* RecursiveAdaptation: The episodes in this series were eventually rewritten as picture books.
* TroubledProduction: The first animated series entered production by Milktrain Production in 1977, with financial investment from firm Lafferty, Harwood, and Partners. However by 1979 only 32 of the agreed-upon 104 shorts were completed, due to Milktrain running out of money. In order to secure additional funding from Lafferty they had to agree to let them take over the production completely. All 104 shorts were finally completed in 1982.

* ChannelHop: Five years after the last new episode aired on PBS, the show returned with new episodes (well, new to the US; see TheShelfOfMovieLanguishment and ShortRunInPeru below) on the Creator/{{Peacock}} streaming service in July 2020, before airing on PBS three months later.[[note]]Unlike fellow Creator/PBSKids show ''Series/SesameStreet'', which uses a similar method with premiering episodes on Creator/{{HBO}} first, new episodes of the show are exclusive to the 24/7 PBS Kids channel and said channel's livestream, but PBS affiliates only air older episodes.[[/note]]

* ScrewedByTheLawyers:
** The show's streaming deal with Hulu was why the show did not appear on the 24/7 Creator/PBSKids channel when it launched in January 2017. However, it eventually started airing there in October 2020.
** The show would later fall under this trope again when Creator/{{Peacock}} gained the streaming rights to new episodes of the show. On Samsung's PBS Kids channel, [[https://twitter.com/itspeeebs/status/1540866453699805186?s=20&t=QUNUnh7njfSUdTH-dBqkiw an error message is displayed]] if one turns on the channel while ''Curious George'' is airing, redirecting them to use the PBS Kids app. By June 2023, even the PBS Kids app restricted livestreams of the show.
* TheShelfOfMovieLanguishment: Seasons 10, 11 and 12 have copyright notices of 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively, and were meant to be released on Creator/{{Hulu}} as part of [[https://deadline.com/2016/03/hulu-streaming-rights-curious-george-franchise-series-specials-1201722184/ a deal that was announced in 2016]], but were not put up on the service for some reason[[note]]Hulu only has the first nine seasons along with the specials[[/note]]. The episodes [[ShortRunInPeru first aired on]] Creator/FamilyJr [[ShortRunInPeru in Canada and possibly in other countries as well]] before they were finally released in the US on the Peacock streaming service in July 2020, with PBS getting the episodes three months later.
* ShortRunInPeru: As mentioned above, Canada was one of the first countries to air seasons 10 to 12 before they were released in the US, with seasons 10 and 11 airing weekly from September to December 2018 and May to August 2019 respectively, and season 12 airing throughout the month of February 2020.
