became pregnant. However, it did raise the issue of whether or not to air the final season.
8	* TheDanza: Lisa is played by former ''Series/AmericanIdol'' contestant Lisa Tucker.
9	* DawsonCasting: Averted as with many Nickelodeon shows. Even inverted with Music/VictoriaJustice, who played a ninth-grader at age 13.
10	* HostilityOnTheSet: Creator/AlexaNikolas (Nicole) left the show halfway through its four-season run after some uncomfortable experiences on set.
11	** In 2005, some media outlets reported that Music/BritneySpears, older sister of series star Jamie Lynn Spears, came on set and screamed at Nikolas over alleged conflicts and fights with her sister, and also threatened to end her acting career. Nikolas confirmed this incident years later, but claimed that there were no "fights" with Jamie, but that "my best friend on the show didn't want to be my best friend in real life".
12	** Nikolas claimed that Jamie was not interested in socializing with her off-camera. However, Jamie got along very well with castmate Kristin Hererra. This resulted in the rest of the cast forming a clique with Nikolas being socially excluded. While filming a scene on a beach, Herrera allegedly assaulted and verbally abused Nikolas (Herrera denied this, however). Nikolas' mother would try to get the show's staff to intervene and stop the bullying, but they instead told her that her then-12-year-old daughter needed to "grow up" and to "be professional".
13	** After learning that Herrera would not be returning for Season 2 (allegedly for looking too old for her character), Nikolas felt "safe" and began bonding with series newcomer Victoria Justice. Aside from Jamie still refusing to associate with her, Season 2 started out well for Nikolas, only to get into an argument with Justice over a boy. This was followed by Justice gossiping about her to the other castmates, and resulted in even more hostility than before.
14	** During production of the final episode of Season 2, Nikolas was unknowingly lured by the 1st AD into Jamie's trailer and was berated by Britney, traumatizing her to the point of vomiting. Nikolas and her mother confronted series creator Dan Schneider, whose idea of diffusing the situation was to gift her a portable DVD player and order her to go on set to film another scene, where Nikolas faced more teasing from her castmates over the Britney incident.
15	** Some time later, Nikolas and her mother went to the Nickelodeon offices to have a meeting with Schneider and other Nickelodeon and Viacom executives. Nikolas claims she was forced to enter the room alone and was belittled by Schneider, telling her, "It's not called ''Nicole 101''... If you wanted your own show, you should have went off and got one." He also agreed with Britney's alleged remarks that Nikolas should not be working in the acting industry. She left the room crying and told her mother that she wanted to quit the show. Nicole was PutOnABus after Season 2, and Nikolas was not invited to any cast reunions. She has been unsuccessful in making amends with any of her former castmates.
16	** Not long after the reunion, Spears reached out to Nikolas to make amends, and invited her to participate in her "Follow Me" music video. Nikolas declined, but did accept Spears' apology. However, Spears would bring up their feud in her memoir "Things I Should’ve Said" - which was already met with public backlash due to her role in her older sister's conservatorship, seeing it as a ploy for her to attempt to play victim. In it, she claims Nikolas was the one who bullied her and talked about her behind her back. Nikolas would release an Instagram post confirming she was lying, saying it was a "typical move for a bully to play the victim card/gaslight others while straight up lying".
17	** Britney Spears herself spoke of the incident in 2022, publicly and profusely apologising to Nikolas and describing how Jamie Lynn had manipulated and exploited her BigSisterInstinct to have her go after Nikolas. Nikolas replied wholeheartedly accepting the apology.
18	** Unlike Nikolas, Paul Butcher (Dustin) was initially on good terms with the cast and participated in most of the reunions. However, when discussing the "Follow Me" music video project (which Jamie Lynn Spears heavily implied would serve as the theme song for a reboot), Butcher grew weary of the lack of communication from Spears. He soon found out that the project was not being endorsed by Nickelodeon at all, and was told by Spears that none of the original show's cast members would be paid for the project because there was no money in the budget. When Butcher inquired about various social media influencers and celebrities such as [=JoJo=] Siwa participating in the project, Spears said that they were all doing it "on spec". Noah Beck, who also participated, later admitted to Butcher that this was a lie and that they were indeed paid. Butcher backed out of the project (which was later blasted by fans as a scam) and, during the #[=FreeBritney=] movement, stopped associating with Jamie Lynn and voiced his support for Britney. Like Nikolas, Butcher was not included in any reunions after that, and was not asked to return for ''Zoey 102''.
19	* OneHitWonder: For at least half the main cast, with notable exceptions being Music/VictoriaJustice (who is now better known for ''Series/{{Victorious}}''), Creator/AustinButler (who only had a main role in the final season), and, to a lesser extent, Creator/ErinSanders and Creator/AlexaNikolas. For Jamie Lynn Spears, this show is the only reason why she's not known ''solely'' for being Music/BritneySpears' sister. Even on Website/{{Wikipedia}}, "Sean Flynn (actor)" and "Matthew Underwood (actor)" redirect to the show's page and the character list, respectively.
20	* PopCultureUrbanLegends: There's a pervasive misconception that the show was cancelled when Spears got pregnant in 2007 which isn't true. The truth is that the show wasn't "cancelled", it ended on its own terms because kids' shows, by and large, have short shelf lives. Spears actually got pregnant after the decision was made to end the show.

22	** Dana was planned to become Logan's girlfriend in the later seasons of the show, but after the first season, her actress was released because "she looked too old" and was replaced by Victoria Justice as Zoey's roommate and the Logan's girlfriend bit would later go to [[spoiler: Quinn]].
23	** Michael was originally named Doug, it was changed after the pilot. It should be noted that his name was not mentioned in the pilot.
24	** Dan had planned for the show to continue even more and Nick was up for it...except the show's budget ''was way too high'' and they cancelled the show for said reason.
25	** Plans were made for a revival series, which were ended in July 2021 when Music/BritneySpears viciously accused her sister of being part of the exploitive conservatorship she’d suffered under for years. Paul Butcher voiced his support for Britney and said the revival was “deffo not happening.” That being said, the series instead became the SequelInAnotherMedium film ''Film/Zoey102''.

27	** The series was originally titled ''Totally Zoey'' but Creator/DanSchneider thought the name sounded too cheesy.

29	* WrittenInAbsence: Nicole did not return for Season 3, as Zoey mentioned that she's been shipped off to an all-girls school due to her obsession with boys. Alexa Nikolas made the decision to quit the show as she couldn't stand the unfair mistreatment from her castmates.
30	* YouLookFamiliar: Austin Butler, before being cast as James (one of the main characters in season 4) portrayed Stacey's boyfriend Danifer in the season 3 episode "Quarantine".
