* ActorAllusion: Nelson Eddy performed all the voices in "The Whale Who Wanted to Sing At The Met". At one point Willie the Whale sings one of Eddy's signature songs, "Shortnin' Bread".
* BannedEpisode: Likely because of the gunplay in "The Martins and the Coys" and the {{shower scene}} in "All the Cats Join In", this is the only entry in the Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon to be excluded from Creator/DisneyPlus.
* CompletelyDifferentTitle:
** "The Music Box" in French.
** "Music, Maestro" in Italy.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: All home video releases in the US and Canada cut "The Martins and the Coys" from the beginning due to the gunplay at the beginning that kills almost all of the feuding families. However, it did air intact on the Disney Channel in the 80's and 90's, so anyone lucky enough to record it has the full unedited version. There were also uncut Japanese [=LaserDisc=] and European DVD releases, both of which are out of print. It's also the only film in the Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon missing from Creator/DisneyPlus, most likely for this reason. The brief nudity in "All the Cats Join In" probably doesn't help either.
* ManOfAThousandVoices: All of "The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met" was sung by one person, Nelson Eddy.
* ReferencedBy: In ''Literature/ExperimentalFilm'', Simon sets Clark up with ''Make Mine Music'' on the DVD player before he and Lois leave Clark at his grandmother's home.
* ScienceMarchesOn: Nearly twenty years after "The Whale Who Wanted To Sing At The Met" made its debut, scientists discovered that whales ''could'' indeed sing and very well at that. Ironically, whereas Willie's singing [[spoiler: led to his demise]], the songs produced by humpback whales is a huge part of what fueled the "Save the Whales" campaign of the 1970s.
