* DummiedOut:
** Unlike [=WrestleMania 2000=] and [=WCW/nWo Revenge=] before that, entrances are limited to just the stage taunt - the walk to the ring and the ring taunt were cut. This was because the game was getting too big for the cartridge to handle and rather than make the unpopular N64 Expansion Pack required to play they cut some memory-draining bells and whistles.
** The Japanese version featured a shootfighting mechanic, where the B button on a strong grapple allowed you to perform a custom combo. To be fair, the shootfighting had been dummied out of [=WrestleMania=] 2000 as well, although it could be seen in WCW Revenge (most notably in Goldberg and Wrestling/UltimoDragon's movesets).
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: No Mercy is not only based around WWE's most popular period but is also widely considered a strong candidate for best wrestling game ever made, and so it's highly sought after as a result, but has never seen any sort of rerelease and probably never will given all the licensing issues involved. So if you want to play it without emulation you still have to get your hands on one of the original cartridges and play it on the N64. Additionally you have to make sure you get one of the later version cartridges or else the infamous memory bug will prevent you from being able to save the game.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Wrestling/BigShow was meant to be in the game, but Show was sent to development in order to lose weight and improve his cardiovascular fitness before the game released; his position in the storylines was taken by Steven Richards. Show's face texture is still within the files of the final game.
** A Platform/GameBoyColor version of the game was scheduled to be released, but it fell through. Had it been made, players would have been able to connect it to the N64 (like the Pokémon Colosseum games) and unlock another CAW slot, another hidden character (Dude Love), and another story line. Gangrel, the Headbangers, and the Mean Street Posse were all cut for cartridge space during development but all the parts to make them are in the game, and they may have also been intended to be unlocked by integration with the GBC version. Every time you boot the game you get a long copyright notice crediting the name Gangrel to Creator/WhiteWolf, and it's because of parts (moves, entrance, taunts etc) labeled for Gangrel.
** A sequel, WWF Backlash, was canceled sometime in 2001. Most speculate that the cut was due to Nintendo's push for the Gamecube, despite a few more N64 games being released that year. [=AKi=] Corporation (Syn Sophia) and WWE parted ways shortly after its cancellation, but some of the ideas would end up in Def Jam Vendetta.
