* AshcanCopy: The English dub was only made because Hasbro needed a toyline to fill the gap between ''WesternAnimation/{{Beast Machines}}'' and the then-upcoming ''Anime/{{Transformers Armada}}''. [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools Given the line's huge success in Hasbro's markets, things worked out.]]
* BreakingNewsInterruption: On September 11, 2001, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NRC_lp_a2U a Fox Kids broadcast of the show was interrupted for breaking news coverage regarding the events of 9/11.]]
* CompletelyDifferentTitle: In Latin America, the show is called ''"Transformers: Nueva Generación"''. (''"Transformers: New Generation"'').
* DistancedFromCurrentEvents: The dub had only aired two episodes when the 9/11 attacks occurred and multiple episodes had to be re-edited to remove scenes of destruction that could be considered in poor taste. [[MissingEpisode Three episodes didn't air at all]] and much of the series was OutOfOrder.
* HeAlsoDid: The singer of the Japanese opening is the late Koji Wada, who did numerous songs for ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}''.
* InternationalCoproduction: Between Creator/StudioGallop and their subsidiary Creator/DongWooAnimation.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Although the entire series was released on DVD outside North America, in North America, it is this. The reason why is that both this series and ''WesternAnimation/ActionMan2000'' are still under the ownership of Disney subsidiary BVS Entertainment. Hasbro seemingly has no interest in acquiring the series from Disney.
* MissingEpisode: [[DistancedFromCurrentEvents Thanks to the 9/11 attacks]], several episodes were taken out of rotation by Creator/FoxKids and were not seen until the show ran internationally and released on DVD. (''WesternAnimation/TheRippingFriends'' also had several episodes left out for similar reasons, while ''Series/PowerRangersTimeForce'' had certain episodes severely edited.)
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Originally, the anime was planned to have 52 episodes. However, due to lackluster toy sales and ratings on Takara's end, the show was reduced to 39 episodes.
* WrittenByCastMember: Several episodes of the dub were written by Creator/RichardEpcar (Armorhide) and Tom Wyner (Grimlock[=/=]Build Hurricane)
