* CreatorBacklash:
** The setting the comic is based on was originally a ''serious'' attempt to make ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' DarkerAndEdgier. They realized their mistake, and went the BlackComedy route instead.
** They are also quite critical of their old work, especially anything before Morth's introduction, which they cite as the point the comic [[GrowingTheBeard Grew the Beard]].

** [[http://exterminatusnow.co.uk/2010-05-09/comic/team-scramble/suddenly-words-thousands-of-them/ Virus apparently sucks at drawing.]] Guess who draws the strip.
** [[http://exterminatusnow.co.uk/2004-08-06/comic/non-storyline/randoms/sketchbook-comedy/ Terrible artist is terrible]], [[HypocriticalHumor indeed.]]
* TheMerch: Subverted, as even if the writers wanted to sell printed collections or merchandise, the things the comic is parodying make it awkward. This is, if Creator/{{Sega}}'s lawyers don't go after them first, Creator/GamesWorkshop will. [[http://exterminatusnow.co.uk/store/ They did sell t-shirts at one point]].
* ScheduleSlip: Originally updated every Monday and Friday, then just every Friday, then every Saturday. And then every "weekend". And then Monday again. And then "once a month if you're lucky."
* WriterRevolt: The crew received numerous requests for cameos by various fans, and hated all of them. They eventually responded by having the protagonists go about BreakingTheFourthWall and inserting [=RedFox=] from SpriteComic website The Middle Ground, a friend of theirs. Then, Lothar promptly [[KillItWithFire incinerated RedFox with a flamethrower]] before Virus addressed the camera and said that they ''liked'' [=RedFox=], giving an ImpliedDeathThreat that any cameos by people who requested one would have their characters get treated even worse.
* WriteWhoYouKnow: The strip has four authors, three of whom use Eastwood, Virus, and Lothar as self-inserts. Eventually they had to [[http://exterminatusnow.co.uk/2005-01-14/comic/non-storyline/out-of-continuity-comics/know-the-difference/ clarify]] that Rogue and fourth author Silversword ''are not'' the same person.
