* FollowTheLeader: A JRPG about a spiky-haired protagonist chasing a white-haired pretty boy around the game world with [[spoiler:a major party character death in the first disc]]. [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII It's not hard to figure out what success they were trying to channel here]].
* HeAlsoDid: Yasuyuki Hasebe was the lead writer, designer, and Director of ''The Legend of Dragoon''. He also worked on another RPG prior to this one; one that involved [[VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG a certain famous plumber and a wooden doll]].
* ReclusiveArtist: Yasuyuki Hasebe, the writer, designer, and director of ''The Legend of Dragoon'', hasn't been seen since its release.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** A sequel was originally planned and was actually put into pre-production. Sadly, it was cancelled for unknown reasons. Instead, the development team went on to do different projects.
** Dart [[http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/jun/30/dart-legend-dragoon-was-cancelled-dlc-character-playstation-all-stars-battle-royale/ was]] [[http://operationrainfall.com/dart-playstation-all-stars/ being considered]] as a DLC fighter for ''[[VideoGame/PlayStationAllStarsBattleRoyale PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale]]'', according to one of the game's modelers, who leaked a 3D model of Dart that he created on his online portfolio (after which his entire website was taken down). This would've been Dart's first appearance in a game in thirteen years. Ironically, this news dropped shortly after Shuhei Yoshida said in a podcast interview with IGN that ''All-Stars Battle Royale'' didn't perform well enough to pursue any new DLC.
** It was intended that there would be a fight of some sort against all seven of the original Dragoons, but Shirley's was removed in favor of a SheatheYourSword puzzle because the White-Silver Dragoon's healing powers combined with enemies having infinite MP would have made her impossible to defeat. Battle Data for Shirley's Dragoon form is still on the disc.
